  1. Mine was the same. New pass just has the words "Premier Membership" printed on it, and functions exactly like the original membership pass (except hopefully never says it's 'expired' this time!)
  2. I'm a firm believer that accidents are nobodies fault (by definition), and therefore obviously nobody should be blamed or penalised regardless of the consequences of the accident. The problem is that in a situation like this, if there were things Dreamworld could have and should have done which would have prevented the tragedy, and they knew or ought to have known this, then it's not an accident. In that case, those responsible should absolutely be identified and severely punished. Sadly from the inquest so far it seems very clear there were numerous things that should have been done, which would have prevented the horrific outcome. I'm stating the obvious really, but those are my thoughts.
  3. Does anyone know whether similar rides elsewhere in the world have these rails? Also do any have some slats removed from their conveyors? Are the E Stops set up the same? If not, were these modifications approved by the rides manufacturer / a competent authority? I am curious about this, and also wonder if these questions have arisen at the inquest.
  4. They will. That has been confirmed. It will by all accounts be much better than the themeing that was there previously.
  5. To be fair he said he thought it was a possibility worth investigating. It was investigated, and very quickly found not to be a possibility after all. Having seen it after the mountain was removed, it was immediately very obvious to me without any technical knowledge whatsoever, that it was way beyond repair!
  6. Maybe just because it's a seasonal attraction? KeviL Hill (not Kevin) by the way!
  7. As much as I like being able to visit Dreamworld for 18cents per day (obviously assuming I choose to visit every day, which I don't), I have to seriously question the wisdom of offering annual passes so ridiculously cheap when they are saying profits are down, so much they see fit to cut maintenance spending! I have experience in large complex organisationss, so I do understand how such crazy decisions are made. Just saying it doesn't make sense.
  8. Only issue is Supanova gets ridiculously overcrowded. Not sure if there's a solution planned for that.
  9. For the first time, I'm starting to get a bit of a feel for what the theme of the park is supposed to be about. As well as the Dreamworks characters playing a strong role in the kids rides area, there is a great indigenous culture element, especially in the Coroberree area. That of course links well to the 'dreaming' idea. I knew about both these areas before of course, but the Coroberree section is much improved following the recent refurbishment, and today I saw some parts of it (and a couple of very interesting and well performed shows) I've never seen before. Also learnt some new things about indigenous culture. I might still have to learn how to spell Coroberree correctly though, maybe!
  10. Wonderful actually. I'm not too keen on going on any of the rides at Dreamworld at the moment, but I'm seeing parts of Dreamworld I never even knew about! There's a lot more than rides!
  11. Dreamworld this afternoon: Full carpark Great atmosphere LOADS of Stormtroopers!
  12. A sort of brief editorial summary of the weeks processings in todays paper.
  13. I agree. Let them pay. As long as I can get more or less the same experience for free that's ok by me.
  14. Looks like a couple of guys from guest services having a coffee break.
  15. I will add that about 6 weeks ago, I was at Movie World and thought once again my pass had "expired", but then a staff member said I needed a new pass as the original membership passes were not compatible with the new system the parks are using. I was given a new pass and so far no problems! I don't know if that was the cause of the issues all along but getting the new pass appears (at least so far) to have finally fixed it!
  16. Thank you. Having a membership myself, and having been told 7 times over the last year that it had expired, your post is very enlightening to me.
  17. Good but why can't theymake up their minds? Also, I hope they have ironed out the bugs with debit success (or debit failure as I call them), so people don't keep getting told their passes have expired!
  18. Might be good, maybe. Very sad to hear Kevil Hill's going though, as it's currently the best attraction at Dreamworld for me.
