I know it would cost more money and would need more man power, but cumon, if Movieworld thinks that waiting 30mins for 1 ride doesn't "mind" people, then there is something wrong with them! Cause I do mind! Last September, they were running 1 train both days we were at Movieworld, and I think the longest we waited was 40mins (this was because of harness problems and a over-wieght man that couldn't fit into the seat), unlucky I guess!! However, the shortest we waited was around 15-20mins, but this was when the shows were on. I still think that Movieworld are out of their minds if they think that people "don't mind" waiting 30 mins in off-peak season for 1 ride! PLEASE MOVIEWORLD - RUN 2 TRAINS ON SUPERMAN!! well, that's my 2 cents! CoAsTeRbOy8

Thanks, everybody for the tips. However, the problem is that I can't get my hands on Soaked, and only on Wild. UNLESS, I get the platinum RCT3 at Dick Smith, which is $70 for RCT3 and the 2 expansion packs . Personnally I don't think it's worth it, mabey I'll try on ebay!! So from what I have gathered, from people that have posted in this thread, is that Soaked has got much better themeing and ride effects, and Wild! has got some really good rides. And then there is NoLimits that craps all over RCT3 but does not have much themeing. So in my case I want some good themeing, that i don't have to design and some really good rollercoasters!!! So I would be looking at getting either Soaked , Wild OR NoLimits - I THINK I MIGHT JUST GET THEM ALL!!!!!! Grrrrrrr. Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8
-
Another thing I was thinking about is to get NoLimits. Has anybody got NoLimits here? It seems to be the realest rollercoaster simulator out there! QUESTION: 1. Can you theme your rides you make on NoLimits, like on RCT3? 2. Is it harder to use than RCT3? If so, does it come with it's own help? 3. Do they include: Intamin launch coasters, Motor-coaster, Euro-fighter? If anybody can help me out with these questions, including my first post, that would be GREAT!!! Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8

I'm pretty sure that people have talked about this topic before, but I want to know which one to get?I can't find Soaked anywhere, but JB-HiFi has Wild. (Wild is only $30 so I will be bying it soon.) Some questions I want to ask: 1. What are the main differences between the 2. (apart from one being waterpark and the other being a ZOO) 2. What are the new rollercoasters and rides that come in each expansion? 3. Which one has the most scenery/themeing? 4. Do any off them have a intamin Launch coaster, motor-coaster or a Euro-Fighter - like Mystery Mine? 5. Can you make billboards on Wild? I think I've got more questions, but If anybody could answer these questions this would be good, thanks: CoAsTeRbOy8

I uploaded it onto Youtube, but it is alright caulity. Here is Part 1 of: SCOPE: Waterpark Science. VIDEO Please comment or rate, thanks: Coasterboy8

Thanks, for the help. It should be ready by today, mabey after lunch and I'm either going to be using Gigasize OR Divshare. EDIT: I'm keep on trying to upload the video onto Divshare, but the upload keeps on stopping/corrupting. I think I'll just use Youtube. CoAsTeRbOy8

About 2 days ago I was watching t.v, when I switched to channel 10 and noticed that "Scope" was doing a show all about waterpark science, and you guessed it at WHITE WATER WORLD!! . For those people who don't know what "Scope" is, it's a childrens science show, and has some really really chessey jokes in it. However, some of the terminology that they used to describe how the waterslides worked, I couldn't even understand! Now here is my problem: the show goes for 21mins and is 106mb . It was 2.5gb before, becuase I got it straight off the t.v, but I decresed the size and quality (but it is better than you tube quality). I have also zipped it! I can't upload the video onto this website, because the upload limit for one item is 10mb. I could upload it onto you-tube, but would that decrease the quality of the video even more? And can I just upload it in one go, or will I have to split it into 2 videos (e.g: Part1, Part2)? Either way I'll try to get it onto the net!!!, and if you have any other Ideas about to get it up onto the net OR how to decrease the size, (I would think that you guys don't want to be spending 100mb, just onto one video), this would be helpfull! Thanks, CoAsTeRbOy8

I Agree!! I really hope that WnW gets some thing very new. Something that will revolutionise the waterpark industry (I can dream i guess). They'll probably get a second hand slide from another defunct park! Anyway, If I was to choose I would get another tower up in H20 Zone. Put a bowl in the middle and 2 tubed speed slides, wrapping around the bowl. The new tower could be called, Storm, and the bowl called, The Hurricane, and the 2 speed slides, Thunder Run and Lightning Strike. What do ya guys think? CoAsTeRbOy8

Mick Doohan Motocoaster construction discussion
WalleyWorld replied to AugustVonPolen's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Really!!??, this is strange. They must be making way for a lot of room. I hope, if they use so much land for the coaster, that they include some decent theming and some really cool special effects! Another thing that should be on every launch rollercoaster, and lacking on Superman, is a count down to the launch. I always thought that Superman should of had one of those set of lights that you see on surburban train tracks. It would go red, orange than green, and then you would launch.... Ahhhh, welll, I can dream!! CoasterBoy8 -
Well this is the first time that I have heard anything about it. I didn't think that Warner Bros. are connected with the Simpsons? Aren't they with 20th Century Fox? Although when I was at Crown Casino a couple weeks ago, they've got a big Warner Bros. Shop, and they were selling Simpsons merchandise. Anyway, this seems like a very, very big rumor. CoAsTeRbOy8

Wow!! They have started already, and it's only going to be finished at the END of 2009. Anyway, i'm preety sure that 100 million is for all the groud work, supports, development of the area (in the picture you can see grass and path ways) and the wheel. Anyway, I hope this wheel brings more tourism into Melbourne, which will tell them that bringing in a themapark is not such a bad idea for tourism (i hope that made sense)! CoAsTeRbOy8

Sea World Orlando's Aquatica - March 2008
WalleyWorld replied to myk's topic in Theme Park Discussion
WHOA! That looks amazing. Love the waterslide that goes into the water with the killer whales in it. And it also looks like they are going for a Eight-Lane Octopus Racer. The 2 Wave pools that connect to each other look really good, and the themeing I think is absoulutely OUTSTANDING. I mean a lazy river with live fish and sealife swimming around you!! As said in that 20-minute video: Seaworld has created a very original and creative concept, I'm sure they will get profit out of this project. Not only have they made a waterpark for thrill seekers, familys and couples, but they also give the Disney Waterparks a run for there money! I'm sure Orlando doesn't get that cold during winter. Orlando is alot like the Gold Coast. If you have been up in the Winter, there are still alot of nice sunny days and beats Melbournes winter weather by far! Anyway, thanks for pointing this out myk. Loved how they presented the press conference with all the tribe and ancient land story . CoasterBoy8 -
This made news headlines for thw radio station 3AW, down In melbourne. I'm not sure if it's called the same thing in other states, but yer it was said! LoL!!! I can see yer point. But on a serious note, what type of chemical could have kiled these poor things? CoAsTeRbOy8

No need for pic, since people already know what I'm taking about! Well, I guess that's true!! Seriously I don't know how much tourism they are going to make out of this wheel? It just seems funny that they are going to install a wheel that is shorter than the London Eye. What claim to fame does the Melbourne's one have? (EDIT: silly me! Of course it's going to be the biggest in the southern hemisphere.) I've seen some pictures of where the wheel is going to be located. It looks like they are going to place it in-between shops and modern buildings. I think they might be extending the Docklands for the wheel. To me I'd rather they got the movie studio park than the wheel, and I think most of the other people here would have as well. What are your guys thoughts about this? Coasterboy8
-
Hey, wait a second!! That same wheel was working near the smorgies (all-you-can-eat) in Geelong. I didn't go on it, but It looked like people were riding it. It also looked very perminent! I'll post up a pic of it when I get back from school! CoAsTeRbOy8

I agree with everybody here, it just looks soooo out of place. The Shak at Seaworld looked way better than the one at WWW. Ok, just picture this: Your looking around and you are taking in all of the atmosphere around you. You can hear soft laughs and screams from the waterslides when your eye-sight is caught by something really out of place (the Shack). This is an eye-sore and should be removed!! THE END CoasterBoy8

Whoa, these are the best pictures I've seen of WWW yet! Got to love pics 4 and 7. Looks like you had agreat time, but comon, do you have to write up such a long trip report!! Not saying it's not good or anything, it's just that it took me 10 mins to read it. CoasterBoy6

Does anyone have 50%off vouchers....
WalleyWorld replied to Undeclared's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yer, I think it is undeclared. I went on the Oasis webpage and searched restuarants, It came up with this:Oasis Chinese Buffet It's the only chinese restaurant in the shopping center, so it must be the alll-you-can-eat. Just a little tip, there is the oasis shoppinng mall and then there is another small shopping center right next to it (they are parrallel to each other). Between the two shops there is a carousel, and a Mac's, an Ialian Resturant that is expensive. However, I think it might be between the hours of 5.00 or 6.00 when everything is half price. If you need any other help with prices and Gold Coast things undeclared, just post on this topic or send me a personal message. CoasterBoy8 -
Oh , My Mistake! So I guess that there is a good chance that W'n'W will be getting the surfrider. CoAsTeRbOy8

In that video, they show the car being taken up by a cable then, the cars are swiveled around so that the riders are facing forwads and they you are let go - This is Vekoma's version of the Half-Pipe. The one that WVTP's has got is from Intamin. Intamin's is LSM powered and gradually speeds up and down the track until it reaches the top. Unlike Vekoma's, were you get pulled to the top of the track by a cable and then let go. Plus the cars don't spin while your sliding up and down the half-pipe (on the Vekoma that is). I think that we have the better of the two different models. Mainly because Intamin's does alot more than Vekoma's; Thrill wise. Anyway, did anybody read the "latest themepark news" about WVTP's Profits? It states that Seaworld's overall profits are down. Meaning that there is a very good chance, that when the Eye is taken out, that the Half-pipe will be taking it's right-full place in Seaworld. YAY!! CoAsTeRbOy8 CoasterBoy6

It is a great idea, except the tweety bird ride is pretty popular ride in Looney Tunes Village. Mabey they could take out the Splash Zone (with all the water fountains) and place it there. That should be enough space for the 2 car design. I wonder what they would use for a "thrill" flat ride. They can't go for a gyro swing or a Space shot. I know!!!, what about a Screamin' Swing by S&S. It could be placed in the Wild West area and "The Whip" OR "Gunslinger". What do you think about this Idea guys? Anyway, Spotty, could post up the website/s were you found the other models and were I can find videos for it. It seems more a family ride than a little kiddy ride. CoasterBoy8

Does anyone have 50%off vouchers....
WalleyWorld replied to Undeclared's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Hey "undeclared", I got the prices for the Chinese all-you-can-eat. These are just rough prices (I'm not really sure what the prices are cause they probably change every year): For kids it's under $10.00 - about $9.50, $9.00 For adults it's over $10.00 - about $11.00 If you are not keen on eating the "REAL" chinese food, they also have things like: deep fried chicken, hot chips, prawn crackers, dim sims, sring rolls and soup (I think it's Chicken and sweet corn soup). Anyway, I hope this has helped in he planning for your trip and I hope you have a great fun filled time doing the themeparks and all the other really cool attractions on the Gold Coast. Oh, and make sure when you come back, to write up a trip report about your holiday. CoAsTeRbOy8 -

Ay, guys did anybody notice another topic about DW's Motorbike Coaster? It was one of those "pay the subscription" ones, so I couldn't veiw it. If somebody knows what I'm talking about, than could you post up what they, meaning other subscribed forum members, have been talking about in that topic. Only if you are a suscriber of course. I agree. Things only start to get interesting when the parts make it out of the cotainers and onto the ground, and that's when we need pics!! And as Richard said, there is still heaps of ground-work and preparation before all the footers and supports are up, let alone the track. CoasterBoY8 -

WalleyWorld replied to Undeclared's topic in Theme Park Discussion
First of all, WOW!! YOU HAVE NOT GOT TO BE SERIOUS!!!! $1344 JUST TO GO TO THE THEMEPARKS! Whoever said that "you were being cheap" when you wanted discounts, may not be in the same finacial position as forum member "Undeclared". When my family and I go up to the Gold Coast each year, we try to get discounts. Believe me, eating out in the Surfers Paradise region is not a very cheap thing to do. I sugest, if you are staying in the Broadbeach area, that you haed down to the Oasis shopping centre. In side there is a chinese all-you-can-eat, which has really nice food for a very good price.(I have forgoten how much it was, but I'll post up the prices when I find out) Anyway, When are you going up to the GC? I'm going up in September (look at signiture) and are going to Dreamworld,Movieworld and WhiteWater World. CoAstERBoY8 P.S: IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY - TURNED 14
