  1. "Low maintenance costs and increased ROI"
  2. Is that ad trying to get me to ride it, or buy it?
  3. What you're all forgetting is that there isn't enough free blocks for three trains.
  4. A behind the scenes of the show people haven't seen yet? Yeah, that makes sense.
  5. I'd feel like DW are ripping customers off by being happy for them to ride it in the state it's been the last several years.
  6. It doesn't. Read the contextual clues and you'll quickly work out it's a typo.
  7. It would be pretty ordinary. My kid discovered he loved Batman after seeing one of those in main street, so I was considering taking him back there now he is a little older because I know he would love it. Sounds strange, but in our case it would probably make it not worth the visit.
  8. I dunno, if I'm looking at that from the other side it's easy to slap together a teaser for a story with your basics; "What do you have to hide from us and the public?" "How do you think the families of the victims are feeling as the inquest progresses?" Hell, if you wanted to go for maximum scum-media points you could roll up at the gate with a cammo, a soundie, a reporter and a family member of a victim. All of a sudden you're faced with the prospect of getting footage of the park telling the family member of a victim that they can't come in.
  9. Likely because the flip-side of that is them filming a refusal at the gate.
  10. Well capped-off, Roachie. I know feel I know a great deal more about a park I was only dimly aware of the history of, and a man I knew nothing of. Thankyou.
  11. Yeah, I guess I've got an issue with the "credible/respected academic" given if they were nearly as credible or respected as the news would paint them to be their suggestions might already be in place. An interview with the relatives of the victim is not really what we should call news.
  12. Re: the reported Cyclone incident Yeah, but given the reporting on it is so one sided how can we even be sure we should care at this point? We don't know who was on the ride. We don't know who dispatched it. We don't know why. We don't know what the outcome was. If we don't know any of those things, why would someone go to press with it unless they were trying to perpetuate a narrative? it could be dead-right, but we would never know like this. Also: Well, where the fuck was expert professor Quinlan protesting in the streets before the accident? My tip is: absolutely nowhere.
  13. A quick vox-pop. What are the last three things you can recall that added value to the park for you as a guest? Now, what are the last three things you can recall that Dreamworld did well? Things that added value for me: Tailspin (2014) Pandamonium (2012) The Claw (2004) Things that were done well: Tiger Island refurb (2016) Brock's Garage Motorsport Museum (2015) Dreamworks precinct (2012) God, I had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a few of these. I would have loved to have put the refurb of Wipeout on the 'done well' list, but I just haven't seen the reliability out of it, nor have I seen the theming ever look finished.
  14. I just don't quite understand the management thinking that let's this happen. The attraction is most certainly closed and not returning, so what's the sense in leaving signage out like some sort of hoarder? It's almost like someone has it in their head that leaving the signage up for a missing attraction is better than having no signage. It's gone, management; the first thing you should have done with the EWP is removed the signage, and only then should you strip it internally. Also, do you guys not keep an index or inventory of your signage around the park so you know exactly where to go when you make changes to your attraction line-up?
  15. Even an old, broken clock is right twice a day I suppose...
  16. I wonder if that same boss happened to notice the pizza oven no longer got to the temperature it was meant to and somebody had removed all the safety cutouts and left an exposed heating element?
  17. What does it say for the "thorough safety audit" that took place following TRR before the rides re-opened?
  18. ...how many maintenance staff does Dreamworld employ? There can't possibly be enough for them to be supervising maintenance on all of those attractions simultaneously, let alone doing the work themselves!
