It makes me wonder if they found an issue

Unlikely. If there were issues they would’ve likely been resolved sooner. Because of the scale of the plane, they were likely removed to prevent them being damaged or to provide greater access for the plane’s installation. It wouldn’t surprise me if this track has already been reinstalled.

The white crane was inside the track for the temple build.  It has now come outside the track for the station & plane build.

The yellow crane moved the plane to the location and the bigger white crane, placed the plane in its final spot.

The track has been removed for the crane to get out of the location it was in.  The track might remain incomplete for a while, if the crane is still required for the temple.

It still doesn't make sense why they put all the track pieces in if they knew they were going to need to remove them... why not just leave them off until all the work inside the track was done?

The steel column connections to the footings aren't tightened to max torque, until the track is complete to allow for adjustments, during the track insulation.   At a guess, no testing could have stared before the columns are locked down.

Plus, at another guess, you would want to make sure it all goes together.  Remember what happened to Rivals?

I highly doubt it's done a full circuit yet.

Parts of the track have been wrapped up to protect it from the construction of the vintage cars circuit. And I don’t think the train was installed onto the track until after the track had been wrapped. I’m sure DW will be posting content of the train completing its first circuit when it happens, so I think it’s safe to assume it hasn’t happened yet.

Honestly pushing s**t up hill to have this ready by December. A lot of work still to be done

All of the work happens simultaneously.  Pre-fab panels can be installed, while concrete is poured, while vehicles are tested off-site, while landscaping, electrical and plumbing go in, while a roof is installed.  They're all different contractors working at the same time.  If everyone needs 6 weeks to complete their part of the job, the area will be finished in 6-10 weeks - allowing some time for them to get out of each other's way (like installing wall panels before a roof).

It is a lot of work, but it will come together pretty quickly.  I'm just glad that DW are putting some effort into a car ride, and not just plonking down a rail.  It will be nice to have a well-themed gentle ride that grandparents and young kids can ride together.

That means 6-10 weeks before testing starts?

That's not an official time frame, I was just using that as an example of how 'a lot of work' doesn't need to be done sequentially, it can all happen at the same time - including testing.

20 weeks of work can be done in 5-6 weeks if you have 4 different crews working on different parts of it simultaneously.

The testing of the coaster can happen during that time period also - at night - when no one is around to get in the way. But testing can still happen in the day, with temporary fencing and signage erected to keep people out of the ride envelope.

Same with the cars, although their testing can mostly be done off-site.  The final testing on the guide rail shouldn't take more than a few days, it's not a particularly complicated ride.

It looks like they're still on track for a late-December opening.  Hopefully they get good weather for the next few weeks to push through the bulk of the big stuff.

In 66 days
26 December 2024

Just a reminder that the FIRST pieces of the temple structure steel frame went in mid April, they have since built an entire structure, fitted almost all external and internal panelling to the structure, layed coaster footings and installed an entire roller coaster track in just five months, these task being the likely most time consuming tasks to be completed.

The remaining parts of the projects are likely much less time strenuous and will come together very quickly. Like it's been said on the thread before you can have multiple contractors working on various different parts of the project at a time, I'm personally confident they will have it done on their promised schedule (late December) based on the current progress.

Key word being almost, the entire top section of both inside and outside are missing their panels.

Still a lot of work to do just to the structure itself, let alone everything else. MM looks like it has at a guess, almost a month of theming work to go. There's A LOT to do in 66 days. You've got one team of theming contractors doing that entire side of the build alone, trying to complete two attractions.

Doesn't matter how much they've done in a short timeframe, if they still miss the opening.

I completely agree with you, and I hope that they can pull through on this one because it really won't look good for them.

Just saying credit where credit is due, a lot of work has been completed in a short time frame, especially considering there has been some unfavorable weather at times.

Spoken like a true DW Spokesperson. They've been pushing the unfavourable weather narrative from the moment they announced the attraction.

DW know it, they've changed their wording recently on when you can expect to open it. There is also hardly ANY paid media advertising around this ride currently, and I'd be willing to bet they have no idea when it will open.

You can't start blaming

Certainly not blaming anything, just stating it's existence really, yes it's been lower than normal this year and they have been lucky, but any rain day is basically a 0 progress day which is massive in the grand scheme.

Let not forget its not just rain though and it's also difficult to operate a crane and manoeuvre large objects with increased wind speed which there has been no shortage of this year.
