  1. Just an update on this. According to Sea World's Facebook page the Sea Viper has reopened this week. It's good to see the park did invest the money to get it back up and operating.
  2. The Sally Corp press release seems to indicate the two-stage preshow which seems to have a very similar structure to the Batman Adventure preshow: http://sallycorp.com...ews-Release.pdf In saying this though, this doesn't confirm the two parts to the preshow being in the two rooms that they used to be in nor does it definitively state that there are two rooms.
  3. I still don't see this mentioned in the article you linked (which is just the Sally Corp press release anyway).
  4. Original, was Gazza's idea you were referring to? Also, just to support what Alex said, here is a link. The description says "DEMOLISH BERMUDA TRIANGLE RIDE & BUILDING INTERIOR" which to me says the building itself will remain intact and could be used for the replacement. If this is going to Sea World I wouldn't expect to see any word from the park about it until March/April next year following this statement earlier this year.
  5. PA: Police Academy LMA: Lights Motors Action DHS: Disney's Hollywood Studios
  6. Just came across this article from last month: I wonder what will eventuate as a result of this alliance. It's the first I've heard of the Las Vegas Wet'n'Wild plans too.
  7. That article is identical to the NewsParcs article posted last month in this topic.
  8. I believe it was filmed during Cast Member previews.
  9. Superman Ultimate Flight opens today at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. It's Premier Rides' version of a Maurer Sohne SkyLoop. It looks like a more solid ride experience.
  10. For global figures http://www.teaconnect.org/publications is your best bet (scroll down to "Global Attractions Attendance Report"). For Ardent Leisure's theme park division (DW, WWW, SkyPoint) you can find the data in their annual presentations: http://asx.com.au/as...ame=Y&year=2011 [*]FY 2011 = 2,751,879 [*]FY 2010 = 2,103,276 [*]FY 2009 = 1,919,630 [*]etc http://asx.com.au/as...ame=Y&year=2011 (individual results for WnW in recent years can be found in the TEA reports linked at the top). As these figures are bundled together for all their parks, I wouldn't know how useful they would be for analysis. There might be somewhere else I am overlooking though.
  11. In 1995, Dreamworld was purchased by a Singaporean businessman named Kua Phek Long. Within a year, the Tower of Terror was under construction and I am sure plans for the Giant Drop would have been underway. In 1998, during the Giant Drop's construction, Dreamworld was purchased by Macquarie Leisure (later renamed to Ardent Leisure).
  12. I know it has been mentioned before, but a GCI Big Fun wouldn't blow the budget for MW or DW. I'm pretty sure the price tag was around US$3 million. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pee7s7cbWm8
  13. http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2012/06/21/426411_gold-coast-news.html
  14. As part of Merlin's takeover of a heap of attractions in our region, they have been renaming them all slowly: - Sydney Wildlife World has become WILD LIFE Sydney - Sydney Tower has become Sydney Tower Eye - Hamilton Island Wildlife Park has become WILD LIFE Hamilton Island - Sydney Aquarium will become SEA LIFE Sydney - Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World will become SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's/SEA LIFE Auckland - Melbourne Aquarium will become SEA LIFE Melbourne* - Underwater World will become SEA LIFE Mooloolaba* * - although these two are not confirmed, they are listed as such on Merlin's website - http://www.merlinentertainments.biz/en/company/locations.aspx
  15. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Illuminate has operated since this time last year. The website has said coming next holidays since then.
  16. When you consider what a wild mouse is, and then consider what a Vekoma Mine Train is, this would be impossible.
  17. I'm pretty much in agreeance with you here Joz. If it was repainted and relocated to AWE, a museum featuring the history of Dreamworld that you mentioned could work well.
  18. Winter Wonderland was a once off two years ago. Unless I've missed something, I doubt it will be coming back.
  19. That's exactly what I was thinking. If you look at you'll see that their product they were advertising featured players interacting with the screens and objects in real life. I think that is exactly what we will see here but with 3d projections.
  20. I'm very pleased that the speculation of a Justice League interactive dark ride has turned out to be true. I think it would be safe to say that this statement from Sally Corp last year was about the ride:
  21. I think it could be possible that Dreamworld would look into the redevelopment of the ride. According to the Parkz database, Dreamworld did look into the redevelopment of the Thunderbolt before it was scrapped: http://www.parkz.com...hunderbolt.html
  22. http://www.themagica....php/simulation I believe this is the one djrappa referred to earlier.
  23. I think this is probably right. This could be considered 'new space' since I don't think anything has happened in the area for years.
  24. New rides expected by the September school holidays.
