The Parkz Update: Movie World, September 22 2011

Construction goes vertical on Green Lantern at Warner Bros. Movie World.

Green Lantern has gone vertical in the past few days. The first track to go in place is the station area; complete with brackets that will eventually hold 'kicker wheels' to advance te cars into and out of the station.

Following the station the track bends around and straight into the lift hill.

El Loco coasters feature a particularly steep lift hill.

El Locos have a relatively unqiue support structure that is based around four-column towers with many cantilevered arms.

Like Dreamworld's new Buzzsaw, Green Lantern will dominate the skyline at the park entrance.

What Green Lantern lacks in height to Buzzsaw it will well and truly make up for in length and complexity.

And from inside the park we see groundwork underway for the ride's entrance. With Batwing Spaceshot, Superman Escape, Lethal Weapon and now Green Lantern all feeding off the main entrance plaza, the front of the park has in a few short years become a thrill ride mecca.

And out in the carpark it's no surprise that track and supports are still arriving.

This is not a car park coaster.

This is.

The DC Comics store in the park will need almost no transformation into ride shop when Green Lantern opens.

The on-ride photo system for the shop is even ready to go. And it wouldn't be a Movie World installation without a Movie World themed ceiling.
