Honestly no idea what you're talking about. That doesn't happen on the Triden either.

It has to be open first.

I've been in queue, during a ride stoppage, at the bottom end of the switchback. mid-afternoon, full sun. absolutely baked.

The Trident shelter provides zero protection from the afternoon sun (and it's got a glass roof too). Once you reach lunchtime, only the rear of the queue receives any sort of shade.

The flyer on the other hand will have people mostly facing south, and the harsher afternoon sun will also be shielded by the Sky Voyager facade also.

Anybody able to convince me the floor over the water is great yet?

I don't think anybody was arguing the floor was great, only that it may have been necessary. And it was in the plans all along, so always as intended and designed.

Sounds like things are coming along nicely with the new signage and queue house installation. Fingers crossed it'll be ready for summer - the park could definitely use a new lift to help spread crowds out. Are the fountains under the floor going to be programmed with lights or effects at all? That could help tie it in visually. Overall it seems like a fun new addition, even if the floor piece will take some getting used to!

I don’t think the intention is for one new spin and spew to bring in the crowds, I think the intention is to offer a bigger, better overall experience at the park, more rides, more kinetic energy, more atmosphere, and a fuller day of experiences. I have been going to the park regularly for 6 or so years now, and I do believe that the average attendance day to day is increasing, even more so in just the past few months. I think they’re in for a pretty busy summer actually. It’s not the fact that it’s just one new ride, it’s the fact that there are multiple new rides to open within days, the park is looking brighter and fresher than ever and just feels better value/quality due to the addition of a ‘spin and spew’

At the end of the day and no matter how pretty DW has made SF, it’s just another spin & spew for DW to add to its other spin & spews.   IF SV couldn’t increase the gate, a spin & spew won’t do it.

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t…

Is there anything DW could do that you’d actually be happy about?

I’m not sure I consider wave swingers to be a “spin and spew”. They’re fairly gentle rides, perhaps the fountains add a little excitement but it would be pretty rare for someone to experience nausea on one of these.

@MichelangeloI've said many positive comments about DW but it's more your issue that you only remember the negative ones.   If you want 100% bottom kissing I have a site for you.   https://www.facebook.com/dwgoldenyears?mibextid=ZbWKwL

Perfect example of a site that was devoted to how much the park had gone downhill until the gm kissed their ass and made them feel special so they flipped their bias quicker than a venecian gondola

So because a group of Dreamworld and Theme Park enthusiasts start a social media group like MANY on this site, it’s now called “bottom kissing” and “ass kissing” WOW so professional and mature. That group is focused on Dreamworld because that’s what they specialise in. If only you people can see how disgusting you represent yourselves. I assure you your comments make you look like a fool and no wonder you’re not respected in the industry. Grow up.

Just checked your profile and its good you stopped by to make your annual defend dreamworld post

I think youll find my comment highlighted that that particular page started to show how good the park was compared to its present self but then instantly changed its narrative as soon as they were invited to a couple events which i hardly think is a disgusting thing to point out given it totally happened

Not sure who the last bit is meant to insult but hey you go girl

Moving on all though I do like browsing through dreamworld golden years but as @webslavesaid and many others there use to be more anti Dreamworld there for you have no idea what you are on about.

On the contrary, a wave swinger is about one of the worst attractions for people with vestibular conditions (which includes things like vertigo) - the full 360 spin, combined with a rhythmic oscillating up and down means its very difficult for them to stabilise while on the ride.

Suffice to say the GY page did not change its tune due to favors from the park. The guy who runs it had a falling out with the others who were part of the "founding team", and the loss of those folk resulted in the bias you see today. (It's fair to say the bias probably led to the favourable relationship they have with the park now, but it was not the cause of it)

There is nothing wrong with them being supportive of the park - there are lots of fan pages out there that like to promote their chosen park and to completely ignore any of their faults (TBH, the MW fan pages are probably a lot worse when it comes to can-do-no-wrong blind adoration) - but I do think its a bit rich to stick with the 'golden years' name when that was intended to be the contrast between 'then' and 'now' - and the whole 'past, present, future' tagline is at complete odds with the 'golden years' name.

Interestingly - I thought you said you didn't use facebook?

Bahahahaha.

This may be beyond your comprehension, but I’ll give it a shot.

A customer -

If you are fond of a place and you see something you don’t like, you say something because you care.   You don’t want to see the place close forever.

A fan page –

You don’t say anything negative or constructive in the hope of getting thrown a bone.

Can you see the difference.

If DW was in a hospital, the Doctors would turn off the life support because the ECG shows no sign of life.  DW can chose to pay attention to who they want, but who should they listen to?  A customer who wants to take their children to their park or someone unwilling to mutter a word against them for a kickback.

I still can’t believe people here think you have to pick a side.  MW or DW is it so hard for people to understand it’s ok like both places and saying something negative about a place, doesn’t mean you don’t like the place.

If I was a member of one of these fan pages, I would be banned faster than a knife fight in a phone booth.   🤣

To be completely fair that gy page is fairly level headed and almost sane they just have crazy bias.
The fan pages for movie world are a whole level of bat shit crazy onto themselves

I am only talking about the crazy bias.  A lot of the content is fine and interesting, but I would never ask them for a review.

Never seen the MW pages because you require facebook to become a member.  I can only see pages that don't require membership and you can see with an internet browser.

(Clip of the ride testing prior)

I saw something this morning that showed the water fountains are also splashing the queue line quite considerably.

Gonna have to tweak that - folks aren't going to be keen on queueing in a rain shower... though they are still testing so we still don't know if this will be the final product.

It will be interesting on how wet it becomes under the chairs, with everybody having to walk over the ugly wet grate flooring, to get to the chairs.

No different to the exit walkway on Storm Coaster, same material, gets wet, it'll be fine.
