In agreement and to further what @AlexB has said, I'm pretty certain that they won't be touching the refurb aspect of the ride until later in the year. It seems have bigger things to focus on in the meanwhile, primarily two major activities happening at the front of the park.

Lol well I'm flattered @YLFATEEKS, as I took them from a moving vehicle and thought they were crap ? I've got the day off work, so thinking about doing a park run today to do catch-ups. Will see if I can get some better quality shots of what's happening ☺️?

Online pics demonstrate that the shelter can be used to work on whatever is in the containers. So definitely possible they may be housing something related to the coaster itself ?

Hmm ok. I thought that the landscaping and addition of new trees and bark etc. happening on the left hand side might have been an indication that it might be being prepared to open to the public. I can't see them going to that much trouble for an off-limits staff/maintenance area of the park. That was what made me think otherwise lol. Then again, I suppose the trees could be for the new Cub area and stationed there temporarily. I guess time will tell?

Ahh, good ol' Pig. Will never forget the day I was working there doing volunteer animal care, and he stuck his head out of his rehabilitation pool out the back and sneezed on me. Not many people can say they have been sneezed on by a dugong, but I can ???

Nah, not Orcas. False Killer Whales are different, about the size of a dolphin and grey in colour: Our Sea World did actually have one, I can confirm that first hand as I have old photos I took myself somewhere of him (Squirt) performing alongside the dolphins there in their 'Friends of the Sea' show which used to be held in the Sea Lion auditorium. I'll have to see if I can find them and post! They also used him as their park mascot for a while, as part of their advertising campaign and he appeared on a lot of their merchandise back in the late 80's, early 90's. That said, as I mentioned earlier, he was the only one I ever knew of or saw there. No idea about any of the others.

The thing I don't get is that this database website claims that our Sea World has previously had 8 Psuedorca (false killer whales, for those playing along at home) in their possession throughout the 80's-90's, all of which apparently died whilst in their care... However whilst my numerous visits to the park growing up, I only remember one ever being there, and that was Squirt the whale? So what's the story with all these other false killer whales that they allegedly had, including a couple of them which, according to the info above, were there the same time as he was? Does anyone else recall ever seeing more than one at the park? Or were they maybe kept out of the public's view the entire time (which I find hard to believe, given their obvious size)? None of it makes sense to me ?

Like I said, I'm not doubting anyone that it has apparently 'reopened'. But I agree with @Slick and think it's odd that Dreamworld have not officially addressed it in any way, especially given its their last BiG9 to open and they haven't hesitated to share such news previously. So I'd rather wait for official word before posting anything ? Not at all. It may very well just have something to do with testing the new procedure of having 20 people per ride for a few days before concluding that's what they want to keep doing. Testing with human passengers doesn't necessarily put anyone at risk to the ride itself, as I said it may just be at the stage where they want to test new routines with boarding and loading etc. ???

Still listed as closed on their website. Not doubting anyone here by all means, but I think I might hold off on its reopening announcement on my blog until official word is made. It could very well still be going through testing, just progressed to the stage of human passengers.

I think it's just called "The Park", as per the signage on the outside? Seems to indicate the name, otherwise wouldn't it just be 'Dreamworld' Patisserie & Grill', surely? That's my theory anyway ? Thanks for the info quotes btw, @Jamberoo Fan. Nice to get an idea on what time frame we are looking at. Yes, I agree that April seems to be a reasonable opening window, given its current state. Clearly a lot of work still needs to be done. But I'm already digging the modern look ceiling and what not, definitely an improvement on what it used to look like ☺️ I'm definitely keen to hit up that Jelly Belly store! They are the only type of jelly beans I like lol ?

Still no movement or word on what's happening with the Vintage Cars at Dreamworld. Like the Log Ride, there is still no reopening date scheduled. Had a stickybeak today and they just seem to be sitting there gathering dust.... ?

Just thought I'd upload a pic I took this arvo of what's happening inside the old Marketplace area at Dreamworld. It's being advertised outside as a new Patisserie & Grill opening "soon'" (as far as I'm aware there hasn't been a date set yet) and certainly sounds yummy ☺️ Hopefully it will open this year sometime ☺️?

Ugh. For what it's worth, I hadn't even noticed that Brad had posted VTP instead of VRL, and (like most here, I'm sure) I frankly don't bloody care, either. Can we please move on now? I was enjoying reading everyone's feedback on the 1H17 results until it all changed to be fussing over trivial crap ? @Jamberoo Fan with all due respect, I know you mean well, but seriously dude.... maybe consider that biting your tongue may be the better option instead of potentially derailing a topic over something most people wouldn't care about? ?
