But then you've also got to transport that timber out of the park and landscape the area to make it suitable for the ride. Anyway, sorry for going off the topic, let's get back to WNW
-
Sounds great. Thanks for the update.
-
Wow, sounds great! I love terrain coasters, too.
-
Exactly, they can't really suck it back out of the ground.

I'm aware of that aidan, but years schooling have also taught me that cutting down trees requires alot of time and money...something dreamworld most probabaly wouldn't want to be doing if they are already spending money on a ride....
-
In saying that, Dreamworld must be running out of space quickly too aren't they? If my memory serves me correctly they are surrounded by alot of trees. Correct me if I am wrong, though.

Can you tell us? ...Please

You raise good points Mickey. Even though it would look great on the skline I think Batwing and this new ride near LW should be the last to go there. Because: 1. As Mickey said already, MW will lose people going in to the "adventure" area, which I think is a shame as it is one of the best landscaped and themed areas of the park. 2. Think of the congestion! All those people hanging around in the one spot would really be a nightmare. It is a shame about the whinging neighbours... If they did't want the noise why did they move there in the first place?! This si just like the NSW Luna Park scenario where all those neighbours complained about the noise. It is more understandable in Sydney as there is limited housing, though. I think they should put at least one new attraction, not near the looney tunes village, but towards areas lik WWF, police academy stunt show or the SSSC, which are may not be the most thrilling areas of the park, but still are fun. By the way, I do think of Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster as a thrill ride.

Gazza, in regards to your post (post #11) you sure did set things straight. Good job on making yourself understood!

I was surprised they were going to put a golf resort in Goulburn. Because, as Chaos-Maniac said, golf courses require alot of water for maintenance, and and the thing is-Goulburn has run out of water! They have to get bottled water carted in on trucks. They can't water playing fields or anything! Whoever thinks they put a golf course there is a tad silly .

Sorry, I know this is from a while back in the topic..... You're right, it was originally used to transport coal to the top of the mountain. The depression left the mine unprofitable so the owners converted it into a tourist attraction. The Mountain Devil was constructed in around 1933. You can see a replica of the MD at the bottom of the scenic railway. Orphan Rocker is the first roller coaster to be designed and built in Australia. Consequently, it perhaps holds the record for the longest ongoing construction period, which has been underway for around 20 years. It is also at Scenic World. http://www.roller-coaster.com.au/coaster.php?cid=24 Forum: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/in...?showtopic=2691 I coincidentally started the topic .

Oh, my apoligies .

I agree...when I visited MW with my family in april we decided to go to the SE first as we could get near to the front of the queue. They only had one train operating, but I wasn't too worried about it, as I was expecting a long wait anyway. The ride wasn't running properly and it didn't make it all the way up and over. We decided to leave the queue as we couldnt be bothered to wait around, so we joined the queue for LW. They only had one train operating because the other one wasn't working. We decided to stay, even though it was a long wait. After riding, though, my uncle went and complained at guests services and we got escorted to the front of the queue at SE . A handy hint to keep in mind. If I were working at MW I would be very nervous running two trains at once on such a fast ride like SE...in case a failure such as the one I mentioned occured, even though that's probably just me being my usual worrying self .

What I reckon would be great would be if there were an Aqua Trax that exteded throughout the whole park....I mean surely they'd have the funds thay haven't done anything for 5 years!!

I think that WVTP is smart in this way as they can focus their energies on bringing in different groups of people, a good way to make money. I'd say that DW are not bringing out any major rides at the moment because (just a theory) if a new, exciting ride were launched at DW now, it would overshadow Whitewater World, possibly reducing either the attraction at DW or Whitewater World itself, to a footnote.

Article: Sydney Wildlife World Opens
Swanny replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think it will be a temporary change. For a while every1 will be attracted 2 the fact that it is new...but people also want to see animals other than native animals...which is a shame becaoz i think natives are the best . -
I went to Scenic World for the first time in 2003. I sort of wondered what the rollercoaster was, but then forgot about it.... i went back just recently and it revived my memory of it. Her is the link for it: http://www.roller-coaster.com.au/coaster.php?cid=24 From what I have seen I would think the most thrilling factor of the coaster would be the fact that you're being whisked around on sharp precipices, cliffs and mountains. Does anyone know why it hasn't yet been opened/completed?

o-i wish that i could go to movie world at night...

thank you! -
I think that it is smartthey have a procedure like this in effect, but the fact that it is $1 to rent a locker. When I was there my Uncle lost money-he had to give it to one of the ride employee people coz he didn't want to pay for a locker. I don't want to be paying for things like that after I've already payed the entrance fee-even if it is only a dollar. They should make use of them free.

Construction underway on Movie World's newest ride
Swanny replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Warner Bros. Movie World sure does pop out their rides fast-I didn't know Superman ESCAPE was coming out until September last year when I saw and ad on MSN, and even then I thought it was for a foreign park! How do they construct them so quickly?? I also think theming very much adds to the atmosphere and thrill of the ride....and Movie World is very good at theming., and I hope they do well with this ride. Theming is something places like Luna Park and even local fetes and fairs lacks, one of the reasons why I don't like either of those places. By the way is Batwing the name of the ride? -
Woa. thats realy sad. He was certainly a very important part of Australia. R.I.P
