All team members across Movie World, Paradise Country, Wet'n'Wild and Topgolf  have been advised the parks WILL NOT OPEN TODAY, 26 Dec 23 due to damage from last nights storm. The Stand Down Clause will apply to all team members unless called and requested to work. All other properties will open as normal. Sea World remains open!

DW too, looking at the Energex Outages I would say not only is there potential Storm damages but also still power issues.

 

Was a wild storm here last night in the northern GC.

Sea World have posted they are open, but the updates page on the website says they aren’t 🤦‍♂️

They’ll probably just remove that shelter for now until they can get a replacement to get the park open. They’ve got a massive team, so it can be impressive how much they can get done in a day

Yeah they are shockers at communication sometimes.

The “download to stay up to date app” still says it’s business as usual.

Omg that intense. Topgolf could be closed for a while unless they have spare netting in BOH 

more big storms are meant to hit later this afternoon, if that’s the damage on the outside of the parks i wonder what it’s like in the inside. i won’t be shocked if they remained closed tomorrow as well.

I saw some branches across rivals track too - not sure if it needs engineering checks etc ?

Dreamworld will reopen tomorrow, however Tiger Island and the wildlife area will remain closed until further notice. Whitewater World will also be closed until the power is back online.

 

Does it make sense ? Power outage at whitewater world ? But dreamworld no issue ?

I would think it’s on same grid external . Could be an internal issue but i wonder if it has something to do with getting all resources to focus on dreamworld safety testing but they just don’t want to say it ! .

WNW will be closed today but should be reopening tomorrow 

- The Gold Coaster
- Dreamworld Flyer
- Dreamworld Express
- Vintage Cars

Have all been added to Dreamword’s Maintenance page.

All just listed as closed today, except for Vintage Cars which is listed as Jan 9.

Gold Coaster I assume was impacted by some of the fallen trees.

Dreamworld Express I’d say will be out until the wildlife reopens.

Vintage cars might take longer than the wildlife to reopen due to the smaller trees around that area.

 Shame DW Flyer is closed, I wonder if all the seat chains got tangled in the wind

Both water parks would have to get the water back within standards range as well. All that debris and rain water will have thrown the balance out.

Yeah .. I don’t think it’s the power . More likely that and filtering etc . Explains wnw at same time which they openly say

Correction

Busy first day of peak period for MW with most rides with a 60-120 minute wait.

At SW most rides have an hour wait, but no surprise, Vortex and Trident aren’t operating 

Paradise Country to remain closed until further notice
