And this is exactly why soft openings are so important.

Wow! I can't wait for this to be the only ride within a ride in the southern hemisphere operating at MW.

  • Just curious, @Dean Barnett, do you think about what you post? like ever?

In all honesty, I don't know why parks target openings to occur bang on peak periods. There are inevitably teething issues and the ride's reputation is made or broken in that first peak rush.  Op

High quality theming that is.  🤢

It's a relocation.

It was meant to be temporary\filler for scooby.

It's opened much later than planned, and probably cost more too.

It's not the show-stopping new attraction set to open this year.

I'm quite happy for them to go skint on this thing. the best visuals are the fact that superman is all around you too - we finally get to watch SE from inside the helix as well. I don't want a bunch of themed tunnels or some shit blocking the view.

If WOz turns out amazing, i'm totally ok with Flash being this way.

I wonder if they triggered this on purpose so they could ‘practice’ an evac. Since it was the last ride of the night and wouldn’t delay any guests waiting in the queue, it makes sense they would practice them so they become efficient when it does happen

Absolutely preposterous.

They've all done their training. They've all worked a hard day on a new attraction. The last thing they're going to do is intentionally cause a fault when its time to knock off.

Don't be so absurd.

I was the only non-staff member on/near the cycle, and nobody was expecting to happen, so I doubt it was purposefully triggered.

I’m actually quite impressed with the overall presentation of the ride TBH. Though nothing groundbreaking, it’s definitely much better than I was expecting and is a big improvement on how it was presented at WNW. The additions of the statues, tunnel and lighting package are all really nice touches and I appreciate that MW went to the effort of adding them, as they really enhance the experience. I’m usually not a fan of 2d printed sign comic book “theming”, but given the circumstances, I think it kind of works in this case.

Well luckily 2D is keeping in theme with the ride as it only moves X & Y, not Z.

I think you meant to say, it only moves x & z? If it moved on the X & Y, it would be a Cha Cha ride.😀

What's worse than a poster for theming?

I didn't realise we were being so pedantic, but in the case of two dimensional space, X & Y are the commonly used labels. You wouldn't skip over Y to refer to something as X & Z unless a third dimension was possible. (And given the artwork and intent of the ride description, a third dimension wasn't seen as applicable).

You are correct that Z is traditionally drawn as the vertical axis, but this also depends on your perspective, doesn't it? ;)

It took you a lot of words, to say I was correct.  🤣

I cant spell

Kind of a shame that there wasn’t an actual opening ceremony, they’ve been fun to go to recently. Not that I think Flash warrants one, but theit constant hyping up of an ‘opening date being announced soon’ had me believing they thought it did.

I thought the same thing because for weeks they’ve been teasing an opening date will be announced soon. And then suddenly at 3pm on a rainy Friday it’s officially open.

All of the hype for the ride in the recent months has been really good, but they’ve ended it all a bit flat. And I’m so glad they moved on from the untrue statement of it being a ride-within-a-ride in all of their social posts.

Scratch that. If you watch the video they certainly do push the ride-within-a-ride statement 🙄
