Awesome idea for a thread! Was just coming by to post about Leviathan, and saw this thread. Leviathan looks A.M.A.Z.I.N.G . It makes a trip to Canada seem even more crucial to my life. You can follow constuction at http://www.leviathan.canadaswonderland.com/ I love that the overseas parks tend to announce coasters and release a lot of info even before it begins construction!! Makes me wish our parks did the same...

Dreamworld have released a video on their youtube page It looks like you can be the first to ride when it opens as long as you agree to sleepover at Dreamworld the night before.

At the village parks, attendance increased by to 4.9million (up from 4.5) Village confirmed they sold 825,000 VIP Passes but reported a decrease in sales revenue of 7%. Net profit for VRTP dropped by 25% Ardent parks also had an increase in attendance to 2.7million with a slight increase to revune (3%) People were spending less in park with per capita spending down to $30.90 (it was nearly $50 last year) Thoughts?

http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2011/08/19/342371_gold-coast-business.html A quick look at Todd's employment history on LinkedIN shows that he was Chief Executive Officer Australia's Wonderland & The Australian Wildlife Park for 7 years (91-98) I think this sounds like a good move for Ardent. -
Hi All, I am not exaggerating when I say that I am receiving a lot of interest in my inbox about this event. For those of you that are sending messages about having friends etc coming along to this Preview, then they are more than welcome. I think it is fair to ask however, that they also become Parkz members. Parkz is an open community and your friends and family members are more than welcome to join in on the conversation. Even just by saying G'Day in the Introduce yourself thread here they will be contributing. If you haven’t sent me a message yet, and you are still keen to attend it is definitely not too late! Once the date and time is confirmed I will be asking each of you to re-confirm your availability. I expect a few people will be unavailable and there will be more than enough room for those who can (and will) attend. As I said previously, I hope that this event will not be the first that Parkz offers. This event is a prototype for future activities with our local Parks, and although spaces may be limited this time around, there is a possibility of higher capacity events in the future. In conclusion, get in on the conversations. Please don’t be a lurker. I joined this site and lurked for a while. but once I started posting I haven’t looked back. The more people getting involved in the Parkz community the better this place will be, and we may even be able to get better Parkz Perkz in the future. As per my note in the Bermuda Triangle thread,at the moment, there are no immediate plans for replacements for Bermuda Triangle and Looney Tunes River Ride. VRTP want to focus on the new Nick contract at Sea World and the new car park attraction at Movie World. In my opinion, I have some faith in what they are doing. The River Ride was showing it's age. Could they have kept it open? Probably yes. But would the quality of the ride have detracted from your whole day experience at Movie World. Probably yes. I think 2012 will see big things for these water rides. Will they get a discount if they buy 2 from the same manufacturer? Nathan

Bermuda Triangle is officially closed... Now what?
aussienetman replied to reginaphalange's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I was given the opportunity to speak with management at Village Roadshow today and asked them about the future of Bermuda Triangle and the River Ride. The response was basically that Village Roadshow Theme Parks are focusing their attention on the brand new attractions already announced at their parks. The Jet Ski Extreme Show, Spongebob Squarepants Parade and Dora the Explorer Show at Sea World, and the new attraction at the front of park at Movie World. At the moment, there are no immediate plans for replacements for Bermuda Triangle and Looney Tunes River Ride. VRTP are committed to the quality of their attractions, and offering new experiences and attractions to the local VIP customers are one of the top priorities. I say we wait it out and be patient. I would love them to spend a long time making something brilliant then disappointing with a poor attempt that is slapped together. nate -

I spoke with VRTP today, and at this stage no plans have been made to remove the Sesame Street Beach theme. Elmo and Spongebob can live harmoniously side by side Nathan -
Just thought I'd post some new info received from Warner Bros. Movie World today. Yes, Wild West Falls is closed for annual maintenance. Yes, a new attraction is being built at the front of the park - but Movie World remained tight lipped on anything but the word "Attraction" They know what they are doing with the new "Attraction", and have not posted anything official yet because they are not ready to announce the details. They did tell me however, that they are close to an announcement and to keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks! Exciting times ahead I managed to deduce that the new "attraction" would have a theme, but Movie World would not confirm or deny what it was being themed to. So not really a whole lot of info to pass on, but thought I'd type it anyway. I had a look at the footprint today and it is huge! The ground has been levelled on the car park side of the drain so is it possible the new attraction will be built that far out? Nathan

This October, Fright Nights will be returning to Warner Bros. Movie World and today I was able to get the inside scoop on the plans for 2011. While rumours have been floating around that this year’s event will be toned down for a more family friendly audience, Village Roadshow Theme Parks have informed me that this is definitely not the case. This year, Movie World will be ramping up the scares with a brand new Arkham Asylum Maze attraction and more street scares than ever before. With four themed mazes ( Zombie Apocalypse anyone?) Movie World is going all out to ensure that this year the frights will be bigger and better, and Parkz has an awesome Preview for all members. In conjunction with Warner Bros. Movie World, Parkz are excited to give members the opportunity to be one of the first to experience Fright Nights 2011. Within the next fortnight, Movie World will be opening the 2011 Saw Maze to a preview audience - us! Parks members will get to take a terrifying preview tour through the updated Maze and come face to face with the Jigsaw Killer and his fright crew in an event held at Movie World. Registration is essential. This Fright Night preview event is free to attend, however Movie World entry is not included. The event will be filmed by Warner Bros. Movie World to be used in marketing material for Fright Nights 2011 and by registering for this event you waive all rights etc in regards to the usage of your likeness and voice on film. Confirmation of the date and time will be updated here once confirmed with Warner Village Theme Parks. The event will be held on a weekday, most likely late afternoon within the next two weeks. If you would like to pre-register your interest in attending this event then please send me a private message. Further details will be forwarded to you once confirmed with Village Roadshow Theme Parks. Registration is open to all Parkz members, and you may register family/friends as well. I will need further information from you upon your pre-registration but this will be sent to you in a reply email. Places are strictly limited and as this event contains explicit horror scenes and experiences, it is not recommended for children under the age of 14 years. If you have any questions or comments about this event please post here, but please keep it positive. If you have comments that are negative then please send them to me in a private message and I will answer. I am hoping that this event will be the first of many for Parkz, and it is a big step in a great direction to further our relationship with the Theme Parks. Please also note that Richard has approved my discussions with VRTP. Fright Nights are sounding awesome again this year and I can't wait to see what Movie World have in store! Nathan ------------------------------------------------------ If you are a VIP Gold pass holder, you can reserve your free ticket at Fright Nights now! With strictly limited numbers each night, 2011 Fright Nights is sure to be a sell out. https://myfun.com.au/big3/Fright-nights.aspx For more information about Fright Nights search “Fright Nights” on Facebook and join the official page. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Movie-World-Fright-Nights/111248155597515 If you prefer to scare your audience and fancy yourself a thespian, applications are now open for performers for Fright nights http://www.seek.com.au/Job/halloween-fright-night-performers-amp-actors/in/gold-coast-gold-coast/20346722 Always remember to stay tuned to Parkz.com.au for all the details when they come.

Wow. Great news for Seaworld. Makes more sense for Seaworld to be the home of Spongebob. I did not see this coming... Omg... The volcano could be carved into a giant pineapple... I wonder what the parade route will be. In other news this is a good sign for show and ent staff... Surely a parade and new show will mean seaworld will gain more show and ent crew ... Or will the show at sesame street beach be discontinued... Also, did dreamworld make the decision to dump nick, or did seaworld offer nick a better deal? My head is swimming.. I'm going to.bed -
It does suck POP and I feel your pain. During off-season Movie world is a half-day park, and hopefully the new attraction coming at the end of the year will fill up the day more. The final drop at WWF has been removed completely. There are some photos on some of the unofficial fan pages of the WWF without its drop. It's pretty obvious a staff member has entered this area and taken the pic. I don't know how much theming they are working on, but the drop is definitely having some maintenance done.

"theme Park social network" appears to be another facebook fan page made up by a kid with no tie to WVTP. If I created a fan site on facebook and filled it with pics of the green lantern, would you assume it was a Green Lantern ride? Thrillrider, you are better off sticking to these forums then joining a facebook group. These forums have the up to date, Important and factual info when it comes out. I wouldn't believe most of the things that get posted on thr unoffical fan pages. Parkz is the only place for verified info from inside sources and the very talented admin team. If it hasn't been officially announced by a park, or its not here on Parkz, then its nothing but a rumour. Now, to start my catwoman rollercoaster fan page on facebook In fact, looking at the creator of "theme park social network" profile he seems to have a thing for superheroes in general (especially catwoman and Batman ) so a picture from thr new movie on his facebook fan page means nothing. Oh, and he's started spamming the official park walls which is a fantastic way to make friends with the parks.

News.com.au link Looks pretty good. At 9 million it seems a bit pricey, but this kind of ride would be a good addition at Wet N Wild

Sounds great Wilko. Went to Singapore to experience USS during it's soft opening and had an amazing time. It really is so quick to fly there (connection in Darwin from Brisbane) and it's so cheap to get over there. We bought a hotel and park pass, so recieved a goody bag when we checked into the hotel. It was an inexpensive trip, and when Transformers opens I might look into a VIP pass, they sound like good value. Oh, and Jurassic Park... WE WERE SOAKED TO THE CORE!@

Disneyland paris is the only Disney park I've been to. We were robbed on the train heading out to the park, so our 3 days there started badly. I had a great time My partner is not interested in Theme Parks, so we park-hopped on the first day. I ended up heading into the park by myself the following two days. So I was able to hit the single rider lines...
