How Dreamworld should return to theme park normalcy

It seems every six months or so news surfaces of another attraction destined for Dreamworld that wouldn't find its way into any normal single-price theme park. The reason why is not difficult; by boosting per-capita spending – the average amount each guests spends in the park – they can increase profits without having to go to the more costly expense of attracting new clientele. But there's surely a better solution than that.

Agree 100% with everything in this article. The concept of an Extreme World is one I have contemplated myself, and it just seems like a sitting duck of an opportunity that the people at Coomera should be able to put together with their eyes closed, especially given MLT already knows how to run FECs with the ones they have in the US. The thing that gets me is that all these attractions are self funding, So surely then they would make more without a $69 barrier to entry, and without having to compete with bigger rides in the same park that are 'free' (I know personally I am interested in spending my time at a park doing the things that I have paid money to come in and see in preference to forking out for extras) I think if there was an unlimited wristband as Richo described then it could be a bit easier to get people to spend more...If it is standalone stuff inDW there is probably a limit to how many things people would have a go at, and how much time they could devote....On the other hand if you were turning up to Extreme World, you would have a mindset of spending time only there, and hence may well just go the wristband and make a day of it. I think the issue now is that they are too commited now to "enhanc(ing) Ocean Parade and creat(ing) a zone of participative experiences" given everything is sort of built in to that area, they can't easily move everything across to a third gate.

I know what they'll do - a barber shop - that way they can announce it as an Australian first and that it will be the first in a line of things adopted from/inspired by Magic Kingdom that aren't rides or decent attractions. After that, bathrooms with identical wall tiles/colours, What A Swell Party This Is being performed down the Midway & a bronze statue of Stephen Gregg hugging Kenny Koala.
