Topgolf attraction coming to the Gold Coast
Theme Park Girl replied to rac2703's topic in Theme Park Discussion
You're welcome @rac2703? And not being a golf fan personally, I think it's a waste of good rollercoaster money lol. But I'm sure it will cater to the golf fans out there.... -
-
Maybe it's a famous rock? Needs its own pedestal?
-
@Zanstabar what time? I'll be heading in during the morning. I think @JaggedJanine was thinking of doing the same (we usually meet up and wander around together ) so that could very well be possible if you'll be there early
-
Look, @reanimated35. They fixed the patch ????
-
Here you go @UpperCoomera... As promised. I may have more on my laptop, will have a look tomorrow when it's not 1.30am ??
-
^^^ pretty much
-
They definitely are. If you look at the photos I posted on the prev page, there's one of a divider with a pic of the artist's impression of the finished product on it, including upgraded facades. They will look heaps better!
-
No worries @UpperCoomera And don't worry, I have similar fascinations that others would find weird lol. I drive my family nuts because I love to take photos of "everything" I'm currently trying to get a photo of every coaster on the Goldie in an empty state (ie. no passengers) as a personal challenge. And, unlike the majority of the population, I actually WANT a ride to break down whilst I am on it. Especially Scooby Doo! Never happens, though We all have our own quirks, I guess
-
Hey @UpperCoomera, I probably do at home (I'm at work atm) as I have folders and folders of theme park photos lol. I know I've got one of the River Rapids half empty from when it was playing up last week. I'll post them for you when I get home

God So because I posted a while back speculating that maybe it could be a fountain or water feature going in that spot (because of what looked like pipes and hoses initially there when it was a dirt patch) he has apparently decided to take that idea and completely run with it... hook, line and sinker I don't think anyone actually confirmed at any stage that that's what it was, if anything there was disagreement over the idea. I think its pretty clear now that it's a garden and not a fountain lol. So why is he still posting that it is?

The local MP for the division that Movie World sits in. Surprised you missed all the ongoing kerfuffle on Movie World's Facebook page over recent months. People have been kicking up a stink for a while now about the prayer 'room' being moved to the kids section of the park. Although they were already whinging about its existence before that, when it still stood in the now DC Super-Villians Unleashed area. Honestly I wonder if maybe they have just closed it off to avoid any further controversy. Out of sight, out of mind, iykwim. They might not have decided what to actually do with the area yet.

Movie World Fright Nights 2016
Theme Park Girl replied to Jay Jay The Jet Plane's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Maybe they are just sharing a photo from a previous year, they could have just come across it in an old FB album or desktop folder and decided to reshare it. There's nothing to suggest that's where they were at the time they actually posted the pic online. It's just describing where they were and what they were doing when the photo was taken, if you know what I mean. The comments also pretty much clarify that it was a past event, not a recent one ? ETA: looks to me like the actors featured in this ad... especially the older lady, who is playing the creepy old mother (maybe that's why they are now refer to her as 'mumma bear') ? -
I think the confusion over the price tag is being caused because there is an 's' on the end of it ie. Plural, meaning more than one? I have to admit I assumed he meant multiple hundred millions because of that 's'.

I think you'll find that it's because whenever the Wipeout plays up, which has been pretty often this year, they need to drain it completely so mechanics can access the underside of it. Those little panels along its bottom is how they access its insides, circuitry and what not. Imagine how long it would take if it was completely full every time? And we all know the old girl, as much as we love her, has been causing Dreamworld a few headaches of late ?
-
Well, there it is.... Yay! Never been there before ???

Personally I'd rather not see a Coaster go on ibis Island. There's something serene about having a somewhat untouched nature reserve in the middle of a theme park. I've learnt to appreciate this whilst standing next to the river at the Aussie Sheep Shearing show shed. If you think about all the other theme parks, most of them are artificially man made grounds now. Movie World is surrounded by swamp, but everything in inside has been placed there, iykwim. I know that's how ibis Island and the river started off at DW, but it's since become a habitat for a lot of wildlife. It also gives the park an 'Aussie outback' feel, which is perfect for the Corroboree. If anything was to go on that Island, I'd rather see something like what Sea World had in its early days with their adventure island - a playground made of ropes and logs, that blends into its environment. Kids would love that, especially if a couple of secure bridges were built to access it, or even a little ferry doing scheduled runs back and forth. The foundations and jetties are already there in a couple of places from past use. And if it's done right, no trees will have to be removed, and it can still be utilised as a habitat for the animals which are happy to share with humans. I'm sure some boundaries can be set either way. @The Original Belinda Brown have Dreamworld ever considered doing something like this for ibis Island, as opposed to a modern day amusement/thrill ride of sorts?

You mean this shop? ? I actually took a pic of it a couple of days ago because guest services pretty much confirmed for me that that's where the new logo store would be going. They also said that they are almost ready to start work on it! Might explain as well why this shop was still closed around 2pm Wed arvo. I reckon they are preparing to empty it?

Interesting. SE broke down twice on Monday due to the same issue. I was at the ride exit trying to get a shot of the empty train, had to wait ages for the doors to open once it had pulled in. When they eventually did, the attendants were releasing the harnesses from its passengers manually, one row at a time. Ride closed for about half an hour following that ? I suppose at the end of the day though, it's better a ride be overzealous with its safety measures than the alternative ?? Thanks for that @JaggedJanine. I have to admit I've not seen either on the park! Not once. And as you guys probably knowz I go to MW quite a bit lol. I only know they exist via the photos of others. I guess I just just have bad timing ??

Somebody might want to tell the Theme Park Social Network this. He's been going around preaching that both of these oldies are making a comeback via a press release next month. Along with the reopening of the mine ride and a second tower of terror, of course

If it did, they would have to buy or build a new one. Hubby & and I had a discussion about it with Peter the train driver a while back, he confirmed that the old one was sent to the chipper years ago.
