  1. Forward and reverse POVs from Dreamworld:
  2. After posting in the water slide types thread I thought I'd add some of the latest other rides here. All of these pictures are from Theme Park Review. Anyone up for a launched wooden shuttle roller coaster which claims to have the longest airtime hill ever? How about a wooden high five racing coaster? Both of those are from Martin & Vleminckx. Finally, how about this strange contraption from KMG (which as I understand it flaps like a bird and spins in circles)?
  3. With this year's IAAPA been and gone, I thought I'd add some more to this list. All of these pictures are from Theme Park Review. So WhiteWater's Flume in Flume technology is going to be a body slide, attached to the roof of a mammoth slide like so: ProSlide are taking their Hydromagnetic Rockets to the next level by powering new Clover Wheel tubes up hills. Clover Wheels seat 6 in a similar fashion to the Clover Leaf which seat 4. I present the Hydromagnetic Mammoth: ProSlide have also developed something like the Twister but with sets of three slides wrapping around each other: Finally ProSlide are bundling their SuperLoop with other body slides. A similar tower is going into Water Country USA next year.
  4. Sea World have some additional summer entertainment lined up:
  5. ^^ Is Thrillz the next version of Parkz or is it just a major rip of all the content? If it is Richard I'll believe it, if not I won't just yet.
  6. White Christmas was announced December last year. I don't know how long Dreamworld had theirs in planning but I would think six months (the time from MWs announcement to the beginning of DWs event) would be enough time to throw together Winter Wonderland. I conclude that Dreamworld attempted to beat Movie World by getting in first.
  7. But this challenge is for two weeks making it run until the 4th - not the 27th.
  8. This is a separate ticketed event so you don't get free entry with a day pass. However, VIP pass gets you entry into one of the nights. The $40 is for if you don't own a VIP or want to go more than once.
  9. A couple of old commercials from the '80s:
  10. I was thinking that the Wild West stage would be a bit too far away from everything else. Rappa, by plaza, do you mean this area? Also Movie World now has a page on their website for it (other than the ticket page I linked to originally). The concept picture looks cool, and I think with 1500KG of lights it might be pretty accurate. Are they actually purchasing these - or just hiring? The paragraph below clarifies that the ice skating is a Looney Tunes show.
  11. Judging by the description of it I think it is definitely a replacement for the Oakey Creek Farm Show. The woolshed instantly reminded me of Paradise Country.
  12. Is this going to be in the wild west show stage or somewhere else?
  13. On the maintenance page they did say "improvements coming soon". I wouldn't class a new movie as improvements, so hopefully some additional effects are being added. They could advertise it as the biggest 4D theatre in Australia with their IMAX sized screen. I don't however expect them to go to the effort of installing new seats (like Shrek/JTTCOTE) - it'd be cool though.
  14. If you're so worried, bite the bullet and get a Q4U - I'm sure that will help.
  15. In addition to this it looks like Dreamworld will bring back Illuminate to finish off their nightly entertainment (following the Illusion and Jukebox shows). More information is available by clicking on any of those links or heading here.
  16. After it being reported just after Christmas last year, Movie World have finally announced what they are doing for Christmas this year. It is a separate ticketed event ($39.95 per person except VIP pass holders) that will run Thursday through to Sunday for the two weeks before Christmas. I find it silly that they've given every VIP pass holder a ticket but excluded any Annual pass holders who would've paid more for their pass. The park will operate from 6pm to 10pm with rides, Polar Express 4-D and a Christmas parade in addition to a million lights and a snowy sky. Tickets and terms and conditions are available here.
  17. ^ I'm a little skeptical about how much could be done before Christmas. It's only a little over a month away. I can see Illuminate coming back and maybe a new show but other than that, I can't see anything else happening for Christmas.
  18. Have you seen this particular post on Amusement Ride Extravaganza? Also have you seen the Facebook group?
  19. ^ It's wishful thinking. Nothing confirmed... yet.
