  1. It was less busy on Monday, which was a holiday. Went whale watching in the morning and ended up at SW in the afternoon. The queue for Storm coaster was a little longer today, about half an hour.
  2. Spongebob broke down yesterday. They did a character meet and greet instead.
  3. Dreamworld tomorrow. Hope the video's going well TD. Are you off to any areas that have parks? Stupid little wooden fence. That little dog leg under the old bridge to get to Jet Rescue is ridiculous. The grass and rocks on the otherside of the fence look to be growing well.
  4. Come on, jet packs are just around the corner! Did they end up buying a second one of these?
  5. Thought this was pretty amazing - it looks like the future is finally here.
  6. How annoying is this?! Trying to work out how to get to Jet Ski Rescue and Storm Coaster was more painful than it needed to be. Saw plenty of people stuck in this area today.
  7. Here's a different POV of the sign I took today.
  8. More details from yesterday as I was battling dodgy hotel internet and a dying netbook battery. On the Great Scenic Railway, the 'brakes people' were really putting their back into their job - it looks quite physical. It's all a great performance, along with its other ride ops. As the railway makes its second trip around the park there are tunnels and little bunny hops it goes over, including the obligatory photograph opportunity. The red train was added later on in the day. They didn't seem to be using the first seat of the second car of this train. The seats appeared to be more comfortable on this train. The food vendors were overwhelmed. One of the photographs below is of the queue for the snow cones. The fairy floss vendor had two queues - one to pay and one to collect. There didn't appear to be much choice with regards to healthy choice options at the food outlets and next to no water fountains. It will be good when they have that new food hall finished. The stilt lady was applying sunscreen, free of charge. They even had greeters meeting the queue outside the park, handing out maps and advising people about buying their tickets online, in order to speed up their entry. It was a big day and a lot of fun, despite the crowds.
  9. The ghost train's exterior looks temporary or incomplete. The trains are lliterally steam trains, which is cool. Thanks Tim, will do.
  10. Missed riding it - tried twice. Had to head off. I'm on the gold coast now - seaworld tomorrow.
  11. Had a great day today, despite the fact the park was crammed to capacity. It was dazzling weather and everybody was enjoying the sunshine. Loved the Scenic Railway and the attitude that the ride operators had. Elsewhere, there were plenty of queues for food, drink, the flat rides and the ghost train, which seemed to really struggle. Some of the most fun was had people watching. A unique little park. Enjoy..
  12. Yeah, it was busy, busy. That's the problem when you're visiting a park with family and friends. We missed it out earlier in the day. Tried later on only to discover that it had broken down. Then got in the queue at the end, only to wait twenty minutes to not even come close to getting in the official wait area. I overheard that it was down to two trains and people were cutting in left, right and centre. On the flip side it was great to see the park jam packed. The ride ops for the travelling rides were pretty slow, but I love the attitude that they have as a whole. There's a bit of spunk about them. The way that the brakes people operate the railway. It was very cool. And the railway, itself, what fun. It bounces along at a great pace and there's quite a bit to the ride. For me, this has to be the greatest rollercoaster in Australia.
  13. Ghost train is down to two trains. Wait time is about an hour. I'm giving it a miss.
  14. Very busy day at the park, today. Love the scenic railway. I'm in the queue to ride again. They are running two trains now.
  15. What are we 'The Schmitties'? To quote XXMr YoshiXX - let's get back on topic. The Pinfari coasters are getting a little long in the tooth, but if they got a later model it would probably still have a good 10 years in it. I think the Gerstlauer Family Coasters could be a good match for the park- even if they only have room for a shuttle one. The Black Widow at Adventure World is an example of a permanent Powersurge. It's very much a spin and spew, but seems to make a bunch of people happy. The Maze Runner is the maze that they are running. I saw the film the other day - it was okay - but could make for an interesting design of attraction. It would be interesting to see if they attempted to recreate those creatures that attack them. If you had said 'mini claw' that would have made a lot more sense. I think we're looking at attractions that already exist in someone's catalogue nowadays. Gone are the days that Australian parks invented their own rides, unfortunately. I think the fun in these suggestions is when they're proven right. Like when you suggest a park gets a Gerstlauer and it does. Or when Gazza says 'Go Hawks' and they win the grand final!
  16. Looking forward to it, Tim. Hope you had good weather yesterday. Did you manage to go on all those rides?
  17. Pinfari looping coaster. A flume ride, like Splash Down. A full size 'tea cups' flat ride. Has anyone done the Maze Runner attraction?
  18. 1.Roller Coaster 2.Dark Ride 3.Flume Ride 4.Shot and Drop Tower (as long as it works) 5.Family Flat Ride
  19. Cool, no pressure. Spent the day at Melbourne Zoo. It was free entry for those of us with a Perth Zoo pass, which meant we didn't have to wait in line for twenty minutes - nice.
  20. Tomorrow Jobe. Any idea if the ghost train is back up and running?
  21. Wait I'm agreeing with reanimated? I think we're trying to say is that there's no need to be rude to the ride ops. The Abyss guys at AW are great.
  22. So what did you guys agree upon that would never happen yet be awesome if it did?
  23. Not all of us got across to Sea World when it was there. I wonder where it has been in the interim.
