A female rider has died after falling out of The Raven apparently her lap bar was very high as the ride ops dont push them right down . This is sad news and be thankful next time you are at Dreamworld on Wipeout and when the bar comes down and you joke that you cant breath "thats and good thing" I have a couple of mates (Dan and Robb) who went to Hoilday world in santa cruz Indiana I hope this hasn't reck there trip special seeing this is Dan 1st trip to the great Stark Raving Mad annual event that the park holds each year. anyway check out the offical press release below http://www.holidayworld.com/

if you could pick wet n wild's next slide which one would you pick. (I did this topic as I know any slide could be possible for wet n wild as slides dont cost the same amount as 30 million dollar coasters do.) Mine would be Neptune's Fury which is the new attraction at Raging Waters in San Dimas California (you know the water park from the Bill and Ted movie) heres the description you experience the wrath of Neptune, ancient god of the seas, as he controls the raging waters of the world. This 600-foot-long wild ride plunges a four-man rafter into total darkness through a 9 foot diamater tunnel and down a 60-foot drop at 30 miles per hour. If that doesn’t get your heart pumping, the fury of the thousands of gallons of water pushing you through the enclosed rapids will.

well a couple of weeks ago on westcoaster there was a post about a australia company that wanted to open a sex theme park in Las Vegas maybe they are doing a park down here next to wonderland thats what the warehouses are for. The part about the aussie company want to open a sex park in Vegas is true , but the rest I made up as a joke. so dont hate me  the trashheap has spoken

seaworld new attraction to open september school hoildays
Ian replied to Ian's topic in Theme Park Discussion
when the september hoildays roll around I will take a visit to the park to visit the attraction and mates working at the park. because even thou the attraction may be "green" its better then no attraction at all. -
just a question guys In your own opions do you think Luna park will ever get any new rides in the future or will the park go in the direction of maintain the rides and parks instead. In my own opion I would like to see a huge wooden coaster built and themed to look like it is 100 years old.

not one person in the on ride photo has there hands up except you "whats wrong with these people" just joking flea look like you had a great time. I live across the road from Dreamworld now and can see the giant drop from outside, makes me want to go over there but I would rather buy a year pass next January as I feel nothing big will be happening this year. plus if I need a one off fix this year I will get a staff pass from movieworld.

YaY Harry potter is gone, I mean I loved the ride but I am no longer 10, and matrix is more my thing. I have taken loads of photos of Harry Potter and one day will release a guide on this attraction. As for how movieworld is going , the weekend was great 2700 on saturday and 3000 sunday it is quiet cool that even though sars and crap is going around the domestic people are coming to Queensland from around Australia and New Zealand. Because as far as I concerned theses numbers are great for the middle of winter.

and This new film even thou it will have a green theme, will end when a SNAKE jumps out and try's to bite the audience. -
Marineland in Canada is about to get the worlds tallest S&S Tower at 450 feet. The vehicles will reach speeds of 60mph when launched up and then down. http://www.marinelandcanada.com/attraction...newattractions/ so now it would be good if dreamworld saw this and made there next ride something special

How does De ja' Veu compare to a standard bommerang?
Ian replied to inTIMidated's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The only ones that do anything for me in Australia are TOT and Lethal Weapon and Scobby Doo IMO after riding many coasters worldwide they are the only decent ones IMO sorry cyclone does nothing for me. over the next few years it would be nice if we could get 4 new coasters speard between Wonderland, Movieworld and Dreamworld a hyper, floorless , impulse and wooden (like ghostrider or roar) that way at least we have a good mix of coasters in australia. -

thanks dude good to hear other peoples reports Ive been on Ghostrider a couple of times and is one of my favorites out there. I need to do X, de javu and scream to finish my sfmm credits and xcellerator at knotts. cant wait to get back over there. top 5 (ive ridden) (1) Speed (las vegas) (2) Ghostrider (3) riddlers revenge (4) Goliath (5) california screamin -
nice photos I think if WnW was to get a coaster it would be more like a flying super saturator like at paramount's carowinds click here for photos and specs http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail598.htm also imagin the aerial shots of chicks in binkines from up there

djrappa and B&Mfan how you guys find psyclone and the security at sfmm , from my trips security has always been a pain at sfmm, but unlike alot of americans I dont mind psyclone. also did you guys get to ride flashback I know its rough but so much fun. -
seen the on ride footage on Robb Avery European tape very nice ride indeed. I need something like that at work (movieworld) or Dreamworld as I now live across the road from dreamworld can see the tower from upstairs. Its good to have internation members on the boards too by the way

From today "thursday 22nd" MW is back to all rides and attractions open from 10am to 5pm. The ride roatation was a test and after 2 weeks operations have decided the old way was better. As for dreamworld any business competes thats natural but Warner Village theme parks and Dreamworld still have a good relationship on a business level. Because at any emplyee awards meeting that we have ever 3 months Steve Peet always mention what our 3 parks plus Dreamworld have coming up. Because they beleve any tourist coming for a week or 2 are likely to do MW, DW and SW so why not promote the coast. Its the same with the movies Matrix made by Warner Bros filmed in FOX studios Sydney. Peter Pan made by Universal filmed at Warner Bros studios Gold Coast This is the great thing that I like about Australia you wouldnt see this in other countries, so its great that Australians see that Australia comes 1st. I hope all the above has clear up some info

I will be at sfmm early august so I will know then also the big difference supended and 90 deg drops at about 200 ft i beleve here a photo I took in may 2001 when i was at sfmm http://www.totalthrills.com/forums/album_p...ge.php?pic_id=7 -
in our staff newsletter today it said this promotion is to help with the domestic customers for the winter

Are they doing anything with the new matrix movie?
Ian replied to Shaun's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I didnt mean it competes what I was trying to say is it is a movie studio type theme park. like if you went to, say knotts or sfmm then went to universal (as a coaster fan) of course universal would let you down a bit, and thats the same down thrill = dreamworld family/ movie = WBMW water = WNW sea life= seaworld and remember we dont have the money to be building just $20 millon coaster each year. -
the weekend was busy both days and we double our budget in most shops which was nice. around 2500 each day attendance wise

Ian replied to Shaun's topic in Theme Park Discussion
sometimes I think people forget that warner bros movie world gold coast is A MOVIE THEME PARK which competes against UNIVERSAL STUDIOS IN HOLLYWOOD and last I saw they dont have 1 coaster. as for people who go to movieworld they are not all teenages and young adults who run for lethal weapon they are alot of people who come to see shows and movie stuff. -
the cutbacks you talk about rich, are happening at all 3 parks, and if you turn on the tv recently you would notice a thing call SARS and terror in the world. Australia international market is down 58% this year but the domestic is up. movieworld is doing attendance of around 2000 - 2300 a day at the moment, problem is domestic people dont spend on stuff like retail and tend to bring there only lunch. and movieworld still has the highest attendance in the week of all parks. the rides that close at different times are the least popular ones as well I might add.

dont worry mate I will be providing great coverage when the time comes. but heres some advertising anyway -
I have arrived Thunder Bolt, Australia's number 1 roller coaster for hip replacements This is my opinon on this subject could go 2 ways (1) Do a similar job to what Kennywood in the states did with steel phantom by retracking and renaming it phantom revenge. Thunder Bolt could become Thunder Struck. http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail123.htm (for info) (2) Taking all the track up and redoing the whole ride. But as mention before Dreamworld havent said anything yet, and my reliable source says dont even look for a announcement or ride till at least November 2004. and remember no matter what happens a 2 year budget will be great for whatever Dreamworld gets. THE KING HAS NOW LEFT THE BUILDING
