I thought the safety mechanism on GL did fail. At least The Smiler was still on the tracks.

It's very popular amongst my friends. I was expecting much worse after reading the comments here. -
I think these coasters really push the limits of design. However, no one has died in theses incidents and it's still safer than crossing the road.

The Smiler has had two carriages crash - how is that even possible? http://news.sky.com/story/1494944/carriages-crash-on-alton-towers-smiler-ride

Almost as scary as H.R. Pufnstuf. Sid and Marty Krofft and 70s kids' TV shows have a lot to answer for.

Loving the look of the proposed plans for the new entrance way for Outback Splash - it's going to lift the park to a whole new level. I'm a little concerned about Pine Road - I hope that never comes to fruition. http://www.bullsbrook.org.au/uploads/1/1/3/3/11339633/da849-14_plans.pdf

Battlestar Galactica coaster closure/retheme

BSG is now open again. It looks pretty lonely with only two people per row. Apparently wait times were around 40-50 minutes today (which was just about unheard of in the old days). Looking forward to riding again in the future. -

Tim would like that... I'd like to see a Monsters Rock show like the one they used to have with Beetlejuice at USH. -

New HSD2 show at Movieworld this week

City vs Country sounds a lot like Outback Spectacular or any other show VRTP does these days. -
Went to Outback Splash this morning. The place is looking very pretty, with its autumnal colours. Their Hedge Maze should be ready for the July school holidays, but their expansion of the water park will probably be put on hold until they can open a new, bigger gate. When they do expand their water park, they'll be doing a number of sections at once, including the Cobra slide and a children's water play area with a Kids' Tornado. It seems like there's a real demand for a junior water playground after that kid got hurt and the fact that there's really no where else for them to cool off on the property. 'The Cube' is also slated to be coming soon, but there's no ground works and the lady I talked to didn't seem to have much of an idea what it's about. It seems to resemble some kind of maze of mirrors, a bit like Infinity on the Gold Coast. Had trouble loading up pictures. Photos on my blog.. http://parks115.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/making-outback-splash-at-maze.html

No Freefall in sight. Nice sunset, though. Couldn't help but notice that Adventure World's Throwback Thursday referred to the slide as costing $7 million. -

Yeah, it was down to its stub last week. Hopefully, they're working on it and not dismantling it. -

Have two attractions, like a Mad Max World or one as a pre-show for the other? I'd like to see them do something with the Old Maverick stage area. I think Universal did a pretty good show with Conan The Barbarian that involved lasers, lights and big muscular men. Perhaps they could do the Mad Max travelling scenes with rear projection? -
^Sounds like it. It's still early days. If you look at what happened to Battlestar Galactica it could be another five years before the ride properly reopens. USS is going with 'wings' on their BSG trains to make up for the width of the station.

Or seek out a group of enthusiasts online and get their opinions on the matter..

Some excellent footage of the old Atlantis shows has been posted on YouTube. It was probably shot on a VHS camera and it is quite well preserved compared to other footage I've seen. You can't miss the Buck Rogers uniforms, the tight fitting pants and the overt sexist humour of the early eighties.. oh, and some hard working dolphins, seals and sea lions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7JlOSXAU3g&feature=youtu.be Here are photos I took yesterday of the real estate development. The fencing has improved around the lot, but there are still plenty of gaps for people who know no boundaries.

Yeah.. imagine the meet and greet characters. -
Maybe that's all they could afford when they charge people $75 for a season pass..

MW needs a Mad Max Fury Road simulator. A ride vehicle, like the Delorean cars that you could sit in for the old Back to the Future attraction, would be awesome.
