The castle is undergoing a repaint. You can really see the difference in the last photo. And the rides information and safety board is gone too.

That building has 100% been repainted, it used to be a cream color with a orange / brown color around the posters. I guess it goes with the theme but if they are keeping the outside of the building the same I think the old color scheme looked nicer.

Went through some past photos, and comparing the new vs old paint job, it now looks so much better and much more fitting with the castle

Holefully they plan to pressure clean the extended queue floor and path areas around it, because they really need it. And hopefully they also replaced/fix all of the queue railings, especially inside. Because a lot of them just fall over when slightly touched

Because so many people can't read the signs that are very clearly posted everywhere saying "Do not climb, sit or swing on queue rails or chains".

Perhaps a mandatory lesson in reading basic English should be a requirement prior to being allowed on the ride?

Nope.  There's a fair number of guests in the park on any given day that do not understand English and they should be welcomed.

Yes, provided they have the common sense to know not to damage park property!

@pushbutton oh I agree with you, but when I went on the ride a week before it closed, the chains in the castle queue area weren’t even fixed in place, and if you slightly knocked it, they fell out

Yeah. That's a maintenance issue,  and a very basic one at that!

He's replying to the first page in the thread.

And @Outlaw Run Fanboy, it's because they're owned by the same studio. Around 90% of the stuff sold or on show etc in the park is because WB/AOL have their dicks in it one way or another. From owning to DC and Hanna Barbera (Justice League and Scooby respectively), to the eateries (Ricks is from Casablanca, and Dirty Harry is in the name), to the shows like Bonnie and Clyde (1967) or just making them in general (HWSD), Stemming to the merch. Harry potter is WB made, and they probably got the in park rights for the Elvis merch due to the 1981 biopic they made.

+Rac2703 Then why do they have Harry Potter merch in some of their shops?

Because it is only merchandise and not an attraction. There is nothing stopping a park from selling a certain licensed property. Hell King's Island had a store selling both DC and Marvel merchandise. Selling merchandise is completely different to opening an attraction based on the IP.

The front castle is looking great. Im not really that interested in an escape door.

After doing some Instagram searching, it looks like The Bakery Design Co. is/could be the company that will be doing the project mapping/visual effects for the ride.

I really hope the upgrades are just more then a half assed light/laser show!

Look up "Projection Mapping" on Youtube to get a bit of an idea of what some of it will be like.

We're definitely not talking about a half-assed light/laser show!!!

I've seen 3D projection mapping in real life and it sure doesn't have as much of an impact then what physical theming has. I did read that the new refurbishment will also include a mix of physical theming and props, so who knows, they may pull it off, definitely hope so!

Have you seen videos of Mystic Manor, that’s a great example of what projection mapping can do when combined with physical props.
