White Water World has removed the wedgie from the website. it's been closed for 2 years now.

They have done a silent removal and sign for it in park has been scraped Aswell I believe.

What are your guy's thoughts?

The Wedgie was showing too many cracks?   /s

I have no idea to be honest but maybe that's why.

As I understand it, Aqualoop is not long for this earth either, though i'm not sure that the reasons for removal would be the same.

Wedgie was always a poor cousin. It was rushed onto that slide tower as a way to try and win one over WNW, but the tower \ stairs never had much room for it, and especially after covid, things like distancing just made the shared queue ridiculous to manage. High staffing levels and low capacity - honestly good riddance.

a couple weeks ago i overheard a staff member say to guests who asked about the ride that it won’t reopen due to “it not being safe.” i wonder what issues the ride was having but atleast the stairs are manageable to wait on now.

speaking about waiting, does anyone know why they’re still lining up guests at the bottom of the staircase for both the Hydrocoaster and Green Room? it’s such a slow and useless change, it just wastes a staff member. The same day bro and rip were alternating operational periods, couldn’t the staff used to manage that line be used to actually operate the slides?

Jr lifeguards manage the GR/HC queue therefor they can’t operate slides

OT has anyone actually seen the Wedgie lately and the condition it’s been in? I’m surprised people are surprised it’s retired

It was terrible when it was new so can't imagine it later on in its life. As said previously it was the little brother to aqualoop and it showed. No back mats made it uncomfortable to ride as you felt every single transition between the slide pieces at high speed.

*atleast when i was there* lifeguards were swapping in and out. one lifeguard would come down from HC and manage the queue as the life guard managing the queue would go back up to HC, then it happened with GR lifeguard ect. some however did swap out then leave. it’s worse waiting down there with no shade standing on the hot concrete tbh.

A person who claimed to have worked there posted on social media that it was hard to get parts for the ride hence the decision to shut it down.

but as stated it was always a rough ride, enjoyable but your back copped it afterwards
