  1. Given most manufacturers are based in Europe I doubt we will see any major changes to sizing of ride seats.
  2. Six Flags Over Texas but not Fiesta Texas? Bit crazy if you ask me!
  3. Actually no, Rivals was a massive fuck up when it came to marketing. Something obviously happening yet when it came to the park talking about it their head was that far into the sand it might as well have been on the other side of the world. They announced the ride not long before construction started, nothing wrong there. When it is nearing completion then they should really push the marketing about what it is and what the experience will entail. You don't wait until half way to three quarters complete before finally saying something. It would be like only now announcing the changes to Paradise Pier at DCA or announcing the Star Wars land. You build hype before construction starts then use milestones to keep the momentum going.
  4. Guess that answers the questions around the sand appearing on the reclaimed land.
  5. Extremely unlikely that happened given the mechanical part of the launch isn't the main problem but the system that runs it. As mentioned the fact they cheaped out and didn't spend money on full overhaul is why the ride runs like absolute shit compared to its US counterpart. Easier (cheaper) just to wind back the speed and call it a day.
  6. Will agree there, Six Flags does a better job with loading rides these days and their staff actually seem happy and like they want to be there.
  7. Guess it means no more referring to them as "Another Major Fuckup" when they drop the ball on things of a non social bowling nature.
  8. Bring back the $200-300 for one park passes! Let's see all the compulsive whingers come out of the woodwork then. $140 is cheap. If you can't afford that then maybe pass ownership isn't for you.
  9. That corner of the park sure is one massive cluster fuck. Pick a theme and stick with it FFS!
  10. Yeah but Six Flags has rides and attractions you would want to experience with your friends.
  11. Also agree with the above post in that FN is no competition to HHN. Even the event Knott's puts on is leaps ahead of Fright Nights and they do it without IP.
  12. At $55 per hour at the cheapest is it more than reasonable for two people. The only people I see having a problem with it is someone with no friends but honestly this type of attraction is clearly aimed at a group. Would be like going to Strike or Kingpin without friends, might as well just stick with a traditional bowling alley instead.
  13. I don't have an issue with games like this however I do have an issue with how it looks. Screams a Friday afternoon ten minutes before leaving work job.
  14. I am over a hour away and find myself visiting Chermside more often since the expansion. The outdoor dining area is great and has more of a beach/sea vibe to it than the covered area at Sea World. Guess all the trees/water help. Kinda ironic that a lack of fountains has me preferring a shopping centre.
  15. Massive Ibis influx to the park Given the fact WnW has closed today and events are being postponed 100% chance of weather for most of those closures.
  16. My reasons for going is it comes across as the "Kingpin" of golf. Public transport to accommodation in Surfers has become much easier with the light rail extension. Will be a stay down the coast for the night after some drunken golf shenanigans with a few friends thing for me. The idea of a normal golf range doesn't really interest me as much as the social and somewhat competitive nature Top Golf brings to the table. Ironically Kingpin doesn't really interest me as much as I can get cheaper games at AMF.
  17. Rode Kong last year, wasn't that bad. Preferred it over Arkham due to the stupidly heavy on your legs restraints Arkham has. Need to seek out a SLC with the new style trains to see how they compare.
  18. They were installed on the Gold Coast least than 13 years ago, however they came from a park in Brazil that opened in 1996 so if they were installed in Brazil from opening they would be closer to 22 years old now.
  19. Yeah, amazing to think at one time we had three in the country. Guess we are lucky to have one still.
  20. There is still this one in Indonesia operating according to RCDB https://rcdb.com/10419.htm
