  1. Not all of the Ettamogah pubs have the same level of theming. The one in Cunderdin is pretty much just a normal pub inside. There used to be one in Morley too.
  2. Having a world record is great - having one that is practical is even better. I think it's a bit like when you build a roller coaster that is too tall in RCT3. At least a waterslide is affordable. Verruckt - here we come.
  3. Apparently there are plans to make a 300m temporary waterslide going down one of the main streets in Perth. Enjoy! http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/plans-for-perth-street-to-be-transformed-into-300m-water-slide-this-summer/story-fnhocxo3-1227109438357 http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/giant-street-water-slide-gets-funding-support-from-city-of-perth-committee/story-fnhocxo3-1227113852816?nk=d79873604246ffd64635a7297b664a1b
  4. I would have said 100% no way, until I read Mark's message. When he said the deal was 99% done, I didn't realise that the 1% was the signing, so in theory it could be any manufacturer who was at IAAPA over the past week - which includes Gerstlauer, Zamperla and Whitewater. From what Mark has said we pretty much know it won't be a rollercoaster or anything costing as much as $20 million. From the way he worded his reply about Gerstlauer it seems unlikely that MI2 will be from there. Unless MI1, MI2 and MI3 or MI4 are all from the same company. So, I guess we're going to have to keep speculating for the time being.
  5. From Adventure World's Facebook Page.. Crazy promotion for Dinosaur Island, which is not far away now. They're also confirming that their attraction for 2015 will be record breaking. https://www.facebook.com/AdventureWorldOfficialPage?fref=ts
  6. Looks like they have a model of JL at the Iaapa Expo. http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=189&linkid=14456&pageno=8
  7. JL is a pretty cool ride, although I thought the finale could have been more substantial. I rode it recently and didn't really notice all of the problems it supposedly has. MW certainly needs more rides like JL. I still think that Joker animatronic looks great. I definitely think JL deserves its place on TPI's top ten shooter list: http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201411/4296/
  8. My top 5 would be: 1.Movie World - for its theming, roller coasters and character meet and greets. 2.Sea World - great family park, plenty of shows to see and rides to do. 3.Dreamworld - awesome selection of attractions to go on and the Tiger show to watch. 4.Adventure World - The Abyss, Freefall and lots of water slides. 5.Luna Park Melbourne - Great Scenic Railway. More news on the Iaapa Trade show from TPR: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=189&linkid=14456 The Joker animatronic looks great - hopefully they'll update our JL at some stage.
  9. Xiao Bao from Luke and the Temple of Fun has apparently seen the new ride vehicles for the Puss N Boots coaster - no photos yet - just this: http://lukeandthetempleoffun.blogspot.sg/2013/08/new-family-attraction-in-uss.html There's also some descriptions of USS' preparations for their Christmas/holiday celebrations, which begin on Dec 1.
  10. Goodluck to anyone having dinner with Gerstlauer tonight - I hope you buy something great.
  11. Looks like the Theme Park Social Network has a few answers. Any thoughts? https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Theme-Park-Social-Network/132673766814240
  12. That sounds like a pretty good order, Jobe. I think the problem is that the original article doesn't really give any reasons why they ordered it that way. Was it based on service or matching expectations? That certainly seems to be the reason why they put Sea World so far down their least.
  13. Does anyone know what is happening on the reclaimed land? http://thethemeparkplace.com/news/park-update-sea-world-131114/
  14. Don't worry XxMr YoshixX It's not like you don't know that Adventure World has water slides.. Or a new logo.. Or who the CEO is.. In other news: an article on the Australasian Leisure Management website has appeared overnight - it mentions the Training Initiative Award. http://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/adventure-world-ready-for-a-summer-of-thrills-and-spills/
  15. The Abyss ride op shirts are cool too, a step up from the souvenir one. Congrats on raising the bar in the food stakes. That Ultimate Wagyu burger is the tastiest.
  16. Nice. 'Adventure World, Perth Australia' are also the words you have to google in order to get the right park/company.
  17. Thanks for reading, Tim. Hope your hand is healing up. Was booking a cabana for the holiday period. I hadn't noticed this overhead shot before. It's good that they've got them labelled. They were very busy on the weekend. http://adventureworld.net.au/#/news-events/cabanas-at-kahuna-falls/
  18. ^Yeah, I read a trip report on TPR one time, where they visited a park where they didn't allow adults without children.
  19. More Sentosa news, rather than BSG. TPR Azza 29 posted a recent trip report to Halloween Nights at USS. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1514309#p1514309 Second Drop Discusses a lot of the changes that have been taking place on Sentosa, including the ride at Madame Tussauds, which doesn't sound too reliable, as well as a bird and animal encounter at Palawan Beach. http://seconddrop.blogspot.com.au/ And IAAPA's Funworld looks behind the scenes of the new 'Wings of Time' show at Siloso Beach. http://www.iaapa.org/news/funworld/funworld-magazine/entertainment---november-2014
  20. Yeah, thanks Tim, I'd never seen that before. Maybe, I always go during cooler weather or something. I took these pictures just after arriving, when it wasn't as crowded as later on. Obviously, if you're visiting the park, buy your tickets online. That car park entry line was very quick. Like I said, the Abyss queue was shorter than the lines for most of the water slides and the Grand Prix race way. People were getting off and then back on Freefall as well. It's great that they've got the 'dropping' back. The ride operators seemed to be having fun with the timing of the shots and drops. When they stopped the chairlift for the film crew to take shots from, people were still talking about the Sky lift's break down from earlier in the year. The area between the Shotgun and the Grand Prix raceway seems to be getting ready for something - I hope it's not just dinosaurs.
  21. Went to AW today and saw them filming. It was 37 degrees here, so the crowd really built up. Despite this it was a 1 minute wait for Abyss around midday. Freefall is back up and running. It's doing 3 shots and then 1 drop. The new food is really good, especially the wagyu burger. They also had freshly made juices. The staff were really helpful, even to the extent of offering us a drink of water as we entered the park. Now that's service. Pictures to follow..
  22. BSG Cylon is back up and testing, but with only two seats a row (meaning it will have half the capacity). Artwork for the new Puss N Boots coaster has been released - all of the coverage is on Dejiki: http://dejiki.com/2014/11/uss-update-2014nov/
  23. Good work, Slick. I should have known that it would be one of yours.
  24. Welcome Adam. I think a flume ride would be a big winner. Tim I forgot to mention they have obviously spent some TLC looking after the chairlift. They've replaced all of the wooden slats in the seats and have repainted the floor of the stations. Reanimated Tim means the logo that was released accidentally today. It looks good. Very colourful, with the sun/orange in the centre. They're really emphasising the AW, with the 'W' representing the water side of the park. Mark Is there Rampage merchandise? A shirt with the beast on it would be very cool. And the advertisement in question.. The kids in front seem to be having a ball.. and then there's Karl Stefanovic Jnr. in the back row.
