Koalas tend to sleep a lot...

Koala exhibits tend not to contain real trees, they'd soon be stripped. Rather a collection of branches give them something to climb on, with sections of pipe used to hold fresh cuttings of leaves for them to munch on.

The aviary is a bit industrial looking, constructed of chainlink mesh.

One of the most substantial exhibits is an elevated boardwalk past the koalas and into an aviary.

It's quite a colony!

The cockatoo aviary has a bit of a contemporary Australian look to it.

These guys have lived at the park for many years prior, so they readily speak to guests.

The cockatoo enclosure is a highlight.

They live in an arid habitat.

A sunken viewing area allows you to see inside the wombat burrow.

The Southern Hairy Nosed wombat is the smallest of the three species found in Australia.

If it wasn't for the roller door it would look like a pretty convincing bush outcrop.

Inside the cave is your usual collection of glass cabinets and dimmed lighting.

The rockwork of the critter cave is intricately detailed with lichens.

At the very bottom of the Wildlife Trail you'll find a mob of kangaroos.
