Vortex only came out of maintenance Friday so if you believe this, I have a bridge to sell to you.

Yeah, I understand Trident and Leviathan being closed as they're either not ready to operate, or were rushed to do so, but Vortex by all accounts should be fine to operate. The only 'minor rectification' it needs is making the sign no longer read as 'Vowt?x'.

Was inspired to do a CGI render.

Can't wait to ride it again.

I just hope SW/village look after the ride cause I have heard they can get rough if they don't. .

Media has now caught onto the rides not operating, it looks like there was a lot more people coming to ride them right now then just less then 3 families.

Seriously, though, it was just a matter of time that news catches on to how badly they've fumbled, and it doesn't even seem like they reported anything incorrectly this time around. One of the interviewee's nailed the situation on the head, it just wasn't ready to be open, but they rushed it and now it's gonna bite them in the bum as much as we expected it would.

When the GP (same group of people i’ve heard call GC better then ST, Storm same ride as GL and post stories from Movie World tagging Dreamworld and vice versa) can tell an area and ride weren’t meant to be open, that’s an issue. I don’t think they thought through the opening for this area properly, i doubt we’ll see another Village ride open without a soft opening.

I decided to visit Sea World today, just to check out what was going on. Indeed, the entire New Atlantis percent was completely closed off:

Interestingly, it seemed that Vortex was having some fairly major work done, with a tent and tarps placed over the ride and even a crane was moved into the area:

Leviathan was testing throughout the day without riders, while Trident began testing with water dummies around midday and staff were let on to the ride just as the park closed at 5pm:

I really felt sorry for the staff at the park today as there were a lot of very unhappy guests. The most recent Google reviews are pretty scathing too.

It's a regular construction site again, really takes me back to the good ol' days

Honestly the park should be offering free return passes for anyone visiting while the new rides are closed. Minimal cost and much better PR than “oh sorry we hoped they would be open but oh well…”

So how much money, talks of safety and this has duct tape on it still ? I find this very funny but questionable. For example in weather could start deteriorating and cause a hazardous situation.

Additional info and spelling error

Atleast by the looks of it, Trident has been commissioned now and should be opening with the rest of the area when it reopens.

As for Vortex, it’s surprisingly such major work is being done to it when it’s only just come out of its maintenance period 4 days ago, it seems like there’s been a reoccurring issue with the restraints since the ride opened, so maybe that’s being sorted out now.

100% It would cost them nothing too.. because there's no way guests that have been there over the last few days are going to be visiting again anytime soon

$10 discount for half the park being closed! Classic.

a free return pass would be so much better, it’s kinda like “hey because 4 of our 5 main rides, including 3 new ones are all closed, here’s $10.” it doesn’t add up.

I know people hate me comparing our parks to US/EU parks.. but Dollywood offers a free return pass if it rains during your visit. Every single day of their operating year.

Dollywood, being a previous comparison in the conversation of opening strategy, due to its notoriously unreliable marquee attraction. It’s the least SW could do (now that news is reporting on it & the story’s becoming widespread).
