Elmer Fudd would be a good idea for a shooter if a new ride goes in the Looney Tunes River Ride building but would kids be wanting to shoot Bugs Bunny if they play the part of Elmer Fudd? I personally think a Marvin the Martian space-themed shooter ride would be a better idea. Kinda goes along the lines of the Buzz Lightyear one at Disneyland.

I wonder if they could make use of the old Skylink Chairlift site to expand this rollercoaster?
-
I noticed that you can edit the database now. Can someone tell me if it is actually working so I add all the details about Kangaroo Island?
-
Strange - 3 days after Thunder River Rapids reopened, Dreamworld has posted this on its maintenance page: "Rapid Ride annual maintenance and for construction 25 May to 22 June 2011" Would the construction be for the supports laying out front of the park? Because come to think of it the current colour of it would suit Gold Rush Country. I feel weird being pretty much the only person looking at the maintenance pages lol

If they are Disko supports, wouldnt they be 'vivid sea green'? It saves them painting it.

Bermuda Triangle is officially closed... Now what?
Jamberoo Fan replied to reginaphalange's topic in Theme Park Discussion
You never know they may make a 'Bermuda Triangle 2' and relaunch it like the Tower Of Terror. They are both iconic rides and Bermuda Triangle's opening in 1994 did cause Sea World to have record attendance compared to when it was 'Lassiter's Lost Mine' which used the same ride system. Bermuda Triangle is my favourite ride so far even though I didn't ride it in it's full glory and i will sorely miss it. -
Ok thanks. I got a 'gold mine' of information on the 'Kangaroo Island' development so I thought I would update the database. Just curious because I noticed 'Shockwave' got updated lately. Yeh lol I do know how to spell 'kangaroo'. I often make spelling mistakes when typing fast.

In a news article in today's Illawarra Mercury about the sales & marketing director of Ocean Park Hong Kong giving advice to Jamberoo Action Park due to the announcement of Wet 'n' Wild Sydney, Jim Eddy said that once the new Kangaroo Island area is approved and built, they will have two years before they introduce another major ride. By the way, is it still possible at all to update the database entries on the website?

I saw Dreamworld's Twitter just then - Thunder River Rapids re-opens on Monday. Just saying in case it has any effect on your views on what is happening in the bus parking/helipad area. Thunder River Rapids had delays in its maintaining.

With all the rumours about Looney Tunes River Ride, Lethal Weapon and Batman Adventure - The Ride 2 being replaced, refurbished etc., i'm just wondering why it is a complete coincidence that these are the only three rides currently featured in the 'Attractions Maintenance' page of Movie World's website: "The LOONEY TUNES River Ride is closed until further notice. LETHAL WEAPON will be closed for scheduled maintenance 3 - 15 May 2011 inclusive. BATMAN Adventure - The Ride 2 will be closed for scheduled maintenance 16 May - 26 June 2011 inclusive." I do notice that Lethal Weapon's scheduled maintenance is over according to the website so if it is getting a major refurb they probably have already started and now refurbing the theming and pre-ride entertainment (esp since they have closed the Lethal Weapon shop, the walkway between the Lethal Weapon and Superman Escape & the pre-ride stuff). Batman Adventure - The Ride 2 has started its maintenance & will finish it for now so I presume it won't be closed down unless they do something like with Bermuda Triangle. Does it really take 1 month to maintain Batman Adventure - The Ride 2 normally? Unless the 1 month time period is due to the construction out front. As for Looney Tunes River Ride, it could be refurbed or replaced. Who knows? Woo! My 100th post...lol

Remember that the MISCELLANEOUS COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE is the type of class the development is in. It isnt the description of what is being developed...kinda. Anyway, something in the RETAIL/DINING/SERVICES class was also lodged yesterday for Entertainment Road, Oxenford.

I absoultely agree. I wished that theme parks kept their orginal themed areas and when they decide to build new rides/atttractions that they either incorporate it into an existing themed area, build a whole new area in some vacant land or retheme an existing area. Retheming a whole new area is cheaper than building a new one but they shouldnt put rides in areas that dont match the theme. AVPX and Motocoaster at Dreamworld are my two examples as they dont relate to the ocean or to 'Rivertown'. The old Blue Lagoon water park area could be totally refurbished and used as a new themed area. The Vintage Cars could have remained where they were and they could have put the Motocoaster where Blue Lagoon was with its station where the old Skylink Chairlift started in Gold Rush Country or they could have put AVPX there where every other temporary ride like Nightmares as been. I think Shockwave's theme is alright just hopefully the public can understand it, like the Tower of Terror's theme (both I and II) I still can't understand. And whatever ride they are building at the old bus parking area i hope is themed to Gold Rush Country because i presume its entrance will be where the Helipad's entrance is.

VIllage Roadshow Studios Gold Coast 2018
Jamberoo Fan replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Cool, at least those visitors to the Narnia set got to go in a studio. I found a YouTube vid of a couple of pics of it. It didn't show much but it was Sound Stage 5 lol. Come to think of it, if they got the sets of all the well-known movies filmed there (Narnia, Scooby-Doo, Peter Pan, House Of Wax etc.) and kept them it would have been an good studio tour nowadays if it was open. Anyway, this topic was to be about using the studios as a sporting venue for the Commonwealth Games not the potential of a new studio tour lol -

Aw ok cool. Too bad i didn't know about it. I hope it was like the Studio Tour but only to see the Narnia set. -
Probably. I just liked how they had TV screens around the whole simulator.

VIllage Roadshow Studios Gold Coast 2018
Jamberoo Fan replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Too bad it failed. I would have liked it. It should have reduced the queue times for other rides as well. When was that? -
On Dreamworld's website, they have changed the dates for Thunder River Rapids maintenance to: "The following rides and attractions will be closed for scheduled maintenance: Thunder River Rapids under maintenance from 2 May" No date is mentioned relating to the conclusion of it's maintenance. Any update on what is happening near Thunder River Rapids?

I hope this is the right forum to post this topic in. But yesterday, Anna Bligh released details on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Bid. In the list of the proposed venues mentioned in the media release it says: "Oxenford Studios -Table Tennis & Boxing · Maximises use of existing infrastructure · Cost effective way to deliver these competition venues" If they win the bid, i believe it would provide a rare opportunity for the public to go inside the studios since the closure of the Studio Tour at Warner Brothers Movie World. I think they would still have strict access to the studios if they do host the sports like ticket holders only etc. but it would still be a rare chance to visit the studios.

The POV i was referring to was of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride not the Looney Tunes River Ride but i still prefer them fully refurbishing the Looney Tunes River Ride instead of replacing it. I agree with the second point, they should build something Looney Tunes themed. It was only an idea because how could they build another ride of that size themed to Looney Tunes. I hope they have a fresh idea because i dont have any lol. Anyway i already said this - 'Even though it isnt related to Kids' WB! or Looney Tunes etc'. I hate how theme parks put rides into areas that dont fit the theme like AVPX in Ocean Parade and the Motocoaster in Rivertown. It was only an idea.
-
yeh. i watched a POV of it on YouTube. wasnt what i expected but Movie World could greatly improve it. The elevator portion of the ride was interesting though.
-
Even though it isnt related to Kids' WB! or Looney Tunes etc., they could build a ride based on the movie 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' similar to the one at Alton Towers in the UK.

I believe the gunfight in the Western area of Movie World is advertised in the showtimes that you get when you enter the park. It's called the 'Western Town Show Down'. As described in the showtimes - 'Western Town Show Down: This town ain't big enough for the Sheriff and Black Bart. When these two meet there's bound to be a brawl, a few gun shots, and maybe even a Saloon dance. Come join the fun but don't get too close.' I never got to see that show cause i was in an hour-long queue for the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster. It sounds great though. As for the Sea World shows, the randomness makes it interesting.

You are absolutly right about the funnel web spider. The plans they have displayed on the Jamberoo website are out of date and have since been altered which include altered theming and changes in the proposed new rides. I have been meaning to update Jamberoo Action Park's database entries on the 'Kangeroo Island' devlopment but the website keeps stuffing up.

During the time the Eureka Mountain Mine Ride was closed, the IMAX Theatre got the "closed till futher notice". It reopened 3 days later. So just because it was closed until further notice dosen't mean it is gone forever. It may have been a sudden breakdown.

It is: http://myfun.com.au/ . It contains the websites from all 3 theme parks, AOS & Paradise Country & SW Resort. It also contain new rides & attractions e.g Surfrider & new features like interactive park maps, itineries e.t.c Haven't looked at it much but Check It Out Now!
