  1. The GIF did work for me @AlexB but as it was the 1st time I've embedded a GIF on Parkz, I wasn't sure if other forum members could see it so I wrote a full description particularly if @Jamberoo Action Park removes the GIF from their website one day. With the 2016/17 season starting on the 24th of September, Jamberoo Action Park has started selling 2016/17 season passes today. Prices are below - quoted from Jamberoo's website. The 2016/17 season finishes on ANZAC Day 2017. Season Pass Prices for the 2016/17 season: From the 2015/16 Jamberoo Action Park season, season passes purchased online prior to 01/09/2015 have increased by $10 while the other general season pass options have increased by $10 except purchasing the season pass at the park (There is a chance Jamberoo just has not updated their website fully yet so maybe except a $10 increase in that price too). A $4.95 transaction fee applies online too. Season pass holders also get a chance to win a $200 Kodak Moments voucher on Australia Day next year. If you buy a season pass prior to 1st September 2016, you also get the chance to win a double zipline pass at The Illawarra Fly. There are no changes to opening hours. There are changes to season dates from last season: Open all weekends, the whole month of February, Fridays during November, Monday the 13th of March 2017 & the Primary School-Only Day this season is Tuesday the 13th of December 2016. The Park is also closed on Monday the 5th of December 2016. Other tickets go on sale in September. Here is Jamberoo's new television commercial and this confirms the ride name without a doubt... Note that the television commercial refers to "the tallest, longest high thrill water ride ever built". It would have to rival Funnel Web to have that claim as Funnel Web had a similar claim when that opened in 2012. So The Perfect Storm is the name of Jamberoo's new ride as you can see on Jamberoo's new Facebook page cover photo: To ride The Perfect Storm, each participant has to be over 120 centimetres in height & all participants must have a combined weight of between 70 and 320 kilograms. But here comes what we all waited for...from Jamberoo's official website: As you can see in the GIF above, it does feature a Tantrum Alley at the start as speculated and it is also a hybrid ride as speculated. The 'finale' to this new high thrill water raft ride is a Tornado. So the last 2 questions have definitely been answered and I'm now confident the first 2 questions are answered too. I believe Koala Creek & Platypus River are not part of Stage 2 as they were not added to Jamberoo's list of rides on their website today so both of those rides have been delayed. Opinion In my opinion, I am really surprised Jamberoo chose to add another Tornado to the park particularly right next to another Tornado with a different theme but with a near-identical colour scheme. I would've preferred the Behemoth Bowl hybrid (they could've themed it as a 'dust bowl'). The Tantrum Alley is a nice new feature though (and I don't mind it as it is different) but after 3 years of waiting for a new ride, the main feature being a Tornado has been an anti-climax. The general public will not notice the similarities between Funnel Web & The Perfect Storm unless they see images of the ride or until they see the rides in the park side by side and then they may be disappointed. This is because the promotions of The Perfect Storm are mainly of the theme so far, which give little indication of what the new ride is (unless you are theme park enthusiasts like us of course, then you can figure out the clues easily) so if Jamberoo promotes the theme rather than the ride type until February next year, people will come in large numbers like they want but only to possibly have disappointed visitors once they are inside the Park. I haven't been to Jamberoo since before Funnel Web opened so I'm going to Jamberoo eventually to ride new rides regardless but had I been already, The Perfect Storm wouldn't have made me extra eager to visit Jamberoo again. This is going to make the future stand-alone Tantrum Alley (part of Emu Mountain Rapids) really odd. I would be really interested to hear what other forum members think about this choice of hybrid. So to conclude, from the theme park with Billabong Beach & Banjo's Billabong, we now give you 2 Tornadoes side by side with nearly the same colour scheme.
  2. There is an abandoned amusement park in Sydney called 'The Magic Kingdom'. I've never visited the site so I don't know how much of it is remaining now but here are some videos of it from the past 3 years: 2013 2014 2015 Google Earth satellite images from 2013 onwards show that they started to clean up the park (probably in response to the 1st video) but judging from the most recent satellite image, it is still in an abandoned state just without major structures or signs that it is an abandoned amusement park. The oldest Google Earth satellite image (2004) shows the park in a neat state even though it was closed for at least 10 years at that point. It started to run down a few months later that year in the satellite images.
  3. @Jamberoo Action Park has revealed it's 1st teaser of the new high thrill water raft ride which mainly gives clues to the theming: If the gif is not visible, it says 'COMING SOON...THE PERFECT STORM...JAMBEROO...where you control the action!' - the latter 2 phases being the Jamberoo Action Park logo, which is permanently located at the centre of the bottom of the image. The first 2 phases alternate in appearance in large bolded font (with some letters featuring clawed edges) in the upper 75% of the image. Inside the first 2 phases is a cartoon image of a black/grey tornado hitting one of the back corners of a rusted corrugated galvanised iron-roofed wooden building (with a concrete chimney) while picking up parts of the building's roof, a bus, farm animals including a sheep, a cow, a cattle dog and a horse, a Model T Ford ute, a tractor, an utility pole, an outhouse, other debris & a cyclist (with bicycle). So it looks like a 'tornado hitting a farm/country town' theme. Whilst a Tornado ride already exists at Jamberoo, it indicates that the Tantrum Alley portions of 'Cockatoo Gorge' are still and now the most likely high thrill water raft ride to be Jamberoo's new ride as a Tantrum Alley is a series of miniature Tornadoes so a 'tornado alley' theme could apply. In my opinion, I feel confident that this teaser answers the 3rd question but I would add another question in it's place: 'Is a Tantrum Alley the only feature of this top secret new high thrill water raft ride?'. Remember, a Behemoth Bowl was originally planned as the 'finale' to 'Cockatoo Gorge' (which originally was a Tantrum Alley/Behemoth Bowl hybrid) until Jamberoo Action Park confirmed exclusively on Parkz that they are no longer incorporating the Behemoth Bowl so is there a new type of 'finale'? It also makes it highly unlikely that 'Cockatoo Gorge' will still be the name of the Tantrum Alley. So far, 'The Perfect Storm' is the closest thing to a ride name but currently it is most likely just a marketing slogan. More confirmation would be required to determine if it is the ride name so that adds a new question: 'Is 'The Perfect Storm' the name of the Tantrum Alley?'. So the 4 main questions for now are: Is either 'Koala Creek' or 'Platypus River' still part of Stage 2? If one of the above is still part of Stage 2, which one has been delayed - 'Koala Creek' or 'Platypus River'? Is a Tantrum Alley the only feature of this top secret new high thrill water raft ride? Is 'The Perfect Storm' the name of the Tantrum Alley?
  4. Oh, yeah! I should have realised I didn't bother researching the name's origin as I took an assumption, which I thought was odd, that Dreamworld sold naming rights to the island to Ibis Hotels Well, at least, I'll remember the name's origin now!
  5. Hi @The Original Belinda Brown! It's great to see another theme park representative on Parkz. I got a few questions that hopefully have answers that aren't commercial-in-confidence: 1. How much notice does Dreamworld take of what other non-Gold Coast Australian theme parks are doing (including Wet 'n' Wild Sydney)? Given smaller parks like Jamberoo Action Park, Adventure World, Luna Park Sydney & Aussie World have made significant investments in new rides in the past few years, I'm curious as to how much a Gold Coast theme park takes note of this as it shows the theme park industry of Australia may be beginning to slowly lose it's Gold Coast focus (particularly with the return of a major Sydney theme park). 2. What is the 'day in the life' of the average Dreamworld visitor? Like what rides/attractions/shops do they head to first? What is the most popular place to eat lunch? What is the last ride/attractions/shops do they head to (excluding the Marketplace)? Is there a particular route around the park visitors just happen to take? I remember old Dreamworld park maps had 'suggested itineraries' but it has always got my curiosity as to where visitors actually head to - do they follow the suggested itineraries? I thought this question might be interesting too for theme park enthusiasts as the opposite of the answer is clearly the best time to visit a ride/attraction/shop as there would be less queues. 3. Is there any tricks as to get the best experience on any of the Dreamworld rides? Like, for example, which is the best seat to sit on the Rocky Hollow Log Ride, the Hot Wheels SideWinder or even the Mick Doohan Motocoaster? Happy for answers on other rides - those are just examples. It would be interesting if a particular seat on the Mick Doohan Motocoaster provided a better experience of the ride to the rest (as you know, it isn't the most thrilling ride according to Parkz forum members) but for that ride, I think it is unlikely that any seat is superior to the rest. 4. How far back in time does Dreamworld keep it's park maps for archival reasons? It would be interesting to see a park map from the opening day in 1981 as well as to see the precise history of Dreamworld. 5. Who designed the Dreamworld park maps in the early 2000's? They were an iconic design which nearly all Gold Coast theme parks used...even Jamberoo Action Park used it at one point. 5. If it is meant to be an "Australian Celebration", why were 'worlds' themed, for example, Nickelodeon, Dreamworks & Hot Wheels (all American) & Big Brother (Dutch) over the years? I understand it was done for commercial reasons (though I dislike the increasingly licensed theming of non-media theme parks) and that Big Brother had an Australian edition of the show but in terms of keeping it to an Australian theme, why? 7. Lastly, would Dreamworld ever contribute to the Parkz ride database/photo collection? It would be interesting to see a detailed history/technical ride entries for Dreamworld and also photos of old rides that no longer operate at Dreamworld that no one on here has photos of. When Whitewater World was first announced, I feared one day the above would happen as I thought visitors would consider it part of Dreamworld due to it's proximity. When I first visited Whitewater World a year or so after opening, to see the park promoted on the back of a Dreamworld brochure combined with seeing comparably lower visitation than Dreamworld made me think what I thought came true but I didn't realise Dreamworld also now 'considers' Whitewater World part of Dreamworld too. In my opinion, I'd prefer if Whitewater World was officially added into Dreamworld but it disappoints me that Blue Lagoon no longer operates as a result - Krakatoa's Revenge, to me, was a unique ride as I figured out that depending on which side of the slide you entered, you can cause your inflatable ring to turn around 180 degrees halfway through the ride resulting in a backward-facing trip. That brought some good thrills. I also thought of a few more questions but they can be saved for another time. And a question to any Parkz forum member - can someone tell me why the island in the middle of Dreamworld is called Ibis Island? I have only seen the island being called 'Ibis Island' on the Parkz forums and only recently so the origin of the name I'd like to know.
  6. Ok. Well then, yes, I agree with you regarding duration. @Jamberoo Action Park has, in fact, stated how the new high thrill water raft ride would 'rival' Funnel Web as you can see in the quote below: So that confirmed it will "rival" in speed & length while this earlier statement confirmed a "more" overall rider exhilaration experience & a "slighter longer" ride duration:
  7. Funnel Web does have a rather long tube section for a Tornado. Kraken at Perth's Adventure World is probably the only Tornado in Australia that I know of that has a tube section of approximately the same length. I'm unsure but are you saying a Tantrum Alley is longer in length or duration? As I would agree that it would be comparatively longer in duration than a Tornado. Like I said above, Funnel Web has a rather long tube section compared to most of Australia's Tornadoes so if you are comparing a Tantrum Alley to Wet 'N' Wild Gold Coast's Tornado, then yes I would say a Tantrum Alley could be up to 2 or 3 times as long in length but Funnel Web has a long pre-funnel tube section (around 150 metres long) and a slightly longer than usual post-funnel tube section (1 360 degree downward helix) making the ride length fit the length of a Tantrum Alley consisting of maximum 3 smaller Tornadoes.
  8. I forgot to mention that an additional reason why the new high thrill water raft ride could be built next to Funnel Web is because the formerly planned Behemoth Bowl, which is being replaced by the new high thrill water raft ride, was to be located next to Funnel Web. @Tim Dasco pointed this out later on though. When I was talking about the length of the new high thrill water raft ride, I was referring to any type of high thrill water raft ride but like I posted earlier, I guessed that the new high thrill water raft ride would be approximately 569 metres in maximum length which is roughly 2 times as long as Funnel Web. But in my opinion, the new high thrill water raft ride would most likely be towards it's minimum length of approximately 246 metres as it is closer to 'rivalling' Funnel Web's length of 270 metres. Also, in my opinion, I can't see why a Tantrum Alley can't be approximately the same length as Funnel Web.
  9. You are possibly half correct. As pointed out in my previous posts, @Jamberoo Action Park exclusively revealed on Parkz last year that the 'Cockatoo Gorge' Behemoth Bowl is no longer part of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansions in order to make way for the new high thrill water raft ride. However, in their post, they did not confirm whether the Tantrum Alley portions of 'Cockatoo Gorge' are still part of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansions. They did note that they removed the Behemoth Bowl "because new ride technologies are available". So it currently is either a Tantrum Alley or something completely new/different or a mix of both but in the end right now, it is anyone's guess. In terms of the ride's length, Jamberoo did say the new high thrill water raft ride will 'rival' the length of 'Funnel Web' so it might not be heaps longer than 'Funnel Web' but will probably be the same length approximately.
  10. Even though it makes no difference as Jamberoo's message is now public information, does that passage above mean it was meant to be confidential, @Jobe? Well at least that confirms that the 'top secret' ride is a high thrill water ride. Since a splash pool is being built so soon after the season ended & that a raft return channel branch already exists, this probably means that the new high thrill water ride is being built next to Funnel Web & uses rafts. Shipping containers can range from 6 to 14 metres in length so given there are 42 in the car park, we are looking at a ride approximately 246 metres in minimum length & approximately 569 metres in maximum length. Funnel Web is 270 metres long & given the length of the new high thrill water raft ride is suppose to 'rival' Funnel Web, it is most likely the new high thrill water raft ride is approximately 246 metres long. As we know that compared to Funnel Web the new high thrill water raft ride is slightly longer in ride time but will 'rival' in speed & length, the ride will probably be slower in speed if it is 24 metres shorter than Funnel Web like I guessed in the above paragraph. 24 metres difference in ride length & a very small difference in speed is enough to be defined as 'rivalling'. Out of the 4 questions above, the new information answers 1 - the 'top secret' ride is now a part of Stage 2. It confirms that Stage 2 consists of at least the new high thrill water raft ride & maybe either Koala Creek or Platypus River as it only confirms that Stage 2 is commencing with rather than being just a high thrill water raft ride. So this leaves open the other 3 questions though with minor adjustments... So the 3 main questions for now are: Is either Koala Creek or Platypus River still part of Stage 2? If one of the above is still part of Stage 2, which one has been delayed - Koala Creek or Platypus River? What is the top secret high thrill water raft ride?
  11. According to someone's comment on one of Jamberoo Action Park's Facebook posts, the parts for one of the new rides are sitting in the theme park's car park.
  12. As Jamberoo Action Park's 2015/2016 season finishes on 25th April 2016, here is an update: In my post from 18th September 2015, I forgot to mention in the 'Other News' section that 'The Rock' themed area's major refurbishment included 'hundreds of metres' of new waterfalls around the mushroom pools. 'Dive-In Movies @ Jamberoo' returned last January. The 2016 season included 4 new movies: o 2nd January 2016 – ‘Penguins Of Madagascar’ o 9th January 2016 – ‘Despicable Me 2’ o 16th January 2016 – ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted’ o 23rd January 2016 – ‘Big Hero 6’ A new 'Summer Fun Pass' was introduced on the 28th December 2015 which, for $89.99*, allowed unlimited entry until 28th February 2016. Lastly, on 9th April 2016, Jamberoo Action Park confirmed in a comment on a post on their Facebook page that ‘works already commenced’ on Stage 2 of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansion. So let the guessing begin! Some points to remember based on prior information: It will include 2 new world-class rides and attractions. Originally, the next 2 rides to be built as part of Stage 2 of the 'Kangaroo Island' master plan were the 'Koala Creek' interactive water play area and the 'Platypus River' lazy river. On 17th June 2015, Jamberoo Action Park exclusively revealed on Parkz that the 'Cockatoo Gorge' Behemoth Bowl is no longer part of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansions but instead they will be building a whole new 'top secret' ride to rival their record-breaking 'Funnel Web' Tornado water ride, that will be more exhilarating in ride experience as well as slightly longer in ride time. The 'Funnel Web' ride time is 40 seconds (based on information in the Parkz ride database) while a Behemoth Bowl's ride time is 26 seconds (based on information on Whitewater World's 'The Rip' in the Parkz ride database). In the most recently seen ride artist impression, 'Cockatoo Gorge' was to be a combined enclosed Tantrum Alley/ Behemoth Bowl water ride. As far as we know, the enclosed Tantrum Alley elements have not been excluded. Kiama Municipal Council approved the new 'top secret' ride development on 12th March 2015. So the 4 main questions for now are: Is 'Koala Creek' and 'Platypus River' still Stage 2? Is the 'top secret' ride now a part of Stage 2? If it is, which one has been delayed - 'Koala Creek' or 'Platypus River'? What is the 'top secret' ride?
  13. Well Jamberoo Action Park opens for its 2015-2016 season tomorrow until ANZAC Day next year so it's a good time to check out their new TV commercial... But even more importantly... That's right - the world's largest spider structure is at Jamberoo Action Park as part of their 'Funnel Web' ride theming. More official details: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/118969-largest-spider-sculpture Here is an article published on the Illawarra Mercury website earlier today: Other news: 'Dive-In Movies @ Jamberoo' will return this season from late December 2015 to late January 2016.'The Rock' themed area went under a major refurbishment during the 2015 season break. Before which, the NSW SES State Disaster Rescue Challenge was held utilising the empty 5 metre deep pool of that area (see photos below). Article about the NSW SES State Disaster Rescue Challenge at Jamberoo (complete with 32 more photos) here: http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/3115614/ses-teams-to-the-rescue-in-mock-disaster/ The 'Bobsleds' also went under a major refurbishment during the break which will allow riders to go even faster. No new rides that are part of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansion were built during the 2015 season break (a poll conducted on these forums in July last year said 73% of Parkz users thought the expansion would continue during that break).Based on Google Maps satellite imagery, the old Racing Cars are currently sitting in the staff car park of Jamberoo (see satellite image below).Changes to season dates from last season: Only open weekends during February, Monday 14th & 28th March 2016 & the Primary School Only Day this season is Tuesday 8th December 2015.No changes to opening hours.Season pass holders also get free child (4-15 years) entry to Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures until 20 December 2015 and a chance to win a GoPro camera on Australia Day next year.Prices for the 2015/16 season: From the 2014/15 Jamberoo Action Park season, the Seniors 60+ & Children 4-12 prices have had a $4 increase while the Adult 13+ price has been increased by $5. Season passes purchased online prior to 01/09/2015 have decreased by $5 while the other general season pass options have increased by $5. The Children Under 3 price has not changed. A $4.95 transaction fee applies online too. Photos below by Christopher Chan of the Illawarra Mercury and satellite image below sourced from Google Maps.
  14. Welcome Jamberoo Action Park! So this new 'top secret' ride replacement for the Behemoth Bowl (which was to be known as 'Cockatoo Gorge'), I believe, was approved by Kiama Municipal Council on 12 March 2015 after a short 6 week approval process. The development application does not give away anything especially since the exhibition period is well and truly over. All we know is that (based on information on Whitewater World's 'The Rip' in the Parkz ride database) is that the ride time is longer than 26 seconds. I support the idea of 'official representative' tags.
  15. Noted. Well 'Dive-In Movies @ Jamberoo' commenced on Saturday 27th December last year at 6pm. The movie listing is below: Saturday 27th December 2014 - 'Frozen'Saturday 3rd January 2015 - 'Ice Age 4 - Continental Drift'Saturday 10th January 2015 - 'Happy Feet 2'Saturday 17th January 2015 - 'The LEGO Movie'Saturday 24th January 2015 - 'Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters''Dive-In Movies @ Jamberoo' are held every Saturday night at 6pm between late December & late January and usually finishes around 7:30pm. It is free for season pass holders and part of the admission entry. As a result of this new attraction, I believe the floatation rings of 'Outback Bay' have returned after years of absence. I also have an expectation that no new rides of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansion have been built over the 2015 season break. Anyway, this post will conclude this topic and will now shift to the 'Jamberoo Action Park Expansion' topic which started on 14 June 2015.
  16. Jamberoo Action Park opens tomorrow for their 2014/15 season so here are the latest developments about the 2014/15 Jamberoo Action Park season: Another correction: That price increase only applied if you purchased a Jamberoo Action Park season pass on their website before Sunday the 31st of August 2014. Jamberoo Action Park season passes purchased on their website after Sunday the 31st of August 2014 cost $109.99 - a $20 increase in price from the 2013/14 Jamberoo Action Park season. Jamberoo Action are also now opening on Monday the 20th of October 2014 as well as on Fridays in November 2014 and February 2015. Jamberoo Action Park have also confirmed their general admission prices for the 2014/15 season on their website: All the prices listed above in the quote box (except the Children 3 and Under price) have had a $7.99 increase in price from the 2013/14 Jamberoo Action Park season. Also, here is an interesting an article published on the Illawarra Mercury website on Wednesday 10th of September 2014: The photograph at the bottom of this post is from the above article and is of Jamberoo Action Park marketing director James Cook in front of Outback Bay. You can clearly see the new Big Screen and you can also see new artwork on the Outback Bay wave pool wall which depicts crashing waves. Below is also an excerpt from a Wollongong Advertiser newspaper article also issued on Wednesday the 10th of September 2014 called 'It's time to control the action at Jamberoo', which was located in their 'School Holiday Activities' special advertising feature. This excerpt gives more detail on the new Outback Bay entertainment precinct: Lastly, I have noticed in comments on Jamberoo Action Park's Facebook page that Wet 'n' Wild Sydney have also reduced their opening days too for the 2014/15 season. Can someone confirm if this is true?
  17. While starting to recruit new staff for the 2014-2015 season today, Jamberoo Action Park have revealed 1 of the 'enhancements' that will be included in the 2014-2015 season. The Big Screen will operate from 10am to 5pm on a 'regular basis' as well as daily in peak season. It will have social media/online capabilities and may be used for promotional activities. The successful applicant will though professionally create the displayed content and will have the flexibility to be as creative as they like when creating the displayed content but will have to follow Broadcast Guidelines as well as ensuring the displayed content adds to Jamberoo Action Park's motto of providing a "quality entertainment experience".
  18. Correction: Season passes purchased on Jamberoo Action Park's website have increased in price by $10 from $89.99 to $99.99 while season passes purchased at Jamberoo Action Park have increased in price by $20 from $99.99 to $119.99. Haha no, I didn't paste part of what I wrote. I just typed it twice without realising that it makes for bad reading. Anyway, back on topic...
  19. Jamberoo Action Park's 2014-2015 operations started this week with the commencement of the selling of their 2014-2015 season passes. The 2014-2015 season - their first full season with their new competitor, Wet 'n' Wild Sydney - starts on Saturday the 20th of September 2014 and ends on Sunday the 19th of April 2015. The news relating to Jamberoo Action Park's 2014-2015 season is this: - No further ride development occurred in the 2014 off season. - However, there are a couple of 'enhancements' that will be included in the 2014-2015 season. Details of which will be put on Jamberoo Action Park's website at an unannounced date. - Jamberoo Action Park is now only open on school and public holidays (except Christmas Day) & weekends as well as the whole months of December (except Tuesday the 9th of December 2014 - Primary School Day Only) and January & Monday the 9th of March 2015. - Opening hours are still 10am to 5pm. - Season Passes have increased in price from $89.99 to $99.99. The fact that the season pass has increased by $10 even though Jamberoo Action Park isn't open on weekdays (except where stated above) and the 'season' has been shortened by approximately 100 days from last year has drawn some criticism on Jamberoo Action Park's Facebook page. Jamberoo Action Park has been opened daily between September and April since the 2007-2008 season when The Taipan opened. General admission prices are still to be confirmed. Dax Eddy of Jamberoo Action Park said that Jamberoo Action Park did have a 15.2% drop in attendance during the 2013-2014 season from the 2012-2013 season which is lower than the 25% average drop in attendance a theme park has when a new competitor enters. Dax Eddy of Jamberoo Action Park also noted back in July 2012 that the proposed 'Thunder Downunder' Water Coaster, 'Cockatoo Gorge' Behemoth Bowl and the 'Emu Mountain Rapids' Mammoth/Tantrum Alley won't be built until attendance figures are at a level suitable for the construction of those rides. Whether this also applies to the proposed 'Platypus River' Lazy River and 'Koala Creek' Interactive Water Play Area is unsure. Despite Jamberoo Action Park's attendance figures dropping less than the industry average when a new competitor enters, did Wet 'n' Wild Sydney's opening affect Jamberoo Action Park more than we expected?
  20. Ok. I was just asking in case Jamberoo Action Park had unexpectedly changed their plans and they told you this. Whilst the photograph you posted of the full 'Kangaroo Island' precinct plans attached to some construction fencing shows the farthest slide adjoining the chairlift and bobsled area, the 'Splash Out' waterslides and 'The Rock' precinct are actually located well further over in a south-easterly direction (towards the middle of the photograph's right-hand side). You can clearly see this in their concept master plan (below) for the full 'Kangaroo Island' precinct which I posted to the forums over 2 years ago so given it was just your assumption, I think the 'Splash Out' waterslides and 'The Rock' precinct are going to continue operating.
  21. Did Jamberoo Action Park tell you this or is this your own assumption as this was never featured in any of the 'Kangaroo Island' expansion plans?
  22. When? 'Funnel Web' and 'Banjo's Billabong' are open today at Jamberoo Action Park. Seven Network TV program,'Sunrise', visited the 'Funnel Web' this morning:
  23. Apparently. Yeah it was closed on Monday. The 'Maintenance Stand By Notice' for the 2 new rides was posted in this topic on Monday. As pointed out by AllegroCrab in the post above, Jamberoo Action Park have posted this on their website for both new rides (as of Tuesday 18th of December 2012 at 2:00pm): So 'Banjo's Billabong' is now finally officially opened to everyone!
  24. Jamberoo Action Park have posted this on their website for both new rides (as of Tuesday 18th of December 2012 at 10:12am):
