What ride should replace Doomsday Destroyer?

I would suggest something, but to be honest, I don't know what flat rides exist that would go well in that space, that Dreamworld hasn't already got.

Would the public accept Movie World installing a frisbee/gyro swing or any other flat rides that another park close by has?

I guess it doesn't have to be a flat ride, but it is an area that they do sorely lack in, and is an easy crowd pleaser.

They might just replace the attraction with themed seating anyway.

Mad max dark ride, expand the whole old DC area into a western/Mad Max them. Move all DC statues to the DC area. Remove Justice league and put in a couple of flats themed to DC.

We all want to see a new dark ride at MW, but the reality is if you jump forward a decade, we’ll still be wanting one. The best to hope for would be a renewal/retheme of JL.

Move vortex provided it has a better cycle programmed

Otherwise I’d like to see a Gerstlauer sky roller (think tail spin but attached to a tower). You could make it pretty tall if you wanted to

Would love to see a screaming swing at movie world but as I’ve said before highly doubt village buys anything from S&S given how Green Lantern has turned out

What I'd like to see:

  • Something like Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's maybe with part of the coaster in the building.
  • An Infinity coaster like Hangtime at Knotts, they fit that into a boomerang footprint at Knott's.
  • Bring back Gremlins.
  • Ghost train, more on the haunted mansion level than carnie.
  • Go full carnie, put in a zipper lol.

Reality:

  • Nothing.
  • Outdoor tables and seats with no shade.
  • Sea World star flyer
  • Locally sourced pre-loved gyro swing.

Absolute certainty:

  • High level of disappointment.

The last thing I'd want to see right now is another coaster for Movie World, they have way too many compared to their current ride lineup. They need a decent collection of flat rides (3-4 at least) to round out the lineup and add some much needed capacity. I'd say 2 flat out thrill rides (Mondial Top Scan as an example of thrill level) and 2x family flat rides (Breakdance, Scrambler sort of level)

My ideal flat ride package for the park would be:

  • Screaming Swing - Family Thrill and would likely fit where DD is now. (32-40 rider capacity)
  • Indoor highly themed Break Dance 5 (Could have been done as Kansas Twister to simulate being in a tornado but that's already done now!) - Family Thrill (40 rider capacity)

  • Mondial Top Scan - Could fit nicely into the western area if themed well and hopefully runs a decent cycle - Extreme Thrill (30 rider capacity, 36 for the Ventura model)
  • Zamperla Endeavour - High Thrill (24 or 48 capacity)

A decent flat package like this really would bolster the parks offerings and could be spread out over 2-3 years or they could do all 4 at once to really one up the park. These 4 attractions would likely be the cost of one major coaster but would really help with capacity.

After this sort of investment, I'd be seriously looking at a replacement for Justice League, Green Lantern, Superman or Wild West Falls as the next major project for the park as all of those rides would be getting close to their best before (West being 30, Superman 25, Green Lantern and Justice League 15 years)

Hangtime occupies more space than the boomerang. From memory they had a top spin or something similar behind the boomerang that also got removed to fit in the station and exit shop for hangtime, so it's a little bigger than a boomer.

Also, for the love of god - please nobody give them ideas for more coasters. I like them, but that park doesn't need more coasters right now - they need good quality high capacity flat rides that take the pressure away from the coasters and have far less moving parts for things to go wrong.

^It's a fun ride IMO, one of the surprise packets at Knott's.

@DaptoFunlandGuy Probably a bit of wishful thinking on my part regarding footprint, Hang Time is a good coaster. I doubt in reality they'd get another coaster for a long time, but it will be interesting to see what they do (or maybe don't do) in the area.

Much as I have no appetite for the likes of Abyss, HangTime is quite a good little coaster. it's my son's favourite, and it is the yardstick against which every other ride he goes on is compared.

I would love to see a model like that here, assuming our climate doesn't fuck it up like Abyss

I saw Walibi Holland is building dueling RMC Raptors, one Family and one Thrill. That would be awesome. Also, not gonna happen.

Village came very very close to building one instead of Oz so never say never. They might revisit that once an opportunity arises to replace a major down at DC comics corner.
