Buzz Saw Harness Does Exactly What It's Supposed to Do
raymond265 replied to themeparkdude's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It's not newsworthy. It's a maintenance issue and the workers did what they are meant to do. Any fitter, mechanic or electrician would understand that stuff happens and there are systems in place for failures. -
people might miss the sight of it but how many people actually ride it now?
-
I can't see many people missing reef diver. it was only good as a filler because you never had to line up. you could sit at the tables and walk over when they were loading the ride and walk on. I'm surprised the ride has lasted as long as it has.

at dreamworld now taking photo requests
raymond265 replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
does it really matter if Dreamworld is a theme park or an amusement park? I can picture reanimated and Co walking around Dreamworld feeling smug because they are the only ones that know that dw really is an amusement park. -
Sea World Wild: What Could It Be?
raymond265 replied to the12thworld's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'd they ever got rid of wwf they would just replace it with another roller coaster -
talk to young families and see what they think of. Dreamworld. Alot of them love it because it has a wide range of things to do. talk to a teenager and they all say DW sucks. I honestly believe its a cop out and an excuse so they don't have to build $20 million roller coasters but it brings the families through the gates
-
alot of people don't like Dreamworld because they changed to focus on families rather then thrills. a more cynical person i.e me, would say they went this way because its the cheapest way to go. back in the late 90's and early 2000's Dreamworld was considered to be the better park because it had the best thrill rides and also good family rides. movie world really wasn't much competition back then. look at it now and mw is considered by most to be the better park because they put good re rideable rides in. DW need at least 2 quality rides to get people interested again. In regards to staffing of rides at DW unfortunately there isn't much they can do. They would have a massive base cost just to open the park due to the physical size of the park, MW wouldn't have this issue due to it being better designed.

the hats aren't a unique thing. go to the gold coast markets 3 nights a week and you can get one.
-
well at least they are getting rid of it rather then letting it rot. I think we will see something happening on the island soon.
-
I know because my fiance works there and workers do get feedback on what's going on. if a bad trip report was posted on here with specific problems raised the workers responsible would know within a day or 2.
-
Dreamworld reads this forum alot as well as tripadvisor.com.au. they will fix easy problem straight away if its something like a worker being rude or something not being clean. if its complaints like the park is old and run down and the need new rides they ignore it.
-
the roller coaster part might be off who knows but so far what I have been told is right. obviously I'm not going to say who my sources are but they are people who would know.
-
I was told by by four people within Dreamworld that they were replacing reef diver and also getting a full length roller coaster this year. it seems as though the first part is right so hopefully the roller coaster part is to.

GC Parks school holiday vs non-holiday traffic
raymond265 replied to Shadovv's topic in Theme Park Discussion
wet n wild will be packed for sure. any if you can you should try do that once the holidays are over and on a week day. movie world is hard to pick. the last time I went there in school holidays I managed to get 4 rides on Superman escape in an hour -
I reckon a liquor license would be hard to get. white water world is fully licensed meaning you can walk around anywhere in the park with alcohol. its poor form if it was canceled because wet n wild dropped the ball

Sydney Wet'n'Wild weight limit for rides?
raymond265 replied to swagjord's topic in Theme Park Discussion
This^ honestly if you do get knocked back on a ride who cares? does it matter so much what other people think? I used to take the attitude of who cares what random people think. either that or lose weight. its not as hard people make it out to be -
Sydney Wet'n'Wild weight limit for rides?
raymond265 replied to swagjord's topic in Theme Park Discussion
you might have to watch for combined weight on some of the slides. if the person your riding with is bigger build they may ask you how much you weigh. I know you shouldn't but when I was at my biggest I would just say a number that kept them happy. obviously you can't do that on the loops but -
What will be the next attraction to open at the GC parks?
raymond265 replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I keep on hearing Dreamworld have two rides planned for next year. one is a replacement for an old flat ride and the other is a roller coaster. As with everything I wil believe it when I see it but I have heard the same rides mentioned by 3 people who would be in a position to know. -
there were people filming at wet n wild today. they were closing calypso beach at times to film. probably the worst time of year to be filming there. the place was packed.

Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
raymond265 replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think the $20 milillion would cover everything they had to do including removing Bermuda triangle. They probably even included the value of loss of customers because no one wanted to go there whilst it was getting built. They would want the biggest figure possible in there media release. it seems like alot but I guess $20 million doesn't go far these days. You couldn't build tower of terror or wild west falls for that these days. -
Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
raymond265 replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I didn't see any fire effects. a pre show room would be good to set a story line. maybe even a recording similar to Superman escape saying a massive storm is about to hit or something along those lines. It is definitely a worthy replacement of the Bermuda triangle. -
Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
raymond265 replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
went on it today. It was ok. the theming outside of the ride is great. what my girlfriend and I both thought it lacked was anything before the lift hill. Going straight out of the station to the lift hill just seems to basic. if it had a little bit of build up before the outdoor bit it would make it a great ride. we both like the bit where you can watch the splashdown when leaving the ride. I only rode in the back seat and got drenched. maybe the other rows don't get so wet? it is a good family ride just wish it had more of a build up inside -
Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
raymond265 replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
is the ride open yet or is it just soft openings? I'm thinking about going today but I'm only going to ride it so don't want to waste my time if its closed -
if anyone is honest with themselves they would admit the way the holiday club get people in is borderline dodgy. however it is obviously legal in that they are still around doing what they are doing. my problem is that they are in theme Parks and in particular movie world. it just detracts from the theming and the feeling of being in a different world that movieworld has. Dreamworld has no distinct theme or feel about it so it makes sense to be there.
