The Parkz Update: Movie World, September 19 2011
As if to try and take some of the attention from Dreamworld's Buzzsaw opening, Movie World officially announced Green Lantern over the weekend. As track piles up at Movie World ahead of vertical construction, we take a look at Green Lantern's construction.

It should be said that it's refreshing to see our parks finally embrace the idea of announcing rides to fans when construction begins, not when it's nearly complete. With this out of the way, let's take a look at Green Lantern this week:
With Green Lantern's track and supports being stored on the carpark and park entrance road, green signage directs traffic to safety.
More green track has shown up at Movie World. Here we have the first piece of the lift hill, with the anti-rollback teeth in all their jagged glory.
Some extreme photo angles to give you a taste for some of the extreme track angles to come.
Plenty of track has shown up in recent days. We wager that plenty more will show up before too long.
Don't you hate finally finding a park only to discover that the coaster track next to you has parked way over the line?
Over the weekend Movie World finally revealed the name and some basic stats for Riddler's Revenge, The Incredible Hulk, Green Goblin, Green Lantern.
And over at the construction site we're seeing footings in place.
Parkz has it on good authority that the Green Lantern concept was only chosen when Movie World realised they could save $800 by incorporating this green fence into the theme.
With all this Mummy theming, it looks like Green Lantern will be getting in on the Halloween action this year despite not even being open.
Of course stay tuned to Parkz as we bring you all the latest from Green Lantern as it goes vertical.
