In in case no one has posted the article: http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/new-casino-centrepiece-of-3-billion-development/news-story/c4b85077b411773ec098c73d4bdd7bf2 Can someone explain what they think is going on here? Is Sea World getting the money to expand from Packer? Are they selling off part of their land or car park for the new casino or the Chinese consortium and going with a multi-storey car park? Will the new waterpark be across the road or on the other side of the resort? VRTP would have to find a lot of cash all of a sudden to make SW the biggest park in Australia. I hope they have at least one dark ride.

^With the logo his hand is blocking? At least they left out a map of the new car park. -

Windseekers also retail for around $5 million US, I guess that makes them too expensive if you count theming, right @Mark Shaw? I just presume you have the bargaining power like you did on Abyss - that was an amazing price for that ride! -
Congrats, TD. Sounds like it might be a fun evening if it's not freezing cold.

Tim find the quotes, otherwise you'll just confuse yourself. I heard that Gerstlauer family coasters start around $5 million. Can't find any info on costs of flume rides, although you'd presume they'd be cheaper. -

I don't get the point about arguing whether they should get a wooden or steel coaster based on a bush fire. What about the rest of the park? A steel coaster is more than steel beams. -

Because a steel coaster wouldn't be damaged by a bushfire?! ? -
That top one looks a little like the ones they had at Perth Zoo.

Yeah, sometimes I will go by myself. That suits certain rides and not others. Never tried going on the Kraken by myself, but Abyss it's not a problem at all. That's the benefit of having the 8 friends discount with the season pass. -
Made a quick visit to The Maze/Outback Splash, today, before my pass runs out in a month's time. Very quiet day in what has been re-branded a family fun park. It seems like they're preparing the ground for their long overdue kids' water playground. Rumour has it that they'll be getting a large inflatable slide this year, although I could see some dug up turf further north, where the new slide tower will be. The plans were also out on the side street for the local council. It was super quiet and snoozy. The birds and Koalas were nice to visit, though.

Gotta be there, Tim. It's certainly worth it as you only need to go three times to get your money back. I live north of the river, but work south, so I might have to visit after work sometime. -

^ And play 'Grease' the movie, because of 'summer nights', you know? I hope it's the camping idea coming to fruition or at least extended/exclusive ride time for season pass members. -

Wasn't counting the kiddie coasters, @AlexB. I hope PRS gets a decent replacement. We've always had the Wild Mouse or Python Loop in the past.

This article? https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/32355813/perth-royal-show-loses-3-million-as-visitor-numbers-dive/ Just imagine the eloquent reactions to that. I've actually changed the censorship settings on my Facebook page.

That really sucks for us in Perth, as the dates for the Melbourne Show overlap with Perth's. Way more than Bounty's Revenge, I'm going to miss PL. Sure, it's a little rough, but it was one of two rollercoasters we have in Perth. The Pinfari looping coaster was used as the basis for the Indiana Jones coaster at Disney parks. According to that site, it's one of six rollercoasters at the Melbourne Show. I sure hope the PRS has some pleasant surprises for us because this news is bad. Am I reading this incorrectly, @Tim Dasco? Melbourne Show - 17-27 September. Perth Show - 24 Sept - 1 October.

Fair enough, thanks Mark. It would have been cool to incorporate Bounty's into a viewing deck for the Kraken, but it's nice that it's still on site. That's exciting news about the new attraction. Can't wait. -

^In the clutches of the Kraken, no doubt. I'm glad they finally announced it properly, so those people who can't navigate the internet now know the truth. So, I wonder if the Perth Royal Show has anything they'd like to say.. -
Not good news. I can't find a list either. There's a fencing tournament on there next weekend - might have to go.
-
Yeah, I just messaged Chants, so we'll soon find out. It would be nice if they kept it at PRS for at least this year,
-
I so don't want to post on Facebook that the Python Loop is going. It'll break the internet! Will wait for further confirmation.

Thanks TD. It's not like I make up rumours about Disneyland Australia, right @ash.1111? Happy April 1st!
