  1. At the height of my obsession with the park I went 13 days out of 14 and spend each day only doing one ride or experience over and over... By far my favourite was the Movie Magic tour even though it was a fair bit dated by that time. Sadly the additions the parks now no longer have the appeal to do something as... weird or compulsive... they experience is removed in place of the thrills... Hope this addition is completely immersive for the target audience and I agree with Brad... Surely little kids would prefer to drive around a looney tune (or god forbid I suggest it, DC) themed track
  2. But wasn't that part of the charm and immersion in the experience... I would much rather that then someone just walking me through and onto the river ride.
  3. I will be there next Thursday so unless someone else heads down before then I will try and get a few.
  4. Obviously they are not used to having one of our parks make the list... WET ‘N’ WILD GOLD COAST, Austrailia,
  5. With the roof over main street it can feel like it is inside a large studio so that part is fine...
  6. I'm with you here liz... My problem is going to be my 2yo son is car crazy and will want to do this but most likely wont be able to since parents obviously can't accompany them... I think it is as mentioned above, a larger version of Speedy Taxis...
  7. Despite the direction the conversation is coasting towards nice to see it is still on track and not rollering up and down like a lift all over the place. Hope I didn't doo anything to spook anyone or brake the momentum of the thread...
  8. The 3 for 3 pass is ideal for tourists who want to attend the three parks while up/down on the Gold Coast. The VIP pass I thought was only for QLD residents... 1 day entry = Asian tourists?
  9. Watched River Rapids fill and empty on Wednesday but sadly no way to film it on the day...
  10. Wonder if DW were counting on this donation to be able to redirect funds for the new additions to the park and that is why Wipeout has been delayed and we are yet to see any work start elsewhere... /sarcasm
  11. The trike was in the log ride above the ride in the first flat tunnel. It is now where the elephants used to be at the rapids. Also... The mushrooms on log ride are gone!!! I had thought that was what it showed all along... Only was able to confirm that yesterday... You are right it is not about age... But that is the problem with common sense...
  12. For so many years they had the black security 4x4 driving laps around the carpark all day. Looks like they may have been cost cutting in the wrong areas. In saying that, they certainly aren't legally liable for damage to guests property when parked in what is really a public carpark so why would they pay for someone to monitor it?
  13. At less than 7 years older than you I don't think age is the problem. Hell my younger brother is 3 years younger than you and can make that connection. Regardless of that though neither explains why there is a dinosaur when you get outside...
  14. Sure Wyn has posted something correcting details that other have put incorrectly... Wyn must be wrong... Explain why, they are escaping in the second scene... Why are there wanted posters in the queue line... Have a look at old vaults which show sectioned areas using metal cages or bars... They used the explosives to gain access to the gold store so they can rob it... The gold may not have been stored near the bars and at the back of the gold store instead so it could not be reached without gaining access...
  15. Finally facing the right direction on this ride to see it properly... In the back of the first scene it says "This way to gold storage"... In the next scene above the door it says "Gold store"... It is not a jail as people so frequently say... There is no reference to a jail anywhere on the ride... The wanted posters hint that they have already escaped so why would there be a scene showing them escaping???
  16. Was there today. Still no real visible progress on Wipeout other than angle grinding on the arms. Reef diver still has not been touched. Buzzsaw is currently down for maintenance yet nothing done on it today either.
  17. WWF was open the very first year they did the Fright Night. I dare say it is either more the noise for neighbours or it being out there on its owncreates supervision issues in the dark western area walking out there.
  18. That car and caravan is frequently at the parkz... Have seen it at all of them over the last several months... Most recently saw it at MW 2 weeks ago and SW the weekend before that and it does only take up 2 spaces anywhere else...
  19. Whilst I agree with this, I can sort of understand why they don't... Let us look at the things that the media report based on untrue or incomplete information... That could lead to a bigger PR issue than it is worth.
  20. Just look for the small red leds that are around the end of each camera. We frequently, with younger relatives, point them out and they wave at each one.
  21. TBH - BT>Storm (but I have never been big on coasters)... I love the Dreamworks area however, only because I have a 2yo who is Kung Fu Panda crazy so I think it is his enjoyment that makes it... Never big on Dreamworld for several years prior to a few months ago.
  22. I have to agree JL>Batman... While I think that Batman Adventure had a more immersive experience with the secret doorway, batcave, loading station, I come off JL having enjoyed it a lot more...
  23. Was there yesterday and they had the fire doors open. Quite a few people walking around inside in high vis clothing and hard hats so here is hoping something is beginning.
  24. So I must have imagined the multiple times I saw the fire brigade attend through the gate near Intencity... I must have also imagined the conversations I had with Supervisors about the reason they were in attendance... Oh and I also must have imagined seeing the pipe lines and information about the ring of fire in the mouth before the last little drop which had to be quickly replaced with the laser instead...
  25. I thought with Scooby it was a ring of fire but that there were issues with it setting off the fire system in the building... This I learnt from the many times the fire brigade had to attend... The gas line around the mouth was also very visible for the first few months at least...
