Not surprised about the log ride retirement, but hopefully this will lead to exciting things for this area of the park.

With the coaster, if the first pieces of equipment aren't arriving until May, does this refer to track or machines to begin construction. If its the later, then will the coaster still be open by Summer?

Seems like the Hot Wheels deal will be no more then. I wonder if it will return to a theme to match in with Ocean Parade? Maybe the Grid Burgers will also be updated to suit.

The ride will just be called Sidewinder and nothing more too it

Leaving India’s Nitro as the world’s only roller coaster themed to Hot Wheels! 😆

The spiral queue allows for wheel chair access, so they can’t just remove it

Rip it out. Build a ramp & stairs. Bobs your uncle.

Does anyone know why it was built like that in the first place or was it just for theming?

Themeing and access meets having a ride station 20m off the ground. That's how you end up with a spiral ramp

Replacing a ramp with a ramp?

Is it just me, or is the new addition to ABC KIDS World clearly Bluey? They would make an incredibly popular character meet and greet.

Yep, I'd better start saving up for passes!

Hmm.. there already is a ramp and stairs, why would u knock it down and build more ramps and stairs?

You can’t have a steep ramp, it has to be a gradual rise, hence the spiral.

From memory, the stairs are fire exit stairs so they weren’t intended to be used as such.

All I’m saying is it’s a bad design & sure, if they needed a spiral ramp for wheelchair guests, then do what you gotta do but you shouldn’t make normal guests take the same route.

Whenever I have been with others, they always complain about having to walk down the spiral after the ride, so maybe exit stairs would be a solution

Spiral queue also has the advantage of being able to hold a large number of people without the need for a long switchback queue. There's two ramps though, inside and outside so realistically no reason you couldn't get rid of one but why spend all the money when you have to pay to replace something that's working as intended now and would offer no real additional benefit.

Cool man. Progressive thinking there.

The queue spiral also serves a purpose to get you to the station level, in an accessible way for everyone. Cyclone when it was Big Dipper was built among buildings etc at Luna Park, so the station was quite high up off ground level. the spiral queue/ building helps raise guests to the station level, whilst at the time of opening also helped fit the Cyclone themeing.

If there is another way to bring guests to the station level, keeping accessibility high, keen to hear everyones thoughts.
