Please don't misunderstand me - i'm not saying they shouldn't have opened - opening was unequivocally the correct decision. And i'm not saying it hasn't been done before or isn't a 'business as usual' practice.

I also think the ride looked mostly fine in it's opening state and by our local standards, you'd get away with leaving it at that (and they aren't, so kudos to them for doing that).

I'm just saying for me - the fanfare has passed. The ride will no doubt get it's finishing touches, but the 'first impression' opportunity is gone. The park won't come out and say when everything is done, so we're in that limbo period where every visit potentially will show something new (which is good) but there's no 'endgame' where we know they've definitively "finished" - one day it will just be 'done' and that's it.

I prefer them slowly adding more over time than the opposite. All too often you hear about attractions that have effects which are taken away for being either too ambitious or complex.

@Guest 239or too expensive to maintain, is another reason why they get taken away.   The slow death of an attraction theming, because the park stops spending on the upkeep.  As soon as a park goes into a period where guest numbers dry up and clash flow slows, it's the first item the parks stop spending money on.

It's a dead give away of a parks financial state of play, when you see failing theming.

maybe the ride will close for a couple days after the holidays so they can do everything they need to do. maybe around the same time they’re installing the tracks behind JR.

Wasn’t dreamworld making record profits in the early 2010’s while theming was rotting away everywhere in the park (and as we know now safety practices were near non existent)?

I don't know if DW were making record profits 🤷‍♀️ but from the outside, it looked like DW's profits were being spent, on growing Main Event.

I mean it's pretty clear he means Ardent were focussed on growing Main Event at the expense of dreamworld. And i'm pretty sure that's accurate.
