I don't like the use of Jane at all.   Rivertown Restaurant works for me.

What's next, George's Gift Shop.

Did DW seriously pay somebody to copy Indiana Jones & George of the Jungle?

It’s world building. “Rivertown Restaurant” sounds a little generic IMHO. Attaching a character to the restaurant’s name (who I guess is a resident of Rivertown and owns/operates it) immediately implies that there’s some kind of story and “history” to the place, adding to the overall immersion of the area. It also signals to guests that this isn’t a typical generic dining experience and may make them more willing to try it out. We also don’t know what the storyline for Jungle Rush is yet. Perhaps Jane will play a big part in the ride and this will form part of a bigger overall story.

@Tricoartbesides the name, where is the character in the Restaurant.  I haven't seen one picture of Jane.

Jane might own the restaurant, but at this stage I believe she's a silent owner.

Of the 2 concept images we’ve seen of the restaurant in their press release, “Jane” has been mentioned 3 times. Yes, the theme isn’t “Jane”, that’s a pretty shite theme, but the theme is a Rivertown Restaurant run by the fictional character “Jungle Jane”, because that’s the story they’ve made up for the location.

If you wish to refer to it as just “Rivertown Restaurant”, you’re completely free to as that’s the name of the restaurant itself. “Jane” or “Jungle Jane” is solely attached onto it to give it a storyline/theme by giving it a fake owner that doesn’t need to be included in every mention of the place, just like any other owner’s name, real or fake, that’s included in the name of a business. I don’t get what’s making this hard to understand, or a point of contention.

Sure, but you’re seeming to approach it as if them putting a character in front of a name is a unique issue (despite all other examples of this being the case), and implying it furthers the narrative of the whole theme being a Tarzan ripoff, this time with unusably long, contrived names based on other copyrighted characters spread throughout the whole area. All I’m trying to do is reiterate that you can refer to the location as you like without jumping through those hoops, and that the ‘issue’ of “[person/character name]’s [place name]” isn’t unique, and isn’t an issue.

You're still attaching the word "jungle" to the name. it appears it was used back in February with early concepts, but all of the current material does not use it. Not casually, not accidentally left out. Even the concept signage on the front of the building doesn't use it. I'd suggest to you they've dropped the name.

All your other examples are real world people (like Buffet, who is synonymous with the restaurant and could be dropped regardless - but his name would still be on every sign and billboard) or pre-existing IP characters who are attached to an outlet in order to relate it back to the theme and\or link it to the pre-existing IP.

This. Is. Neither.

What if I told you the name Jungle Jane was coined by AI? Would you shut up then?

So you think it'd be fine if it was 'Greg Yong's BBQ'? My point is, that's the theme they're going for for the location/restaurant, to attach the name of their new character (whether that be "Jungle Jane" or just "Jane") as to imply that that's the case, and that, like the real-world people or pre-existing IP characters, the name can freely be used or not used.

Boy, do I love bringing up that you disagreed in a past unrelated argument to demean any current point being made!

It'd be a delicious demonstration to Village that you can operate a full sit-down restaurant in a gold coast theme park. (I'm looking at you Rick's Cafe, Stars Cafe and various long-closed Sea World options, and yes I know they've been talking about reopening Stars cafe recently but it's been getting on in years...

In Jaggs Journeys recent video he mentioned that Movie World have announced that the star cafe will be returning in the near future

Not at all. Just wondering if it would change your view of the name.

It looks like they've gutted the entire building so hopefully that means a new kitchen where they can cook actual meals instead of the usual quick service menu

Expand

It always had a full kitchen, don’t forget billabong was a buffet Restaurant.

this won’t be quick service, by the sounds of things it was be a proper sit down a la carte restaurant rather than a buffet again however

Oh cool a discussion thread about something new at the parks! Let me just scroll through the petty argument that happens in every thread between the same people to actually get to what I came here for!

If you don't like the discussion that happens happens in every thread between the same people, you can stop their comments showing.   My guess is you won't do this and continue to complain about it.

At no point had I associated "Jane's Rivertown Restaurant" with Tarzan Lore.
DW don't have that IP, and where was "Rivertown" in Tarzan?

Some conclusion jumping going on here.

Looking forward to hearing more about the animatronics.

Personally hadn't thought about it, 'cause it doesn't matter and won't be known. Could be 'cause it rhymed with Jungle, 'cause they thought it sounded good at the start of the restaurant's name, 'cause they thought it fit the character they'd made up, a myriad of other things, or a mixture of any of 'em. Is Kenny Koala a Barbie Ken Doll ripoff, or a Constable Kenny ripoff? Is Walter Wombat a Wario ripoff, a Mr. Wombat ripoff, or a ripoff of this plush toy?

And mb, I meant 'alliterates' instead of 'rhymes', like Kenny Koala, Belinda Brown, Walter Wombat, Bella Bilby, (Kenny's) Forest Flyer (a character's name in front of an attraction's, how novel), Barrels Burger Bar, (The) Sandwich Shop, Serpent Slayer, Seabed Splash, Deep (Sea) Dodgems, Murrisippi Motors, Rivertown Restaurant, etc.
