  1. Nickelodeon & Nick Jr. are coming to Sea World & Sea World Resort this Christmas! Village Roadshow Theme Parks and Nickelodeon have joined forces in an exciting new partnership that will bring the world’s first-ever SpongeBob SquarePants parade to Sea World on the Gold Coast this summer. A large-scale attraction for fans of all ages, the parade will be developed exclusively for Sea World by the creative team behind SpongeBob SquarePants and will feature key characters from the hugely popular SpongeBob SquarePants series. There will also be a live stage show of Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer that will feature character appearances to entertain pre-school aged kids at Sea World. Nickelodeon and Nick Jr will also be integrated into the Sea World Resort water park and kids’ club. Additionally, a range of SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer consumer products will be available as part of the Nickelodeon integration, including some items offered exclusively at Sea World. Further details of the SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer attractions and Sea World Resort attractions will be revealed in the coming months, with launch planned for late 2011 during the peak summer holiday period. http://seaworld.myfun.com.au/Visitor-Information/News/NICKELODEON%20COMES%20TO%20SEAWORLD.aspx
  2. All depends on the positioning of the coaster, For all we know it could have been a operator generated Estop. Which could have caused one of the trains to stop half way out of one of the brake trims who knows, it is very common for coasters to over and under park, this can also be the cause of a lot of minor system estops it may only be small but enough for the system to say hey something is wrong. Not every centimetre of that track is lined with a sensor, let alone a sensor to detect a item on the track, Correct me if im wrong but iv never heard of any sort of sensor system on track that detects if anything is on it, well on a coaster of that type at least. Our Gold Coast fire stations are trained and undergo regular briefings for Evacs on many of our parks attractions including some of our coasters. The one thing that always has to be taken into account is the fact that anything is possible, the day you turn around and say "oh that wont ever happen" chances are it probably will. As for California Screaming, you may take anything on with you, all smaller loose items can go in a black pouch in front of you, and as for bags each time i go over i usually just loop the shoulder straps around my legs so i don't have to worry about holding onto it.
  3. Sea World Also has a Gold VIP Pass entry lane
  4. Thats what im curious about, Tjay please do spill enlighten us all, im intrigued.......
  5. I also have to say i quite enjoyed the experience created by shockwave. My first time on a Disko and i really enjoyed it. One thing though the area is very poorly done. Still Temp construction fencing keeping people out of the ride envelope. The que rail system is also rather poor when it comes to large crowds. Small pebbles in the garden around the que rails, they seem to be a great hit for the teenagers, chucking them at the ride in motion seems to make the wait go a little faster for them. They have 5 little boxes you could purchase at a discount store, cable tired to the fence. 5 small boxes half the size of a shoe box for 24 riders to put there belongings in. Which genius come up with that idea. So they kinda got half way through the fencing on the right hand side of the load station and by the looks of it went mehhh, and decided to tie a metal bar to the end of the half finished fencing, then used a tree branch down the other end as the other support. Its a half finished Product, but i mean what could you expect. They should have at least waited until Sept. Im interested to see how the area is in a month. One other thing that really ticks me off about dreamworld is there really tacky laminated A4 paper signs to tell guests information. It looks very unprofessional, Invest in a sign writing Dept and get decent signs, or at least take a page out of VRTP book and go crazy with Aframe signs it will look just a little better.
  6. There sept attraction has gone vertical
  7. Also like DJrappa tried to mention earlier the use of the word "Attractions" or "Attraction" doesn't necessarily mean its going to be a ride. A attraction can be: Ride Enclosure Exhibit Show Pay per play Attraction Interactive Experience Eg a fountain area (Looney Tunes Splash Zone) It could be ANYTHING looks like we shall all have to wait until July and August.
  8. Reanimated35 now that sounds LEGIT!!!! Bloody Nickelodeon they have no control.
  9. I can assure you Nike is GONEEEE, but for those of you who love Nickelodeon im sure it will be back some day in some shape or form. Maybe as a Sponge!!!
  10. What DJrappa is getting at is the fact they are from a outsider site, that is in no relation to Parkz.
  11. Dreamworld has lost there contract with Nickelodeon and it should be all down and dusted by Sept. But in saying that there is a possibility of a new contract with another company that is still unsure. It all seems to have a quite exciting twist Mwahahaha.
  12. What i find funny is you all jump to the quickest possible conclusion. There is still plenty of time for VRTP to create the hype needed for what ever plans they have. Just because dreamworld have started a little earlier means nothing. Might i add they really havn't made much of a hype about what they are doing anyway. In my opinion i really don't think that Dreamworlds marketing group are the smartest or most professional bunch around. They allow a medico theme park enthusiast site, Thrillz.com to release there statement about "shockwave" before they did. Oh and didn't that get the tabloids turning!!!! Sarcasm intended! Not to mention nothing has even been really said about septembers attraction. What we need to do is take a step back. Look at it from the publics prospective. What has been said about this years up and coming attractions? One thing Shockwave, which has only really been released on there site. Everything else that we speculate and talk about is spoken here. Its not heard by the general publics ears. Id also like to add that i really doubt Bermuda triangle and LTRR are going to be huge impacts on attendance. Little fact for you, One of our Gold Coast parks see's 2% of there total attendance each day as full paying customers. The rest, well most of the rest are the cheap pass holders, Who in fact probably couldn't care at this point in time about those attractions being closed as a impacting decision on going. As there here to use the product they purchased. So now we could turn this whole thing around and look at it from the view you guys above are coming from. Eureka mine ride, used to be one of the Big thrill rides. Can we prove that because of its closure have we seen a decline in there parks attendance??? Has park attendance been down and going down since the date of its closure because you know it was a major attraction and i think that leaving a major ride shut for reasons unknown will damage their attendance. The point to my rather large rant is WAIT! Lets just see what VRTP have to offer this summer. Lets see what fantastic night time events WBMW have on this year. Lets see what future plans get unveiled for the companies properties before we go saying that the tables have turned. Because i have faith they will stay exactly the way they are now. One thing i tell you im waiting on that dreamworld hasn't delivered, expansion to WWW. But we shall leave that one for another time
  13. From Thrillz Facebook page "Thanks to Randy Waerea our newest team member here on thrillz we have some info about things maybe happening to beloved rides at Warner Bros. Movie World. Batman the Adventure Ride may be closing to make way for a new improved ride/attraction. And Lethal Weapon may be getting a major refurb! News as it comes...First Here on Thrillz" Care to fill us in on this Randy, what juicy gossip you have???
  14. To be truthfully honest and i don't want this to sound cocky at all but we all know it doesn't matter who the source is, Well it does to a certain extent but it comes down to the people your source knows. My source is the people. Either way in due time we will find out if what iv said is a load of bull shit, but for now why not use this to fuel our imaginations as to what the possibilities are and what Dreamworld has in store for us in the coming future.
  15. Iv also heard talks of a kiddie coaster, But as far as im aware there june attraction will be located behind claw and Thornberries also utilising the chalk zone area to the back of nick central. As for Sept major attraction, Location will be behind the old chair lift station located to the left of rapids loading and will also branch into the car park were the bus bays and helipad area is. If Im correct fencing for those areas should start this week if they already haven't. As for the attraction itself iv heard a Coaster being the go! Im not gonna say type just incase Im wrong, but i wasn't overly impressed when i heard the type, Im just hoping that themeing will make up for that.
  16. Request Bugs ears and you shall get! For those of you who may not have been in the parks as of late, well Movie World. Bugs Ears have hit the shelves along with may other novelty items. Its quite surprising when you look around the amount of people wearing them for fun while in the park. Its also good to see the interaction the characters do come up with when they come across someone with bugs ears on.
  17. Wow its a wonder no one at village has come up with that yet!!!
  18. Is it just me? But based on the picture of the Aqua Loop from the recent Feb update it looks as if the glass window section at the top of the drop section to the Aqua Loop has been removed?? Or is it the angle the photo has been taken?
  19. OMG, No that footage of the Maverick show put a smile from ear to ear. The production quality is simply amazing. Same as Police Academy. It will never be the same.
  20. Wow just having watch the Movie Magic Special Effects Show and the Gremlins Adventure videos, I can't help but think thats was the Warner Bros. Movie World i feel in love with. The amazing attention to detail of the Gremlins Adventure, the vast lengths that have been taken it all looks incredible. I really do wonder does the remaining Theatre still look like it did back in the hay day?
  21. Rappa is right, Id like to add the fact that "a similar organisation, with a much smaller budget, and likely a slightly lower socio-economical demographic" SHOULD in my opinion have a much large focus on there customers, it is the base to there business. The strongest form of advertisement is word of mouth. A customer that receives a bad experience is TEN times more likely to pass it onto friends and family then someone who received excellent service. Great example, on these forums we are more likely to talk about a bad experience, then to say bring up a good experience because know one cares, its what is accepted. Companies like Village and i know for a fact strive on the fact that you must EXCEED THE CUSTOMERS EXPECTATIONS "Bend over backwards" There was 2 stages in which the stuff up could have been fixed by the park. One when the tickets were issued. A simple call back of tickets which village does always. "So thats 2 Adults tickets there and 3 Children's, Enjoy your day guys!" The family would have straight away picked up the fault then and there. The second at the turnstile, that staff member should have questions why 6 tickets when there is only 5 people??? Yes "Guests share some of the blame" But once the issue has been brought to the attention of the park, Guest services is there to fix and address the issue and THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST! Yes the company could be taken advantage of but its the price paid to hold and maintain i higher level of customer service and satisfaction. Id also like to question this statement So, what you're saying is that there is the potential for Village cast members to make these mistakes. I have witnessed gate attendants receive the bundle of tickets, tear off a section, let the family through, and then once the family has gone, scan the stubs through the machine. -Each ticket needs to be individually scanned to allow a one person turnstile spin. You can't fit a whole family or group in one turnstile spin if so i would love to see how!
  22. so a good friend of mine Steve that works for the Walt Disney Company emailed me this link today: Now that would be a new years i would love to be apart of.
  23. Thats very true i think one thing Dreamworld do that is great is the fact the number of staff they have on hand to help guests and staffing was no issue at all. Plus themeparkgc is correct in the fact all the shows, well most from my understanding are held on the mainstreet temp stage. Which is located in front of those upcharge pond boats near nick central entrance and that complete area is now covered. Im just a little disappointed for something that is suppose to be part of there 30 year it aint looking to promising!
  24. Delay multiple Shows you mean. Also just to back up what I said I spoke to someone who went yesterday and asked them to check for me and it was the same deal.
  25. sorry the jukebox show and a few others were the shows that weren't on also matt hollywood was crossed off on my times guide so i asked a staff member and they said "Im not sure what is happening as far as i know its on but all times guides have is crossed out and the park closes at 5pm when the show is advertised for a 5:15 showing" Really Dreamworld Really?? One of the busiest days. themeparkgc is exactly right 10 shows FROM BOXING DAY NOT DEC 30 or when ever you decide to start them, if your going to start them.
