I was sitting there happily minding my own business browsing through pictures of Drachen Fire & Oblivion earlier tonight. I looked at Oblivion, and said, "god dammit, those supports are really thin". I looked at Drachen Fires supports, and said, "they're reasonably sized for the track size. I took another look at Oblivion, and I was looking at the catwalk area on top of the lift hill towards the drop area, and they were really really really thin! I couldnt help but wonder, if anyone here knows why Oblivion, and some other B&M's (Kraken is another example, when you keep in mind its filled with sand, which would make the otherwise rather heavy track a lot heavier.) supports seem so thin compared to other roller coasters. Is it because they're made from stronger materials, or their somehow put into magically formulated spots so that they dont have as much strain, or is it because B&M are just masterful at their game?

I dont think the Zipper is by any means ugly. It looks thrilling. It looks like a menacing piece of machinery, and it looks damn impressive at night time. What another problem would be though, is if it'd be popular at Luna Park, with all the little kids I saw there the day I went, I cant help but feel that it'd be a little unpopular.
-
Thats what I said didnt I? Oh, I said the 32 version. Bah. Rainbow at Luna Park? really, it'd be too boring unless it was right next to the water (then it'd be exciting!). As for some rides lying there near a freeway construction, well, on the Camden Valley way, there is a whole fleet of rides sitting there, although I think they may be used from time to time. The only one I can remember being there is a Cha-Cha, but there are others. Another ride I'd like there: A Zipper, I very much agree, it'd be an awesome addition to the park, and at nightime, dare I say, It'd look spectacular, if it was lit properly of course.

But I thought it was unfeasable for Dreamworld to put a big new roller coaster in because of lack of moolah. And another thing, I'd be more concerned with that awful Zamperla flying contraption that we saw before, I'd much rather Vekoma (<_<) than that disgusting piece of machinery.
-
Gazza, would you really trust Vekoma to alter and play around with our beloved Cyclone? I certainly wouldn't, I mean, just look whats happening to the Lethal Weapon and Wipeout as merely two instances.
-
I think that its good that the rides are of a carnival 'coney island' atmosphere, cause thats what they're going after really. What would I like to see there? A KMG Experience or A KMG Moveit 32
-
Indeed, like a god damn B&M (hint hint) I hated the Thunderbolt, I hated everything about it right down to the smelly harnesses. It was rough, pretty boring in comparison to the Cyclone, and was boring and white (I reckon they should change the colours of the Corkscrew at Seaworld but oh well). It also, as mentioned was screechy, and was rusty. It deserved to die. No offence to those that were fans of it.
-
I wouldnt call the last loop intense though, I;d say that the Loops on the thinderbolt were much more intense, but releving too, a nice rest from the headbanging.
-
Well, I like the Cyclone, I remember as some person put it that its great cause its in reverse of most Arrow loopers, the inversions being at the end with the twists and levelling out coming after it, rather than it being the other way around, like it usually is. And it does make it a lot more Exciting I hear, but meh, Ive never been outside of Aus... As for if I like it, I sure do. It was better when it was at Luna Park because as it went down into ditches (near the loop, after the first drop) and over buildings it was pretty darn cool and cramped, but its still plenty of fun now, that is, it was, cause last time I rode it was 2 years back (I think)... I like the Cyclone, a helluva lot more than The Thunderbolt too, that was one horribly rough ride.

Seaworld's New Atraction-what do you think?

I know this may seem off topic, but I'd love to have a huge elephant exhibit at Dreamworld. I mean, come on, Elephants are so cool! and if they can have tigers surely they can have elephants! -
"About a minute later, and engineer jumped on the wipeout and jumped up and down on the gondola till it was in position." Good ol Vekoma ey? hehehe

I beleive it was sometime late last year or early this year, but that only what Ive heard, I havnt been up ther for 3 years or summat.
-
Indeed I would, its something that bugs me a lot when people refer to othger by their first name, when they dont know em. Although just typing 'Bolliger & Mabillard' would have been fine, its all good to type in 'Walter Bolliger & Claude Mabillard' if you wish.

2004 Royal Melbourne Show Review
Nebuchanezzar replied to HussRainbow's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Heh, you get a lot of that on this site. Everyone has 'information' that they aren't allowed to tell. Sorry if I sound a bit annoyed, but its not like your dealing with war intelligence here people. -
Is it just the speed of the swinging that changes, or it is both the swinging and the spiraling?
-
Whoa, hey, thats harsh. Hes not a bad guy, just because he triple posted or whatever. Its reasonable to be excited about your first ride on the (Fake) Claw, right?
-
Mark Beretta? Yeah, my mum watched it and said that they were commenting on who it was made by, how it got here, how many there are round, who Intamin are etc. It looks like its just more than a new ride now.
-
Walt & Claude? scince when have you been on a first name basis with them?
-
Its looking pretty sweet. Even though the inclined Dive Loop really isnt an inversion, it still looks pretty sweet. My favourite element is still that jojo roll thingo, it looks pretty darn cool. As for the elements before the lift hill, do you really think it'd make that much difference, apart from the fact that there would be a rest point during the middle of the ride (which could be a bad thing after all).

Well there you go. Im quite flattered that you decided to research all that info about my name. I did name it after the ship in the Matrix and found out about this king afterwards. Surely I could have went for something like "Jim" or "The Claw" [the KMG/Durkin one, not the Intamin/Dreamworld one] but that would have been grossly unoriginal. -
The Great Debate: What is the best game of all time?
Nebuchanezzar replied to brady's topic in Gaming
Bah, for me, my favourite game will always be Rarewares classic game: Banjo-Kazooie, theres no way you can get a classier or more sophisticated game than that. After that then its probably Banjo-Tooie, only cause its not a classy! -
Ok, heres a question Is there any mod or summat for the game, where you can make it so that there is no limit for the amount of scenery that you have in the game. Because to work Movieworld properly, it looks like your gonna have to have a helluva lot of scenery in there. So is there?

I love the way the Claw has smashed through the car, but the thing is, that looks like a real car thats been smashed for that. Is it?

What the heck does that mean? If you meant what Nebuchanezzar is, is just some ancient god, cept with the 'D' taken out of the name (Nebuchadnezzar). If thats not what you meant, I have a question for you, what did that question mean? -
