Construction underway on Movie World's newest ride
Jamberoo Fan replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
it's like the mega drop at travelling shows except the mega drop doesn't have a upwards launch. The Mega Drop has a drop speed of 204km/h on a 45-metre high tower. It takes 3 seconds to drop. When you're on the ride you feel a very fast speed straight away but when your're the Giant Drop you feel going faster. It's just launched freefall. If anyone one's confused just try and pretend your on the GD and MD. -

WhiteWater World Construction Discussion
Jamberoo Fan replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
From Whitewater World website - The Countdown Is On! Construction company, Watpac has formally handed over the first two completed sections of WhiteWater World to Dreamworld's operational team. This includes The Temple of Huey, Beyond The Beach merchandise store and WhiteWater World's impressive Guest Services building. Lucky test riders will begin to launch down the SuperTubes HydroCoaster in the next couple of weeks while The Murphy's Waves installation crew from Scotland put the final touches on the Cave of Waves. WhiteWater World was also introduced to the media for the very first time last Friday with a site tour and demonstration of the cutting edge filtration system set to save 3 Olympic swimming pools of water every year. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as WhiteWater World gets set to sizzle this Summer. -

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride Maintenance
Jamberoo Fan replied to Drewboy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Hey, andrewm (if your not at Dreamworld right now) i've just updated the ride and attraction maintenance thing on Post 18. Don't worry the Giant Drop is now no longer closed. -
I got the same feeling

About 20 kilometres to where i live, they proposed a mine ride/attraction. In 2002, the council from where i live they proposed a mine tourist attraction similar to Scenic World. It was to include: - Train ride from town centre to bottom of the mine. - A cableway from the bottom to the top of the mine similar to the one at Scenic World - Mine Tours, Theatre & Vistor Centre and exhibition area. In June 2006, the council from where i live brought land from Integral Energy which is near the proposed mine attraction to build a regional "recreation" park which included a huge picnic shelter, motoring museum, indoor air-rifle range & 4km cross-country course. In November 2006, the huge picnic shelter & cross-country course opens In 2007, construction will begin on motoring museum & rifle range. Do you think that the mine attraction should be built? Do you think that the mine attraction should be also part of the regional "recreation" park?

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride Maintenance
Jamberoo Fan replied to Drewboy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Here is the full list of Ride and Attraction Maintenance from the Dreamworld website: Eureka Mountain Mine Ride, Gold Rush Country Date closed: 07th November - until further notice. The Big Brother House, Dreamworld Studios Date Closed: 14th January 2007 - until further notice. Please note: Notification of any unscheduled ride closures will appear on the notice board outside the main entry gate. A link to the Whitewater World website has been made on the Dreamworld website. But it leads to another website known as www.whitewaterworld.com/ -
I finally got a reply from Dreamworld but there is no help - There is a new attraction going in where the Blue Lagoon was but i cannot tell you what it is at this stage. It will be opening sometime in December 2006. Please keep an eye on our website for updates. - I will send them another email later in the year to see if they are going to reveal what the attraction is.

After the Movie World website was closed for system maintenance three days ago, why does now show stuff from 4 months ago? It shows news from months ago, some of the rides haven't been put in the Rides & Attractions section yet, a Superman Escape competition from months ago when there should be a Batwing comp there and more. Any reason for this or is it just my computer?

WhiteWater World Construction Discussion
Jamberoo Fan replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Just because it's related to capacity. WWW queue lines may not be 40 minutes long because if anyone read on their Opening Hours & Park Map web page this: IMPORTANT: WhiteWater World visitor numbers are capped to ensure there is no overcrowding. Entry will be on a first come, first served basis. Once the park capacity is reached we cannot permit any further entries. -
Article: Jamberoo unveils $20 million investment plan
Jamberoo Fan replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Hey guys, i just asked Jamberoo about some questions. 1. Will the "The Rock" pool be heated. My Note - The Rock is 2 jumping platforms with 2 slides. It is the only non-heated ride in the park. So it must be terrifing to jump into freezing water! Jamberoo's Note - Give it time. Heating costs around $350,000 and will be implemented either through this season (September 2006 to April 2007) or before next season (September 2007 to April 2008). 2.Is the new mag-lev water rollercoaster really mag-lev or LIM? My Note - As Whitewater World is just about to reveal one of two LIM water rolercoasters in the world we believe that Jamberoo's is also LIM? Jamberoo's Note - Yes, the technology is mag-lev and when the mag-lev technology has been field tested we will invest in the ride. My Note - So i'm thinking that Proslide is still design the ride and when they test the ride and gives a thumbs up, Jamberoo will invest in it. 3. Is "Tornado Alley" the name of an area of the park or the ride made by Proslide. Jamberoo's note - At this stage we are discussing "The Taipan" (a dark mammoth ride) with Proslide, the future developments (Tornado Alley) will be depending on how we found Proslide’s quality of workmanship. The tornado Alley is a row of activities linked together, we may not end up doing this however we will certainly be putting in the Tornado as a development. My Note - What do they mean by "Activites"? -

Just wondering if any one knew, but Wet 'n' Wild and Jamberoo were swapping ideas between 2001 and 2006. Wet 'n' Wild told them the idea of building Surf Hill, Rapid River, Outback Bay & Mammoth River (even if it's not Australian Waterslides & Lesiures type) Jamberoo told Wet 'n' Wild the idea of Buccaneer Bay: Surrender To The Fun. This was read in a newspaper article. -
