Wiggles World opens at Dreamworld
Dreamworld's newest children's area opens to the public.
Wiggles World saw a complete redevelopment of the existing "Gum Tree Gully" area. The attraction saw entirely new attractions and amenities go into place to give the entire area a refreshing "wiggle" touch. The headline attraction is the Big Red Car, a 120m long ride that is the first new traditional dark ride in Australia in over 15 years. The ride, developed by New Zealand company Simtech, features a completely trackless design - a feature which has not yet been seen in Australia. This means riders can't clearly see where the ride will lead them.
The attraction, with a top speed of 2km/hr - touted as Dreamworld's first thrill ride for three year-olds - takes up to six riders per car on a journey around the Wigglehouse for a Sunday drive with a difference. Along the way riders stop in on The Wiggles and all the gang for a sing-a-long fun and games.
Also part of Wiggles World is the Fun Spot Activity Centre, filled with fun, educational games and all your favourite Wiggles music. Children and grown-ups alike can get down to the serious business of fun.
The nearby Farmyard Friends has been brought into the Wiggles' family, where guests can experience baby farm animals up-close and personal.
Docked on the banks of the river is the S.S. Feathersword, Captain Feathersword's mighty vessel, complete with 18m high masts and an observation deck and portholes to make a voyage on the high seas complete.
Guests will also have a chance to get some Wiggly shopping done with the world's only exclusively Wiggles merchandise store. When lunchtime comes Yummy Yummy is the place, serving delicious fun and healthy choices to fill the tummy with yummy treats.
Daily appearances and performances by everyone's favourite Wiggles characters will take place and The Wiggles themselves will return to their home whenever their touring schedule permits.
The attraction marks the first Wiggles attraction across the world. It's a truly impressive feat considering the worldwide popularity of the children's group, and their ties with world-class entertainment precincts, including wildly popular regular appearances at Disneyland. The group could literally choose any location in the world to build their home.
