Pilgrims Plunge Overview
Guests travel along a short river section, before being taken up a vertical lift to the rides high point, before plunging down a large drop to the splashdown.
The vertical lift is of the unique type, where two platforms operate on the same 'shaft' . As one platform is rising, the other is decending, and an S bend in the shaft allows both platforms to pass each other at the mid point.
At the time of opening it was the worlds tallest water ride.
