A new exhibit is opening up at Sea World in mid 2015

Get ready for a world-first experience coming to Sea World mid 2015. Featuring some of the most legendary sea creatures including the mythical Kraken this attraction will delight and amaze guests of all ages.

Sea World has confirmed that this will not be replacing the Sea Viper. Any thoughts?

How are they going to incorporate the kraken?

My guess is that it's a replacement for the indoor section of Dinosaur Island, so the Kraken will most likely be an animatronic similar to many of the dinosaurs

Yeah Dinosaur Island replacement. The idea has been kicking around for quite a while, and to be honest I thought the idea was dead. Wouldnt be surprised if it is in response to Corkscrews closure.

It certainly doesn't sound like a bad idea. Will it just be replacing the indoor section of Dinosaur island or will it also replace the outdoor portion too?

Dinosaur Island wasn't even that great in my opinion....

I'm not surprised that SW are getting an attraction like this. A replacement of Dinosaur Island sounds most likely. They might construct a new building on the outdoor section of Dinosaur Island since it isn't used anymore. From what I can remember and I could be mistaken, but the building used for Dinosaur Island wasn't that big for this attraction.

On another note: The SpongeBob Parade is finishing on the 10th October. The characters will still be a part of the park.

Sounds like this will be a much better fit for Seaworld than the dinosaurs which I always felt were a little out of place.

Most likely going to replace the indoor section of Dinosaur Island. I don't think anything's there. But what Sea World really need are more rides!

Given they have a wedding booking thing available and 2 separate function rooms, I'd say they're pretty popular

I'd say that the first shot was taken near to where the entrance to Dinosaur Island was looking just to the east of the main entrance.

Anyone with nearmap got an updated shot of the land? Hasn't it changed quite a bit since the google maps photo?

Looking at google maps, I think that building in the first photo is the one positioned on the lake:

Maybe part of the reclaimed land will be used for Creatures from the Deep.

Isn't that a boat shed? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that it was a service area and not an area available to guests

Hence, why in my opinion I think that this attraction will be on the reclaimed land.
