  1. Because so many people can't read the signs that are very clearly posted everywhere saying "Do not climb, sit or swing on queue rails or chains". Perhaps a mandatory lesson in reading basic English should be a requirement prior to being allowed on the ride?
  2. I had thought the only change that would be visible externally would be a new sign. I'm very disappointed to see this demolition of the entire facade, and even more so now I know about the Disney connection.
  3. I get your point but it serves 2 very good purposes, and serves them well. It obviously provides sun (and occasionally rain) protection, and it some special events, and especially White Christmas, it enables various spectacular special effects including snow and light displays, which just wouldn't be possible without the roof. I think it's still possible to see it as a movie set, given that many of them are built inside studios so would ave a roof over them, even though they're supposed to be outdoors.
  4. True. Well, we can only hope they get it right.
  5. Asbestos is safe unless it's damaged. Otherwise many thousands (probably millions) of buildings would have to be demolished. I have to assume they would need to damage the asbestos in order to install the ride. In which case I really hope the replacement facade is tasteful and of high quality.
  6. Go with Coke (original)). It'll kill you much more slowly than Poweraid!
  7. I had no idea Dreamworld buildings were so closely modelled on Disney's. What a pity they didn't do the same with the attractions!
  8. That's kind of my point really. You put it better than I did!
  9. It's about time they stopped offering soft drinks full stop. Absolutely terrible for guests health yet they encourage everyone notonly to drink it, but to drink far more than could be considered acceptable (sort of) as an occasional "treat".
  10. In Dreamworlds defense I was there Thursday morning and the atmosphere was great, with friendly helpful staff.
  11. If the name were to be changed, that should only be done AFTER a massive investment program is already well underway, and a decent number of exciting new rides are under construction with at least one of them open. Otherwise people who go to the "new" park would just see more of the same and be very disappointed. Personally, I doubt the name will be changed anyway, and other than the flying theatre, I don't think there are any plans for new rides.
  12. Looks like they've done a pretty good job of downgrading the entrance area. The only thing left to complete it is to remove the word "Sea" from the signs and replace it with "Piss weak". Those words could just be added with a can of spray paint. The "World" part should remain as is. No need to waste money on a new sign with the same word.
  13. I guess some people like their dark rides really REALLY dark!
  14. It's an embarrassment of a showgrounds compared to Adelaide. Surrounded by apartments, the showbag pavilion is just a tent, only one food court which isn't anything special, just one small stage, and the few rides they do have are on rough grass. New location definitely needed!
  15. Re-reading the above sign, I realise my mistake. They never said "soon". I just assumed because such signs nearly always do. Oh well. It may be somewhat honest then (or nobody could prove otherwise)!
  16. It's the definitions of "exciting" and soon" that concern me.
