I've been on a couple of wing coasters, they are very average in my opinion, pretty tame.

What do we know? It's Mack (unless they put out some old Scooby Doo coaster boxes to throw us off lol - disclaimer: I am joking). It's taking up a sizable tract of land. Everything else: speculation.

Hopefully it will be too hard to hide what it is in a couple of months. I'm looking forward to seeing this rise up.

My perfect park would have some sort of RMC/Intamin/Mack airtime machine, but then at the other end of the spectrum I'd have a B&M wing or flyer, with the full knowledge that offers a less intense experience.

I think its important parks offer both styles of thrill coasters....an intense relentless ride appeals to some, but then at the same time a pleasant experience that comes close to flying would speak to many others.

^I hear you there from a business perspective. Parks have to cater to a spectrum of intensity thresholds. I still enjoy the lower threshold rides, even if I prefer more intense ones. I mean I even ride Jaguar! (always been intrigued by the exclamation mark) every Knott's visit, it's all fun.

From a purely personal preference perspective, the more intense the better lol.

The only winged coaster I have ridden is The Swarm at Thorpe Park. I thought it was a great ride, very fun, thrilling and smooth; it accentuates the feeling of gliding and swooping like a bird. It's a very re-rideable ride. I don't get the comments that winged coasters are all 'forceless'. That's an over exaggeration. The coaster has forces, but the forces onset gradually and change smoothly. There is no ejector airtime, but you experience hangtime through the loops, and pull some good G's through the turns and at the bottom of the first drop.

This is the beauty of coasters. There's no set of criteria that can really tell you what makes coasters better than others, it's all about what they make you feel. If I'm in the mood for flying I'll ride a B&M winged, if I'm in the mood to go fast I'll ride an Intamin accelerator, if I want to go down massive drops and soar over huge airtime hills I'll ride a hyper of some sort, if I want to disorient myself and experience something a bit crazy I'll ride something with lots of inversions.

The possibilities are really endless, and it explains why even amongst people who have ridden the same coasters they'll place them all in a different order. Personally I find it so hard to order mine, every ride usually offers something different to another one in the same park.

Kinda like cars for me, you can only properly compare a coaster with another coaster that's designed to do the same thing. You don't compare a Nissan Pulsar with a Lamborghini for example, just like you don't compare a B&M Hyper with a Vekoma SLC. However, just like you can compare a Pulsar with a Mazda 323, you can compare different coasters that are trying to do the same thing, like B&M Inverts and Vekoma SLCs, there's even argument to be made that these coasters are offering different experiences.

I would love something along the lines of Maverick @ CP. A really nicely themed one would fit MW perfectly IMO. It'll probably be a bit tamer than that though.

Yes a coaster like Maverick would be sick, but it ain't happening son. Think about it, WBMW aren't gonna add in a second Intimin launch coaster to a park that needs variety, it would actually be a terrible idea IMO as each coaster would steal each others thunder if you know what i mean.

All movie worlds thrill coasters are between 30-40 metres, i would actually be pretty devastated if the new coaster doesn't at least surpass 40 metres in height at a minimum.

The launches on Maverick are pretty cool. The first one gets you up a conventional hill and then you hit a beyond 90 degree drop at a good speed - crazy in the back row.

The second launch is like they pressed the fast forward button on the ride and it's a real kick, the  coaster goes up another level.

Everything is a lot of fun on that ride.

Quick question for the people with more knowledge.  I can see who’s installing the foundations for the ride and which company is overseeing the installation of the ride.  Do Mack Rides employees come to Australia to erect the coaster?

Of course, this would-be speculation but if a team from Mack Rides do come to oz..

Would skeet be right in thinking now the track installers have finished in Germany that after a short break the same installers would come to MW.  It’s going to be a big weather shock for them coming from Germany to Australia.   At least Night Quarter do a nice German Sausage.

In Europe RCS GMBH get a lot of work because they are specialists in ride assembly, and EU laws make it easy for them to work across the continent.

Before RMC started building their own coasters they worked in a similar niche in the US market.

But any competent construction company can do the work, with supervision by the ride manufacturer.

The first launch is pretty cool - the back seat on that hill really whips you over.

The second launch felt pretty pointless to me.. slows down almost immediately after it without doing anything >_>
