  1. Hi ads, I do agree. One day is enough to do everything but could have gone a second day... Looking at heading to Ferrari world in Dubai for 2013 with a stopover at universal Singapore. Looking forward to it !
  2. For those who might be planning a trip... http://www.groupon.com.au/deals/travelcity/Travel-Smoove/716206958?nlp=&CID=AU_CRM_1_0_0_201&a=715827940
  3. Hi Rich! Thanks for taking the time to join up! Conversations can be very interesting here so hold on tight! Looking forward to meeting you. Nathan
  4. I agree DJ. I really don't think it will operate how richardsilliamcollins stated above.... I mean, take a look at the closed river ride. They had a few preshow rooms but it didn't mean all of the guests were loaded into the boats prior to the next group arriving... I also believe that the whole building has been gutted and the interior is going to be set up very differently. A difference of opinion is fun, and it's good to hear people's ideas, but declaring your way as THE only way it will be is a little premature based on the facts we have so far and the way similar attractions re dealt with overseas.
  5. from what I have read their will be 20 pods and the ride takes about 5 minutes. The pods on these type of rides only usually fit 2-4 people. Someone with better maths skills will be able to work it out better than I, but if running at full capacity it would be 1 pod ride = 5 minutes load/unload = 1 minute guesstimate so each pod can do a full rotation of the ride every 6 minutes, meaning 10 trips an hour. meaning 10 trips an hour by 20 pods is 200 trips total at full capacity. with a capacity of 2-4 in each pod that would mean 400-800 capacity an hour. This does not sounds right to me anyone else care to give the maths a try?
  6. Second to ask for a thread lock please. If the kids can't play nicely together then they shouldn't have the sandbox to play in.
  7. So for those that care Avalanche will operate for the last time on Sunday and then will be closed forever to make way for the new Kung Fu Panda attraction. It won't be a re-theme.
  8. The only one i can think of was in 2011 when a man was blinded on Dragon Challenge at IOA. It was never clear what happened to cause this but the man claimed it was just prior to the two coasters passing each other during one of the stages of the coaster. In October IOA announced that Dragon Challenge would no longer run at the same time so the company and most people assume that a guest on the other train lost an object from a pocket or threw an object at the other train.
  9. I see this as a non-issue. It's never been cheaper to go to the park. Pay your two bucks and contribute to the park andits upkeep. Think of it as ur donation for enjoying such a Great park at such an incredibly low entry price.
  10. Hi all, I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on what Dreamworld needs to do to combat WVTP's current dominance. I know a few people are disappointed with the current direction so am keen to hear your thoughts. Specifically, let's look at at least a 5 year plan to change Dreamworld and put it back at number one. I'll post my thoughts soon. Nate
  11. Congratulations and thanks Richard. Appreciate it
  12. One could argue that Movieworld cheaped out on batwing and the queue for green lantern. Dreamworld have spent a lot of money on DreamWorks and who knows how much they had to spend to retain big brother. Pop, u have no idea what's planned for Dreamworld, just as the Expansions in the last few years from Movieworld have come as a surprise. I'm not a Dreamworld fanboy, I'm just trying to explain that these things do happen in cycles. Who knows where the parks will be in 5 years. Remember wvtp have also closed attractions (and in a park that is severly lacking the ability to be a whole day experience). I'm calling it as I see it man, and competition is very healthy for the parks.
  13. I would guess in its original form the eviction stage fir around 2500-3000 people. The studio was purpose built for big brother. The eviction stage in the past has been used for corporate events and there was also a magic show there a couple of school holidays.
  14. thats true, it was a loaded question. How long ago did the bushranger show close? Dreamworld have never had a huge show and ent department have they?
  15. Movieworld have definitely made better decisions in the last few years. Dreamworld need to sit up and take notice. I am neither team dw or mw. Competition is important though. For many years Dreamworld was number one and they did not expect Movieworld to make a splash but look what's happened. I suspect within thr next 18 months we will see some capital investment at Dreamworld begin and over the nex t5-10 years while Movieworld take a break. These things come in waves. It is great the Movieworld have upped the anti. In the long run its only going to make both parks better.
  16. Look, I didn't mind Buzzsaw. It was fun with just the lapbar. I wouldn't line up more than 30 minutes for it but it was fun. Captain Sturt... I do wonder how many people actually were getting on board. I mean, its not a people mover and it's just a lap around a disused lake so I don't know how popular it would have been. One that are complaining about its closure I would be interested to know when was the last time you rode it and how often when u visited the park did u make the effort to go on it? Times change and attactions close. The boat was probably costing more to keep running then was garnering the public it needed to warrant it
  17. Kkdreamspace..... What an interesting new member you are! Certainly have brought a smile to my face tonight. I'm not boycotting Dreamworld... I didn't realise there was a boycott in place lol. I like Dreamworld for what it is. I have low expectations of Dreamworld and can have just as good a day their as Movieworld! Welcome to the boards kk... Even if it is just a quick visit
  18. That's true wes... Could u imagine it being like poohs honey hunt with vehicles that can travel through areas differently each time? That would be incredible! You could have the 8 screens so every car travels past but different viewpoints of the animatronics in a pooh like craziness where u can just shoot at whatever u want.
  19. I think a trackless system makes it a lot more exciting ! I wonder if the budget included the tear down of Batride?
  20. Update from mw Facebook that there will be some new info on the ride in gold coast bulletin tomorrow. Great pics. thanks for sharing
  21. I experienced Bermuda with no on ride audio more often then not. From what I'm hearing here it sounds like the audio does not enhance a storyline like Bermuda and the river ride did.... I say, focus on Justice League and get that smashing and awesome, and then figure out a little audio quirk with gl
