Fair point. Thank you for clarifying Joz. Updated question though, who’s to say the guy who posted it (Luke) isn’t the guy who made it? Secondly, If Luke is who I think Luke is, I know he’s a nice guy, and if it is him that made it, hardly a fuckwit.

Queensland will open its border to New South Wales from 1:00am on November 3, but it will remain closed to Greater Sydney and Victoria, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says.

Ms Palaszczuk said the decision — which has been made on the eve of the state election — was based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer, who is concerned about community transmission of the virus in southern states.

Good news for anyone in NSW (not Sydney though) itching for a visit to the Parks.

'Entire arrangement is bulls***'

The company that operates Gold Coast theme parks Movie World and Sea World said the decision was "really disappointing".

Village Roadshow chief operating officer Bikash Randhawa said 70 per cent of their visitors from New South Wales come from the Greater Sydney area.

"The market that we are dealing with is a very small market right now," Mr Randhawa said.

"I'm just not sure how long we can sustain this, I am not sure how long this city can sustain this.

"It's really disappointing, you know you've got mums and dads businesses that are suffering, you've got people that are suffering, you've got employees that are not back on full time," he said.

Mr Randhawa said the "entire arrangement is bullshit".

He suggested the decision to keep the border closed to Greater Sydney could have state election implications.

"We'll see what happens tomorrow, we'll see what happens with the election, we'll see how the people will take this decision today," he said.

"In two days' time you might be looking at something different."

Current Village management in a nutshell

How so? They decided to wade into state politics during an election in a very vocal way thats definitely rubbing people in the wrong way.

But why is that management in a nutshell? Aside from covid related border restrictions, what other management decisions recently are the same as this?

This is the whole problem. They chose money over people and it's constantly rubbing people in the wrong way because management are just coming off as children having tantrums anytime there's a camera around.

how so? How have they chosen money over people exactly? By being vocal about an issue (borders) that is currently 100% dictated by politics and elections and 0% to do with public health or safety?

Theres no logical reason that a 40,000 person grand final can go ahead but Sydney remains shut off because of a tiny handful of isolated cases. Its all election nonsense.

Watch things open up very quickly in coming weeks regardless of who wins todays election. Its 100% politics. So why not wade in and get vocal if you're village and getting shafted probably more than almost any other publicly listed company?

Dictated by politics, but all parties refuse to open the borders fully and instead state they will follow health advice which says to keep things closed? Where is the great change going to come from?

A 40,000 people grand final didnt go ahead. It was a 25k one. The capacity has been part of the increase in restrictions, we've gone to stage 4 since october which now allows sporting venues to 75% capacity. Previous to stage 4 it was 50%. Then previous to that 25%. It's slowly been inching its way along since june. You know? following that whole road map the government put out about covid restrictions. Months ago.....

This government cops it from both sides from people, if they deviate from the plan they will be crucified. If they follow the plan, they are destroying the economy and ruining peoples lives. You know what the majority of people seem to be saying? Great. You guys are sticking to your plan and not bowing to interstate politics, not matter how hard the other states (and even the prime minister) scream and shout. All this grandstanding has gotten both nsw and certainly victoria in trouble and the majority of queenslanders seem to be saying what we do with our own state is our business.

What actual statement by village do you disagree with though? And where are these tantrums exactly?

How do you explain areas of Brisbane remaining fully open when there’s a community outbreak but areas of NSW shut off from Qld despite no cases in months? (prior to last weeks easing off border restrictions)

You can’t, not from a scientific viewpoint. Because it’s been an us vs them, qld vs nsw, ALP vs LNP parochial gamble ahead of an election that paid off. I don’t even hate it and I voted for this govt to stay but I’m not going to pretend that the nsw border hasn’t been pure politics
