  1. The SkyCoaster appears to have opened in the middle of last week. Prices are single flyer $30, Double $25 pp and Triple $20 pp. The tower is 50 metres high (which they claim is taller than Batwing which is 61m ) and you'll reach speeds of up to 60km/h. More info can be found at the official website and Facebook. Also, to reply to S.Willie above, it does look like they've replaced that section of the slides. It looks like the colour is slightly different. Here's a direct link to the picture.
  2. Just in case it isn't just me, I thought I'd re-post the link because none of them seem to work for me. Copy the following into the address bar and then go to Environmental Assessment > Appendices > Appendix V Building and Design Drawings. http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/index.pl?action=view_job&job_id=4327 Thanks for the documents keadz and welcome to Parkz. Edit: I've just looked through those plans and they are planning a Skycoaster, double FlowRider as well as pretty much every type of WhiteWater West slide. They even seem to have something like the Wedgie/Proslide SuperLoop although it appears to be a WhiteWater one.
  3. Just found some footage of the Bushranger show in 1993. I never knew there were two variations of it. Does anyone know when they expanded it to the bigger set with all the buildings (General Store, mine, etc)?
  4. Yep it sounds that way. It seems it's running right up into the brakes as well.
  5. Here's a press release from 1999 that regards the speed of the both TOT and S:EFK. Currently claims are being made that S:EFK is reaching speeds of 104mph (168km/h) instead of 100mph (161km/h). This could provide a reason why its reaching so high.
  6. Just as long as it doesn't involve pirates having a dance off, I'm fine.
  7. Is it actually new concrete or is it the concrete that's been there since 2006 when Nightmares was installed there? Unless something's been done in the last month - it's the same concrete.
  8. $6 million Edit: http://zendorphin.net/index.php?option=com...g&Itemid=16
  9. Buccaneer Bay was installed September 2005 then the Extreme H20 Zone followed in stages split by about 3-4 months concluding with the Tornado which opened in September 2006. WhiteWater World was announced in November 2005 and opened 13 months later (December 2006). A close (and almost completely overlapping) timeline but I think the ideas for the H2O zone would have come up regardless of what WWW was doing.
  10. The straw was actually for my sister's Frozen Raspberry Fanta which I was purchasing for her. I only brought it up because Joz (or Richard or whoever did the captions) had stated that it could be "an evil money grab" and I was simply stating that it was probably an environmentally based decision.
  11. A bit more info on the Gold Coast Suns deal. I wonder if they'll offer any discounts like they do with AMF on the back of showtimes or anything like that.
  12. I think AlexB was saying that if they had a sign stating something along the lines of "Looney Tunes River Ride has been permanently closed to make way for an exciting new attraction to open late 2011" that would be better than the standard maintenance sign. It would give guests something to look forward to, and possibly be enough to encourage them upgrade to an annual pass (or VIP etc) if they didn't have one.
  13. All the pictures worked for me yesterday and all still work today.
  14. The WindSeekers that are going into the Cedar Fair parks (Canada's Wonderland, Cedar Point, Kings Island and Knott's Berry Farm) are set to cost US $5 million each. On the second-last page of the ASX presentation, under the theme parks division, they state "New rides planned for 2011 and further new product being planned". This new product (which is listed separate from the rides) was what I was thinking could be the Skywalk.
  15. Ardent bundle Sky Point in their theme park category so maybe that product might be the Sky Walk attraction they had planned. American Thunder (formerly Evel Kneivel) was US $7 million Prowler was US $8 million Apocalypse (formerly Terminator) was US $10 million Gwazi (dueling woodie) was also US $10 million Full list of GCIs
  16. I was there in January and it seemed any drinks that guests wished to purchase had to purchased with the souvenir cup/bottle. There were no disposable cups available. Also they wanted to charge me $1 for a straw because they didn't have disposable ones. I think all of this may have been an environmentally based decision for Sea World in a hope that people would keep the souvenir cups (at least throughout the day) and thus reduce wastage. Alternately it could be $$$.
  17. I don't think you understand Scott. Hibino said an "indiana jones or jurassic park style ride". This means either an Intamin Multi Motion Dark Ride or a Vekoma Water Ride (which they don't seem to make anymore, so it would have to be manufactured by someone else). As Spencer and Brad have said, he didn't say rides themed to Jurassic Park or Indiana Jones, but a ride which uses the same ride system as one of them. I can't see Movie World putting in a JP style ride because it would be too similar to what is on offer with WWF. As much as I'd like to see one, a Multi Motion Dark Ride would be a bit out of the budget.
  18. Provided NearMap is correct that picture is correct. I've just done a comparison myself and it looks pretty right. Also I think I know why the roof in Main Street is so small. By switching between July 2010 imagery and January 2011 imagery on NearMap I noticed a roof was removed from a portion of the Big Brother House. When comparing it against the new one it Main Street, it matches. That's why its small. Murrissippi River or Oakey Creek?
  19. Not when I was there. It was definitely unexpected maintenance. We saw a few maintenance guys in the back corner.
  20. Is that the whole of Sky Fortress or just the McDonalds style playground part. If it is just part of it, it might have been closed since the middle of last month. When I was there they had all of it open in the morning but in the afternoon they had closed the playground half and had maintenance workers in it. The bridges section was open with access via the old water slide ramp (although one particular style of bridge closed off completely).
  21. That's why I suggested the coaster around the lake and on that seemingly empty grassy patch.
