  • I wouldnt count on a new rollercoaster for oxenford anytime soon. Over the next 5 years I expect that mw will focus on adding the kind of new attractions that will balance the park in every way imagin

Kujotess, I want to know more about you. I get the impression you're female, and about 12-15 years old. That isn't intended to be an insult, and I apologise if my impression is incorrect, but it's jus

  • Its pretty obvious you are pissed of that nobody agrees with your analysis of wooden coasters.

B&M are getting really adventurous with their flyer coasters, just check out Starry Sky Ripper at Joyland, China. It's much smaller than Tatsu, but from what I've heard it's just as insane. A standup would never happen, that gimmick died out in the 90's.

Yes and I dont know why. It still gets the most omfg reaction from the GP when you mention it and it's a great feeling if your not so much of a moron you can't set the restraint at the right height.

See that's the danger with em'. You can get great rides on Riddlers (And I DO like stand ups), but you have to put all your weight on the height adjustable part to keep it from nut crushing, and in part it relies on the less attentive SFMM employees letting you get away with the bicycle seat lower than what it should be. Plus the complexity of the loading process I'm not sure would do too well at one of our parks lol.

See I never found it an issue, you don't have to put much weight on that harness to set it at the right height, and the big seat isn't meant to be a seat, thats where idiots get it wrong. If you stand properly that thing never touches you and it's a comfortable ride. I hardly think in the dozen or so times I've ridden Riddlers that I'm either a)a genius, or be b)fluke lucky to have the restraint right every time. And as for loading process... good luck to australian parks and loading a flyer!

^Aren't B&M flyers and inverted coasters exactly the same though? Sit down and close the OTSR. The only difference is the operator has to make the seats lift into the flying position (as opposed to making the floor drop on an invert/slc) Vekoma flyers would be another story though.

There's also the leg grabs to close and the restraints do have to fit a lot better than on an invert as you're entire weight is pretty much supported by it.

My apologies for not being up to your intellectual standard.

The leg grabs shut simultaneously as you pull down the harness right so it wouldn't impact on the boarding time? With flyers as far as I know the system just ensures its closed "enough", and the dispatcher just has to look out for any problematic seats where its not closed enough. It never seemed much different to loading inverts. On Riddlers I saw it where people accidentally let the harness rise to high and had to get their row unlocked and reset...The two stage process seemed quite cumbersome at times...funny to watch though :P

From what I remember from Tatsu, the system locks with harness and feet simultaneously, then reports in the booth if something is detected wrong, then the loaders must also do a manual check, then it needed two buttons to confirm the launch (but I think that's the same for most coasters)

From memory I didn't find Riddler too uncomfortable, although some idiots thought it would be funny to bounce up and down in the restraint while everyone was loading. Not so funny when it suddenly locked and they were stuck partially crouching.

^Haha, I've seen that happen to one of the douchebag kids that inhabit the park, but stuck the opposite way, with feet not touching the ground. They had to cry out to the ride op to "rescue" them and unlock the row so they could lower it down again.

I'd say here the problem is fools will close the restraint without their legs in the proper position. I don't know what it is but Australian's just seem to have so much difficulty with ride restraints.

No argument from me. Australia has to have some of the worst customer service ever. It's a rare surprise when you get good customer service.
