Superman Escape’s Anniversary

Yesterday Superman Escape turned 14 and I was wondering for those who have been riding it for as long as it’s been around, what changes have their been to the ride since it originally opened. I know the water effect is hit and miss in recent times and they don’t have the smoke coming out of the pipes anymore, but is there anything else? Are there any changes or improvements to the ride overall you’d like to see?

Probably most significant is when the steam effects were decommissioned but other than that the park has done a pretty good job of up-keeping this attraction which is unique and actually does fit the classification of being world class.

Do you know why the steam was decommissioned?

If my memory serves me correct, the reason I was told they stopped the steam effect was dropping hot drops of water on riders as opposed to just steam. It was an actual steam effect and not just fog juice. I do remember getting hit in the face with the water drops a few times towards the end of it, so the story made sense.
