Battlestar has been operating since February. Both Madagascar and Transformers are due to open this year in that order. Just as a side note, USS is having their grand opening on the 28th of May 2011 after their 14 month soft opening period. I'd expect Madagascar to be open by then with Transformers to follow in September.

Rainbows End got a Disk'O coaster. One up from the Mega. Two up from Aussie World's Redback. According to Zamperla, a standard Disk'O is a "tweener ride". A Mega Disk'O is slightly larger (taller and longer) version which can have a higher capacity (1000pph instead of 600pph). If Dreamworld are getting the 1000pph mega version over the standard one that's great because they have thought about capacity. If it's on the Nickelodeon Central side I think I'd expect an Avatar Airbender theme. If it's on the Ocean Paradse side I'd expect a weak surfing theme (if anything).

I'm assuming a Midi Disk'O is just a standard Disk'O like the Redback at Aussie World, right? The only options I see listed on the Zamperla website are for Disk'O, Mega Disk'O and Disk'O Coaster - no Midi Disk'O.

It's great to hear that the kids coaster will get the great level of day-before-opening themeing that the Motocoaster got.

VRTP began price slashing in February 2009 with the launch of the Q150 pass valid until June 2009 for $99. The Q150 transformed into the QLD VIP Pass for 2009-2010 and then the VIP Pass for 2010-2011. Ardent attempted to follow suit by offering a cheap pass ($30?) for the easter holidays and another one for the winter holidays in 2009. They then had $69 until Christmas 2009 and $99 until June 2010. They had a second round of these for 2010 followed by $69 from Summer until June 2011.

Even though the Sydney Attractions Group has been sold to Merlin Entertainments, Village Roadshow still appear to "operate" these attractions (i.e. sell tickets etc). I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of combo ticketing could be arranged between Merlin and Village. This allow them to achieve higher numbers, but a million for WnWS is pretty high for a first year.

Here's part two:

I think keadz was asking if you could highlight the area the fences surround. It would be great if you could do that. Thanks.

A couple of people have mentioned the possibility of a kiddie coaster as the family thrill ride due to open in June. I was commenting on a type of coaster which could be classed as thrilling for a family ride. This is separate to the major thrill ride launch for September. A ZacSpin could work considering the budget mentioned earlier. P.S. just in case you didn't notice was bumped from 2003.

Last year, I jumped on NearMap and measured that area and to be able to fit a Zamperla Disk'O. As for a kids coaster (that could be described as a family thrill attraction), maybe a Vekoma Junior Boomerang.

Just noticed in the latest release, Ardent has received approval to build the Skywalk. It is set to open in December this year.

Looking at Ermes Technologies Themed Entertainment page it sort of looks like Ermes might outsource to Sally Corp. Ermes has offices in Italy and the US. Sally has a whole list of countries in their footer including Australia. Has Sally worked on any Australian attractions before?

Guessing either Dora's replacement or the Motocoaster re-branded given the time constraints. They could have already started under the cover of night.

I can upload part 2 provided I can get my hands on a copy of the Sun. Just found this on the Grundys Entertainment Centre Facebook fan page. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1334815175456&set=o.5992703956

Just saw this in the Gold Coast Sun today. Thought it may be of interest to some.

Not exactly a walkthrough, but definitely some useful information on queue times: http://www.dlrpmagic.com/planning/advice/queue-times/

How about a small ProSlide RideHouse then?

I was confused when you stated there was a stunt show that's all. I created the database entries for the park so I knew about Lights Camera Action and I thought I had overlooked something else. As you've now stated though, it is a special effects show rather than a stunt show.
-
Do they have a stunt show other than Waterworld?
-
^ That's a cropped version of the original.

It was $2750 for the 9-day TPR Australia trip which included internal flights, accommodation, meals and theme park entry. $135 for wasn't too bad, but I think one of the major things with that was reputation. Also, some more POVs of Dreamworld (TOT2, MDMC, Cyclone) and Aussie World (Wild Mouse) are on TPR's YouTube account.

Aqua Play Train = Water Play Structure. Why didn't I think of that? I count eight slides on the schematic view for a Rainfortress so it could be one of them.

It was mentioned here a couple of days ago. Videos were embedded there yesterday also.

It sounds like just the easter period. In Ardent's latest report they state "Easter promotion will feature the exhibition of new exotic animal species with a strong unlimited value offer". They'll only be around while the National Zoo in Canberra renovates their exhibit. In 2011, Ardent's theme park division has plans for an exotic animal enclosure, 2 new rides and one new product (I think that the product is related to SkyPoint though). ...with any coaster track arriving July-August-ish.

A Fast Pass might work better at Disney. A Flash Pass is for Six Flags.
