  1. Might I suggest the grouping of attractions by type so that things like the Vintage Cars aren't compared to Batwing in the early rounds. Also due to the constraints of the forum and a single thread, why not use an outside company to host the poll for you (like Survey Monkey).
  2. A bit of additional information from an Attractions Management article. The full article can be seen here.
  3. Not really a restaurateur but I thought I'd may as well throw this together. My new restaurant is themed to the Australian outback and would be located in the heart of the Australian Wildlife Experience at Dreamworld. It would replace the old location for the Oakey Creek Farm Show as well as the skyway station, toilets and surrounding area as indicated by the green area. The red area is the current location for the Kakadu Cafe. This cafe would be removed with the set of toilets being relocated here. The entrance of the restaurant would be themed to a large rock face fronting onto the Outback Adventure section of AWE as indicated by the blue area. The main kitchens would back onto the Bilby House be located roughly under the skyway station (which would be completely removed). The seating area would located in an L shape around Oakey Creek, the bird enclosure and crocodile pools. Large glass panels will give guests views out these three locations. These panels would be surrounded by rocks. The seating would be picnic type benches with log seating. The menu would feature a whole variety of options at all costs and sizes for all budgets and appetites. The food offered would be similar to that at the Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country including steak, fresh salads, fruits, damper, sausages, roast veggies, and pavlova in addition to all of the options currently available at the Kakadu Cafe (gourmet sandwiches etc). Beverages offered will include both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in addition to billy tea. Staff would be dressed similar to the clothes used in the Oakey Creek Farm Show.
  4. Just noticed a late change in the schedule for the Summer Funomenon. SpongeBob 3D has been pulled and replaced with The Curse of Skull Rock 3D.
  5. Very interesting move indeed. As for a Legoland in Australia the article states Legoland Discovery Centre and not Legoland. The Discovery Centres are a lot smaller than a fully fledged Legoland park. I was a little confused when I saw Sydney Aquarium and Wildlife World's holiday entertainment (Lego exhibitions) a few weeks back. It makes a bit more sense now. I wonder what they'll do with their spare $115 million - another Wet'n'Wild somewhere?
  6. ^ I'm guessing fnb is Food and Beverage.
  7. Unless you were the young girl at the upgrade booth
  8. Where's whitsy? I wonder if he's still complaining. Here's a Gold Coast Bulletin article about the jet skis. Interesting bit is Sea World could consider keeping it as a permanent show.
  9. I'm guessing Boxing Day but the latest Parkz update says: Also, what's wrong with this thread?
  10. http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=57564 Do you guys have any updates from the past month?
  11. My idea is for a movie making themed show loosely based on a variety of other shows either previously at Movie World or located at other parks around the world. Outside the sound stage, the western set will remain as is, however the outside of the building will feature a sign labelling it as Sound Stage 8 (or any other number, I just picked 8) instead of Show Stage. Nearer to the entrance a small sign will read something like "Filming today: Western Action, Batman: Shadows of Gotham" (again, other names could be chosen here). Guests would enter via the normal entrance. The tunnel to the seating would be well-lit and would have white walls and a bare concrete floor. The walls will have framed posters of recent Warner Bros. (or related) movies with permanent posters for Western and Batman themed films. The show begins by a director introducing himself/herself. They would start by introducing the audience to the sound stage and state that the audience has just walked through the permanent western backlot set to get here - however, a standard backdrop set is sometimes not enough. At this point the main set inside the show stage would be illuminated. Similar to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, this show would have layered sets. The first set would be constructed to function similar to the but would look similar to that of the Western Action Show (i.e. Western set). The set would be located between 5 and 10 metres away from the back wall. This part of the show would feature some of the elements previously in Police Academy (high falls, small explosions, gunfights etc). At the end of the scene, the production crew would talk about how busy sound stages can get and that they need to be turned over quickly. While he/she is explaining this, the western set is split into sections and wheeled out stage right (audience's left) and the second set is revealed. The second set would be a city street and would be permanatly constructed (i.e. not movable like the western set). At the centre of the set is a large screen installed within the frame of an office building. The set will also feature some darker alleyways. The audience is introduced to Gotham City and are taken back to the 2005 film, Batman Begins (where some street scenes were filmed in an airport hangar, see the bonus disc for anyone who has it). This scene will run like any Batman show - good guys vs. bad guys. Depending on the space available and accessibility of the show stage, a Batmobile/bike could be driven into the scene. Throughout this scene the audience will witness a variety of weather effects (through the use of lighting, sound and rain machines - similar to AOS) in addition to some further stunts and fights (maybe even a zip line for Batman). At the end of the show, guests exit out through the entry passage and back into the outdoor western set.
  12. ^ Both jjuttp and ads086 have put forward ideas last Monday.
  13. A FlowRider Double is a FlowRider Double - there shouldn't be any difference between the two. They both should be 9.8m x 15m. A FlowRider Single measures 6.7m x 15m so WNW's definitely isn't one of them - it must be a double like Dreamworld's.
  14. ^ I agree the roof does look bad in the day, but it really sets a good scene for the night events. GoGoBoy, I don't think you'll want to look at Dreamworld's Main Street at the moment.
  15. I've already provided a rough floor plan above. As for interior photos, the best I can find are here. I'm sure someone said a few years ago that the Maverick set was falling apart and would need to be completely replaced. Movie World had built a stage for their Looney Tunes shows over the top of the flat area, away from the set. As for capacity I guess somewhere between 1000 and 2000.
  16. This video has footage from around and inside the Engineering Centre.
  17. It sounds like you have it the wrong way round. Here's a rough diagram of the show stage. Orange is seating, blue is the entrance pathway, and green is an occasionally used exit pathway/emergency exit. The rest of the building is the set and backstage area.
  18. I'd assume the "Show Stage" is the old Maverick / Western Action Show stage. Most recently it has been used for Freddy's Nightmare Maze during Fright Nights and a variety of Looney Tunes shows before that. http://www.nearmap.com/?ll=-27.908518,153....mp;nmd=20100720
  19. ^^ I appreciate them too, keep up the good work.
  20. ^^ The increased queue time for TOT2 is a sign of one seat less on the car. I think you might be right about Bermuda Gazza. They could spend a bit of money on getting the audio on the boats working again and as Spotty said replace the lifts and then I think the system would be good for a re-theme.
