  1. Because putting in a coaster that has nothing to do with the DC universe in an area of DC character attractions and shops will make perfect sense!
  2. ** Looks at Bermuda Triangle in its prime ** Even if we don't ever see "world class" themeing on rides we will get some that will help the asthetics of the ride. Disney are good at what they do because of how long they have been doing it plus they have a whole engineering team around it. I think it is safe to say there will be some sort of themeing to this ride. The video is just a render of what the track will look like and think was left basic incase something happened and they couldn't go Green Lantern. Seeing what is done with things like Fright Nights this year the parks can do decent themeing and be up there with the leaders when it comes to things like that so there is still hope for the rides. I can't see another Scooby level of themeing for a ride but any is better than none at all. Batwing Spaceshot is an example of where a small amount of themeing can be effective.
  3. Makes me gald to be at work today although standing in line would be better than the day I have had so far
  4. Yeah, we were a bit outnumbered but everyone seemed to get along and got a vibe from the group that it was a good afternoon and they were grateful for the opportunity. Will say this orgy mentioned in the other thread didn't happen but upon first arrival it was kinda obvious why! But yeah, given everything that has happened of late with all the pages everyone was well behaved and was great to see people together enjoying an common interest. Will say I have already got people I work with asking me about the fright nights so I will say it has worked for a word of mouth advertising point of view.
  5. Couple of shots of the Arkham maze. Even with the lights on it was still quite dark in there. Will say it was a great afternoon and really look forward to future events that Parkz organises. Like to put it out there and suggest organising a night where Parkz members meet up and experience the mazes in their full glory. Would like to thank VRTP for taking the time to show us around the mazes. Great to see you taking the time to offer something special to the community and really interested in amy future events. Definitely worth taking a day off work to see what is being done for this years Halloween event. Dare I say it I think I am more excited for Halloween this year than the pending opening of Buzzsaw.
  6. Was going to post this before but thought people would have read in the latest update it being said it is an El Loco. Steel Hawg track: Movie World track: Should be somewhat obvious what is being built. For starters Eurofighter track supports bolt directly to the track and don't have a flat plate as seen in the two photos above.
  7. Or do what I am doing, stop what you are doing and send it irregardless of where I am or what I am doing. I do work retail though so I am sure stopping for a minute won't be too much of a problem!
  8. Might see if I can get work to allow me to have the night off, being such short notice chances would be low but think I am owed a day from Easter. Sounds a good event and an opportunity that shouldn't be passed off.
  9. And it seems we have another wing rider. This time at Dollywood. Wild Eagle. Only four inversions but think it will turn out better than what Six Flags are doing. Additional information and photos are at http://www.dollywood2012.com/
  10. I rarely travel on the Gateway, only to get to the airport. As for the M1 you obviously travel on it at a different time to me as I usualy have no trouble being able to do the speed limit. Your car should be able to easily do the speed of Superman anyway. Worst motorway I travel on is the Ipswich only due to the lovely 9 or so kilometres of roadworks. As for the new tiger attraction will be interesting to see what happens there. Wonder if there will be any upcharge associated with it.
  11. Will have to agree there Gazza. It is the best looking project for this and next year I have seen coaster wise. Heard it referred to as Montus European cousin
  12. ^ This!!! I run one of the sites/pages mentioned in the other thread and will say when it comes to news as to whats happening I prefer to direct people to parkz when the information is more up to date or less than official than what I have. This is the only Australian community site I visit when I am looking at what has been happening at the parks recently and don't have the chance to get to them myself. Everything from the Village parks I have read comes from here as I just don't trust the other sites as much as I do this one. Personally I can't see the ride being referred to as a Batman ride. Three rides in the one area with Batman name is just too much.
  13. Err didn't most stocks plummet in the last week? I know a company I have shares in lost around $2-3 per share so that is an unfair assumption to make. Especially given the way things are globally at the moment.
  14. Great update. Good to see that Parkz is not willing to post official updates with photos from a camera phone. This is why I come here for updates and not the other wannabes!
  15. Why won't they spend $16 million on a new ride now? Shareholders! They want maximum return for their investment. If you have a cheaper ride that will gain a similar amount of interest to a multimillion dollar mega coaster which do you think will be chosen?
  16. Wasn't a bad little park and went a few times when it was open. From what I understand it closed due to the owners not being able to afford the insurance for the place. Nothing much left as far as the slides go. The hill they were on and walkway at the top are still there only now the place is some sort of motorcycle museum now. Go past it anytime I head towards Ipswich/Brisbane.
  17. Doesn't it also mention him as CEO of Ardent Leisure? Given the fact nothing has been mentioned about a new attraction for White Water World it would be quite the surprise.
  18. From the ASX release under the Ardent Leisure listing "Noel Dempsey, has tendered his resignation in order to pursue new interests." Interesting move. Big question is who will they choose to replace him and what direction they take with the properties.
  19. Exactly what I am thinking looking at the photos
  20. I hear http://www.rcdb.com/m/10048.htm is a less French version of the site
  21. You have to remember TPR uses its services to leverage access. The on-ride footage is generally included as part of a deal between them and a park and this allows them to seem to "give away" exclusive areas access. Their trip would be seen as one giant international media visit showing off the parks to a worldwide audience and getting additional attention to the parks from people who might not have ever heard of the parks let alone think of visiting there. This is where it is hard for a community like ours which is a local niche community in comparison to the juggernaut that is TPR. There is no harm in trying for something with the parks but cannot see it being a "complimentary" deal like what TPR got or the level of access as far as filming goes. The biggest question is what would we like to see from the parks. ERT is kinda pointless as most of us have passes and can ride the rides almost any time. Maintenance areas are something that can be done during park hours and don't necessarily have to be out of park hours. I would really like to see organised with one of the parks a "bash" style event with backstage access, lunch, Q&A with management and option of ERT either before or after hours. Just a matter of getting one of the parks willing to get on board with it and what kind of cost and group size would be needed for it to be viable.
  22. Looking at what I saw on Sunday knew it was going to happen this week
  23. Could do like another park and get the ride running then add to the theming...
